  1. here are the rust spots. they are really bad as they go through the inner metal. thinking about just cutting the rust out and using primer to try and prevent more rust. the hole on the passenger side was made bigger by me just poking it. glad I didn't cut my finger up.
  2. yeah. the arch liners were in place and are in great condition.
  3. I will take some pictures tomorrow when there is more light out. Since fall is upon us its getting darker faster here in Germany. Weird thing is I have driven in the rain 5x worse and there were no leaks. As for the rust, I dunno. I will let you guys be the judge.
  4. Heres the deal. I just my Deck about 3 months ago. I really love the car because of the styling, the diesel engine, and the great roomy space for me and the family. Recently I have run into a few problems that the seller hasn't told me about. I know that most cars in Europe suffer from the epidemic of rust. Its just how it is, and I can deal with that. So when the seller told me there is no rust on the car I couldn't believe him. But to my astonishment there was just the underbody rust that is typical even on American cars. There were no dents and no body rust at all. So naturally I bought the car. This past Friday I went to my in-laws house with the family. I left the Deck home cause I was still prepping to put the interior back in from the Belgium incident. When we left it was raining pretty good and was also very windy as well. Well we get back today and the weather is pretty good to do work on the car. I go outside, open up the doors, and look down to find water inside my car's floor board. What the heck?!?!?!? I check all the usual suspects. Door seals, the boot seals, even the floor drain plugs. All those spots are dry. I even checked the AC drain tube, its good to go. Then I find it. Turns out my firewall cushion padding is soaking wet, and I mean its dripping wet. Then I look to my right and find some 3rd degree rusting going on where the kick panels go. Its also on the driver and passenger sides, and the whole padding is wet. So here is my question. Do I try to fix the problems on my car by pulling all the interior out to hunt down the leak and cut /weld new metal for the rust? Or do I cut my losses and try to sell or scrap it?
  5. problem is there aren't that many yards in my area. and the ones I do find don't have M chassis civics. its a shame actually, but also a good thing. shows that people take care of their M's. hmmmm...... maybe. but its the same with Rover/MG not too many around here.
  6. oh, well it happens, eeerrrrr I guess. lol, thanks for the compliments I used some Konig bases and they fit pretty good. one hole is off just by a few cm's but that no problem. nothing my Dewalt cant handle. yeah, it could have been a lot worse. at least the car was drivable. I went to Honda today to get a price quote on the seats and carpet and found out they don't make them anymore and cant order them.
  7. the front seats and the carpet smell something horrible. I am filing a claim with the U.S. Army in the hopes I can get the carpet and seats taken care of. with the warmer weather here its going to cause mold.
  8. well I am back from Belgium from school. while I was there it rained soooo much that my car got flooded out by the over flow of water. had to pull out the carpet and let the car air out. the good thing is it allowed me to test fit my Recaro seat and see how it felt. I used a Konig seat base and some sliders that came with the seat. fits nice and snug and the Recaro is oh so comfortable.
  9. I just bought these last month when I was on vacation. that's why they are still new looking.
  10. did some upgrading on this rainy Wednesday afternoon after work. decided to throw in my older Spoon goodies that I had in the Garage. I had to install the HBK Boss Hub kit and it worked out great. I put a nice cushion of foam and electrical tape around the diode so that it wont get banged around too much. and Spoon shift Knob, because I said so pics aren't that great cause I didn't want to use my Nikon today. sorry.
  11. that's how it always is. but I told the wife I would not go all out on this one. especially since I am working on my K series project. I would like to see what this Turbo SOHC can do, but I don't know much about these Rover L series. not gonna lie I have seen some cool Rover parts that look legit. http://www.roverdiesel.co.uk/index.php/products/117-fmic-400-45-zs http://www.roverdiesel.co.uk/index.php/products/115-stainless-decat http://www.darkicedesigns.com/en/exhaust-silencers-and-upgrades/72-stainless-exhaust-system-for-mg-rover-400-45-zs.html problem is some of these parts, the top 2 links, aren't made anymore. but I will look into it later on down the road.
  12. loving all the goodies and work so far
  13. I hate having to hunt down leaks man. I have one that is right behind my drivers seat. I assume its one of the drain plugs or even the bolt holes for the seats.
  14. it must be black magic!! lol thanks. I don't want to go too crazy with this daily drive car. I have a few more things I want to do, then after that its primarily maintain the car.
  15. well I couldn't find an ITR steering wheel for a good price so I got this Boss Hub kit to install my Spoon wheel. it even includes what I believe to be an enclosed resistor to delete the SRS light by tricking the system to think its still plugged in.
  16. got some more parts in the mail today. my muteki lug nuts and my UKDM cluster as well. now I can tell how fast I am going in MPH and KPH. and the black lug nuts
  17. trying to tuck your wheels more or just need a new kit?
  18. these are some temps until I can get some better ones. not too sure if I want to go with Skunk2, BlackWorks, or D2. but for now these will do.
  19. been off the grid for a lil bit. work has kept me pretty busy these days. I had to take the rims and tires off due to the rubbing when going over bumps and the likes of. so I threw on the Zenders for the time being. I think I need to get 205 series tires all around to help with the rubbing. at least my rear camber kit finally came in; I will post up pictures of that later on.
  20. thanks a lot man. much appreciated!!! simple and clean is the way I do it.
  21. yeah the brakes are very nice and the hold very well. thanks a lot. now I just need to get my camber kits so I can tuck my wheels a lil bit more.
  22. thanks. I just did a lil rolling of the wells in my garage the old school way. when I get the chance I want to have a shop get it better for me. I appreciate the comment. yeah I believe that 16's are a very nice fit for the Decks. I try to keep my wheel selection very simple and tasteful.
  23. this why I kept failing my inspection for the e-brake being uneven. these things are done and done!!! gonna keep them as cores so if I ever need some new-new ones I can turn them in. after adjusting the e-brake cables, and bleeding the brakes the car stops a lot smoother now. I looked at the adjuster nut and lever for the e-brake cables and it is level just as it should be.
