650rob replied to knight's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC

Nice progress. I think you should sand the rocker cover not black. Get lip painted... looks weird blue. All imo of course!- 1,645 replies

nice car gibbo same colour as my pal's.

Just looking through the mc2 shop manual and it says disc thickness is 22.9-23.1 So, am i correct in thinking these Prelude ones will fit? http://bremboaftermarket.com/En/Car_Disc_Catalogue/Catalogue_Detail.aspx?ApplicationIDMaster=11028 Christ, am going round in circles here! Hell me Boab!

I suppose the mintex price isn't too bad considering it is for four + pads. I'm put off with the black diamond after Dave's review i wasn't going for drilled cheap sh!t I'm happy to spend a bit...I'd just like to know what is interchangeable - as I may be able to get good quality at a cheaper price; which will result in me not having to delve into my Download festival fund
-
Just copy them ad put them in ebay search window Which prelude shared the same brakes as mb6? As some are 5 stud also.
-
Any chance these would work? 270751561270 I noticed that the thickness is 25mm instead of 24mm. The height is also 1mm less than the ebc alternatives: 330635922233 Look at the price difference!
-
I've been reading though reviews on discs and ebc seem to be hit and miss and they seem very expensive for that? Don't fancy MTEC discs either. Cannot be spending silly money, but, then again, I don't want to be buying cheap and paying twice if you know what I mean. Recommendations? Also, is the size 280mm by 24mm - as I've seen some advertised at 282mm by 24.

You're a funny guy Noodels, that's why I'm going to kill you last! I thought there was an accord model?
-
Which other models share the same brakes as the mc2 / mb6 as I need to replace my fronts. I fancy trying the brembo max but not listed for mc2.

Some good stuff here would be interested to know how the clutch feels. -
Right got my sus today, given them a good clean and now I absoiutely stick of degreaser. I don't think I should be driving today fumes have got to me lol. Anyone know what size bolts I will need? Got some smoked indicators to fit and also getting my alloys refurbed and powdercoated for £120. Still waiting on my rarb to be delivered though!

I thought I'd seen this motor before Dave. I just saw it, and presumably you, getting fuel. I saw it yesterday too, but, was driving passed; so did not get a proper look.I was thinking of shouting 'civic5!' but I was not 100% and besides I'm not a fully fledged member, so I don't know the secret handshake yet! This thread confirmed my suspicions: vtiS badge - check smoked side repeaters - check white wheels - check Without trying to sound stalkerish - but failing miserably - I'm just down the street from you! I have to say those pictures don't do the wheels justice mate they look cracking up close. Nice colour motor too, probably the best you can get for the civic

wow. It's taken me all day to get to the end of this thread! The amount of hours... Props to you!

Yeah I do like! Sleek as. Was it a custom paint job?
-
talk about a thread hijack! pfft.

From reading loads of forum posts the price most folk pay is around £100 with p&p? MG zs 180, '02, 110k - 95 inc p%p Also, the side repeaters - are they a straight swap? Or is there something else I need? Thoughts?
-
I will do won it on ebay FSH 75,000 miles 12 months mot and 4 months tax. Meroon (like my dad's old triumph eclaim!). Guy seems very anal about the motor but still going to give it a thorough going over on friday when collecting. Got myself some MG shockers sorted and just need the rarb.
-
Just a quick one. Will 17s work with the MG sus or will there be problems? If I was to get my local mech to fit them - I do not have the time - how many hours labour? If it is loads this job will have to wait till the summer. Rob
-
Don't be showing me that! I've got enough toys on the go without seeing anything new and shiny. Consumer fetishism at its worst! The aerodeck will be taking me to the alps this summer so I've got to prioritise... rear anti roll bar and mg zs 180 suspension it is then!
-
Can I just ask the motor has 17s on it - how will these effect it? I'd prefer to have honda wheels on. Other than OEM, what options are there? Rob
-
Aye, well, my van insurance is due for renewal and the barstewards want £900 notes for a poxy van! Since I don't use it as I used too - I used to use it for getting my ktm about, but, I've since sold it; so now the van is redundant. With the aerodeck I will get a decent motor andI'll be able to transport my downhill bike. The irony of the situation, is, the van does not give me the option for hooning about like the civic. Whereas the civic will cost half of what they wanted for the van insurance! Thanks for the link - that is a quality buyer's guide! I'm going to be a right gimboid and create a checklist for looking the car over lol.

Now then. New member to the site and soon to be owner of an 1.8 vti aerodeck - hopefully! I've been reading though the forum for the last couple of days and what I've not been able to find, on here and google, is a buyer's guide for the 1.8 vti aerodeck. Other than the usual checks, is there anything specific I should be looking out for? Cheers Rob
