  1. i'm gonna leave it for the moment. look in to it in the new year....
  2. no i didn't, that was my first car, a mk3 phase 1 astra swing 1.4 single point injection. with an allmighty 60 bhp..... (wanted more go as it had no power and no torque what so ever....) rolled that fucking thing 4 times at 40mph yeah 40mph, bird shatered the windsreen as i entered a right hand bend, starteled me (only been driving a couple of month's), back end hit the dirt and sent me sideway's rolled it 4 time's in total encluding 1 of them end over end got it over a dyke and on top of a hedge facing very nearly the way i came....... so back to the question, can i drop any of the above cam's in and the car can run with out any ill effect's
  3. so far, 150k mc2 aerodeck, on mg zs suspention and rear rollbar, custom ss catback with itr airbox. running at 163bhp just wondering if just swapping the cam's would give the engine a boost, or do i need to go further with remapping it as well. i remember pricing up an fast road cam for my old astra. it was an old 1.4 spi, and i'd been on the forum's, priced up a S/H 1.6 spi head, head skim, valve regrind, headgasket kit bolt's. and a fast road cam and it wouldn'd need remaping or anything electrical eather... never got around to doing it cos i did this to it yes i did walk away from it......
  4. just wondering what i can and can't do for a couple of 100 quid to give me more bang for buck......
  5. would be there be any gain by just swapping the the c4 cam's out and by dropping ITR/CTR cam's in? i.e just cam's no re-map, or anything else or i'm i just barking up the wrong tree.....
  6. mc2 vti aerodeck, 145000 and counting..... must remember to do an oil change on it soon....
  7. my old mb1 was an auto, and driving it was a pleasure, and having an arm free was good, you can eat and drink on the move, instead of having to plan everything, and having an auto around town is a lot easer on the driver as well..
  8. look's bloody brilliant, and all those cup holder's aswell, 6 that's being greedy.....
  9. have you got any of these,http://span-trade.co.uk/images/uploads/CAN1164ERA.jpg or are using latex/rubber dispoable glove's, if so, put one of them on the filter, the filter need's to be clean and dry, and put a pair on your hand's you should be able to grip them enough to get it to shft wd40 won't help the situation as it will most likely end up all over filter making it slippy as a kipper ( ) the last resort (i've never used), is to go a bit with a and a screwdriver, stab the filter, (oil will go every where). and turn.........
  10. quick tom, go round to his house and get some pic'sof it before he does since your local to him........

    Shocks for Mc2

i've got the same setup on mine as well, zs180 spring+shock's ,and the the zs 180 rear roll bar, which transform's a big wallowing estate in to a very good handling car, that can see of most other vehicle's
  20. my new mc2, 143k on the clock now, that remind's me, i need to get a cam belt sorted as it's only got about 6-7k left on it....
  21. well i've had a look around, but £240 quid for one isn't bad, but i'm looking for a 5th gear ratio of about 0.750-0.725 that should give me 2500-2750 rpm at 60 mph. which should give a good fuel return's on the long run and still keep the fun of 1,2,3,4. but on the other hand, what are they gonna want for a one off custom gear ratio? 300-350+ and then there is the other part's as well, cos when it's apart i may aswell go the hole hog and do the following carbon syncro's (175) good clutch lightened flywheel bearing's etc. i'd be looking at 700/800 just for that and then there's the doner box and anything else on top....... i think i'll leave it for a bit......
  22. cheer's for that, i'll look at that later, and as for the bike comment, i know, as soon as i get a spare bit of money, i'll be getting on my bike lol.....
  23. 1st one, oil, currantly running castrol 10/40 semi synthitic magnertech, but i don't do a lot of miles, (4 mile's each way to work). would i be better off on the next change going to one of the following; 5/30 fully synthetic 5/30 semi synthetic 5/40 fully synthetic 5/40 semi synthetic or do i just stick with 10/40 semi synthetic the other one is gonna be a bit of a new one the gear box.... been looking for data on any b-series gear boxes i can find. i'm looking at doing a internals swap taking the best bit's out of the ITR box, and trying to find a longer 5th gear to drop the rev's down when crusing at speed, at this time 60mph, your doing 3250rpm i'd like to drop that to about 2500-3000 rpm at 60mph. i can find gear ratio data for all the common integra/civic box's but can find any on cr-v/stream or anything else
