feck_on_a_stick
Very few cars are going to be fun if you aren't driving them What sort of big engined cars are you looking at? I'd be like yourself though and don't drive mine daily. I get public transport to work so only use mine at weekends and the odd evening. Even at that, driving it doesn't bring me much fun these days unless I choose to rag it round some B roads. Its look don't exactly set my pulses racing either and I've lost all interest in modifying it. When they are 100% though I still think the VTI-S a decent enough car with a bit of performance and a half decent interior. I just wish replacement parts were a bit cheaper ffs. How about you make a big list of everything that needs done mechanically, sell a modification or two and use the money to pay someone (brother?) mechanic/Jap specialist and get it sorted, then just drive away at it for a few months and see how you get on? Krzys
Things that want dealing with are: Clutch (knew about that when I bought the car)Probably need driveshafts soon.HandbrakeSluggish running (Could be Lambda, TPS or MAP).Water leak(s).Aircon (Not a major factor but still something that doesn't work). Not a massive list I know, main thing getting me down about it is the fact I can't really splash out to sort it and because I can't I then feel like I don't want to. When I do decide to stick the boot in it doesn't feel quick even in the right gear at the right time.
feck_on_a_stick
Burn it! I feel your pain though. Its a real dilemma as to whether to cut your losses or not.
Krzys
Burn it! I feel your pain though. Its a real dilemma as to whether to cut your losses or not. I keep thinking of other cars, all sorts of cars, but I always come back to looking at EP3's, for starters they're newer and have less problems with water leaks. They don't drop out of VTEC in second gear and I like how they look out of the box, though not perfect, I would want to do a few bits to one but nothing like I've done with the VTi-S, I would hope I'd be able to get one that needs little or no work doing so I can just get in and use it rather than messing about with driving around faults. KiNK43
Unfortunately ep will suffer all the same typical honda issues. If anything they are built worse than older civics. Built cheaper. Engine is bombproof yes. Gearboxes suffer the same. Bushes suffer the same. Steering racks are notorious for giving grief. Been though it myself. DAVEMB2
Yer x2 and its elec power steering so feel I say not as good as mech power steering , and a lot less room in bay when you do need to do anything . Do not get me wrong i like ep3 s but you can not beat 5 door civic , look at the people who have gone off the m and miss it even a few ep3 drives miss it ,no one can put a finger on it but there is something you miss about the M

Krzys
There's a reason people go off the M too though.
Krzys
Ish. Man up and fix it. That list is tiny!Small but expensive list depending on the extent of some of the problems.
KiNK43
Clutch is the only expensive thing there surely. The other bits can be sorted for pitence! You say probably need drive shafts. Get them off the list they'll be fine. I'll eat my own cv boots if you shafts snap in the next 2 years.Come on stop winging and get on with it!
