Use a specialist insurer like footman James or greenlight. Should be able to have an agreed valuation you pay a little extra but not alot. I put 5k on mine.1 point

Absolutely needs load applied in order to lock up. And yes maybe required amount increases with wear. Unless your having an actual issue with the box tho. Personally wouldn't be splashing cash fixing something that isn't broken. I'm gonna film a burnout now lol1 point

It's normal for only one wheel to turn I can assure you that. I've had loads of LSD boxes over the years and all do that including my current one. And that works just fine1 point

Yeah, was properly clutching at straws Since posting I've seen how they work with different gears meshing in at different torque levels, so you're right. I don't see how it could have failed without something serious going pop? Yeah it's the standard lsd. Unless someone's whipped it out at some point lol1 point

I wouldn't have thought the lack of oil would stop it working mate, but suppose it depends on the different types of lsd. Have seen a few car shows where they've fitted an lsd to a car that didnt already have it, and during the gearbox build have shown how it works so as the gearbox was on the bench at the time Im assuming it was empty? Not a Honda part I've ever heard of failing beforem deffo a first. Adam (jalesi2001) that used to be on here would probs know, but I've lost contact with him. I can ping him a message via Fb if you want? Is it the standard mb6/mc2 lsd you've got?1 point

So the garage phoned today asking about gearbox oil. They thought I'd said that I needed lsd oil (I didn't), and said that they'd phoned honda to check, and honda said that only the integra had an lsd I said that it definitely has lsd as standard and that I normally use honda MTF. They said that they'd tried turning the wheel, and the other wheel didn't spin. So, the manual says that this means the lsd is dead. I haven't seen much online about honda lsds dying though, so my wondering (straw grasping) is whether the lack of oil in the box would stop the lsd working, and will it work once all topped up and oily?1 point

My Honda Civic MB6 1.8 VTI-S (Modified) Welcome to my pride and joy, this car was built in my garage starting in January 2012 and concluding in July 2013. I've always wanted to build a car from scratch, the bare shell all the way up and this was my opportunity to do it and do it my way. In 2011 I built a Civic VTI (the blue one) pretty much refurbished the whole car but didn't go anywhere near the attention to detail that I've paid on this one. Unfortunately I crashed that car (hence the pics at the start of the album) so from the ashes of that crash I stripped the car and kept all the bits scraping the old chassis. I then purchased a genuine Civic VTI-S from a guy in Salisbury, the car was in fairly good condition with no major damage and ran well - this I thought to my self would be the building block for my plan! Over the next 18 months the car was gutted and the whole chassis and body was rubbed down,re under sealed and prepped ready for paint. All the suspension and brakes where fitted before spraying with all components being carefully removed,re sprayed and re fitted or replaced with new or uprated parts. The vehicle was sprayed championship white, trailer'ed back to my garage and the rest of the rebuild continued..... The album shows a step by step guide to my journey through 2 winters which where not nice to work in! Dozens of cuts scars and self inflicted injure's and a very forgiving and understanding girlfriend to reach what I wanted to achieve. I've loved building her despite all the ups and downs and I'm kinda glad it's now done but with all projects - there never truly finished....... I hope you all enjoy my build thread There are more pictures on the link in the newbies section when i first said hey....
