Alloy wheel size discussion - 15" vs 16" vs 17"

When i first changed my 17's to 15's on the M i went out for a test drive and when i came to a corner the car felt really weird, so stopped and checked. Only later was it that i realised it was the flex in the sidewalls that was causing it, then go used to it, but it was never like that on 17's!

I have 15" on the MB6 at the moment. I'll probably be sticking with them until I can justify spending £200 on new tyres immediately after buying 16s.

My 17s are the same size as the 15" when you take into account the side wall of the tyre, which is also alot wider!

Yeah the smaller profile etc usually means that even with bigger wheels the total circumference is roughly the same. You just notice more bumps etc because of the sidewalls being smaller. The width will affect grip though and wet weather behaviour.
