  1. i've felt it working in all of the snow and ice this week and oh boy having a LSD make's poor weather brilliant, even passed a stuck range rover sport on the A46 on monday...
  2. the laser/optical computer alignment system are great, but the system where all of the measurement's are done from wheel to wheel on the car only, like this are much more flexable and can handle it if the car is off center and at an angle it'll still track it, as long as it is on a level surface http://www.zeplineering.com/img/products/wheel-align.jpg these are then displayed on a computer. the hunter type of system where there is a fixed frame at the front of the ramp and then "targets" mounted on the wheel like this http://www.four-wheel-alignment.co.uk/communities/3/004/009/546/233/images/4555013927.jpg all it take's is for the car to be off center and/or at an angle to the fixed frame, and it knacker's up the whole system and making the tracking worse...
  3. iirc, the "online" mot system came in around 2005/6, there were a few test station's around that were pilot station's from around 2004 i know one of these was landrover aberdeen. but the system did have it's issue's so the system was bought in acorss the system gradually so as there are aout 20100 test station's and around 53000 mot tester's, that's a lot of people to train and place's to install computer equipment in too.... also set up phone line's up as it is a dial up conection to the vosa center...
  4. i like it, mmmm shiney shiney...... i'd like to show you my effot's of polishing alloy bit's up... this was my dad's truck one week before truckfest 2007. the cleaning and polishing of the wheel's fell to me.... truckfest 2007 blood, sweat, tears' and a lot of autosol went in to them wheel's.....
  5. Thats what I thought looking at which is what confused me- the wear is all on the inside quarter and not feathered like tracking wear. Looks like I've been ragging it around on about 5deg neg camber! The local tracking place uses a Hunter which I think can detect chassis misalignment as well so should find out what up with it. oh god not hunter, what a sack of #### to use, the pro align and hawk eye system's have got so many flaw's it;'s unreal, as all it take's is the car to be slightly of center and it'll put the entire system out and the car will drive worse than before. the best system's are any that clamp to the wheel rim. as the aligment happen's on the car, where as the hunter pro align and hawk eye align from a fixed point so if the car is off center so is everything else. they retail at about £25k+, and 1yr down the line, another manufacturer is taking them in as part-ex against a wheel mounted system at £16K...

is this what you have now or what you want....
  7. in no pertucular order... small service cambelt and aux belt's sort the rear caliper's out mirrors (got parts) vtis kit (got parts) dc2 wheel's refurb (got wheels ) 3 point strut brace H brace (got part) body work i'm sure their is gonna be more....
  8. the mid section on a mb6 is the same as a mc2, but the backbox is different due to the extra 6"? of body on the deck over the hachback
  9. ^^ not yet its next on the list then Momo tried a bit of high speed just now and caught 2 police cars up on an A road they were doing 70mph don't want to be doing that too often
  10. well it's been a busy few day's for the 'deck, when i got kink's mirror's all a was gonna do i swap the internal's over and offer the BP case's up for offer. unfortunaly, the new mirror's put the paint on mine to shame so mine have been stripped for paint and i'm now rocking PB mirror's on the deck. also managed to sort the driver's seat out aswell, 2 bolt's on the LH rail worked loose and allowed the seat base to move around. also managed to wash and vax the car out aswell. also have started to plot my next move with the vtis kit....
  11. didn't use extended stud's as there is plenty of stud left for the nut
  12. when i've got the genuine 96 spec ITR wheel's on i have to run 3mm spacer's on the front, their not universal one's they were made for the stud diamiter so are a realy good fit. not had no issue's you only tend to find you have issue's when you combine a very large spacer (talking 10mm +) and aftermarket wheel's with the plastic spigot ring. the spigot ring support's the weight of the car not the wheel stud's as they can break.
  13. you've got to think how long did the O.E one fitted from the factory last 7/8 year's over the every 2/3 year's out of the patten part that garage's often fit when they fail the MOT
  14. or should it be pumping ally...
  15. nice to hear from you as well, i still love owning her, and apart from the mot, mirror's and slow starting it's been faultless. as for the center cap's if i was gonna change the wheel colour i'd source more center cap's as we know what there worth.....
  16. i look in to it in the new year..... as for the mirror, the cable tie didn't last long as some kind soul folded the mirror in for me snapping the cable tie, so now eletrical tape is keeping it in place.....
  17. only just seen this, when i had a shaft let go on the mb1, i put a blue point replacement on it and never had an issue with it, it didn't have a rot inducing balancer on it either.
  18. on the other hand, they do look good, but i need to consider the centercap's that are genuine dc2 in silver and are quite rare....
  19. cheer's jake, don't mind the about the scratch's, as the internals' are what i need. you'll have a PM shortly about it. tom, i don't think bronze wheel's would suit a silver car. i think i am gonna go for silver, but would consider other idea's from people.
  20. first of all, it wasn't hit, it was metal fatigue, not sure is anyone has stripped a door mirror down but it's quite easy to do. the folding mechinism has like a valve spring and a cap that cut's in to the the ally chassis of the mirror holding it in place, that cap has weakend and sprang off, it took a vice and 2 lambda scoket's (one's with cut out's for the wiring) to squeeze it back on, putting it back on all ok, started to bang the door card on and i heard the bang again so it's now got a cable tie holding it in place (ghetto or what ) anyway i've been meaning to have a look at the mirror as the heated bit isn't working, and that's down to it having a replacement mirror at some point in it's life, and the the wire's to the heated element are rotton as well. also the spring on the passenger side is also weak aswell krzys and unicycingtom, yeah know the feeling, it was a oh $hit moment WTF was that. kink43, what do you want for them as i do need some quickly, i take it their heated and electric the mirror and base plate's are all ok, just need the internal's are needed although they are going to be a swine to do as mirror motor's seem to be hard wired to the loom and the plug won't fit through the mirror either.. the other thing i need to decide on is what color to paint the wheel's. any idea's i'm thinking of oem silver like this \/ not sure if it help's but the vtis kit is going black, not sure if it's gonna be PB (rear skirt and side skirt are already PB), NHB, matt black, or gloss black. the mid boot spoiler is going silver though
  21. my mb1 ls had a tray under the passenger seat, and my currant vti aerodeck has one under the passenger seat aswell.
  22. got a wierd on for you all, parked up the car up waiting for a gap in the traffic to get out, and there was this al mighty bang, no damage to the car so thought i was some one eles's car that had been hit, so folded the drivers' mirror in to find it's gone really floppy, there's no ristiance to folding it what's so ever, has anyone had this happen to them, gonna try to strip it tommorow.
  23. the ice got the better of me the other day, the arse wanted one way i wanted to go the other.....
