  1. I am back from vacation. It was a blast and nice to get away. Family had fun and the dog enjoyed the ocean, but now its time to finish up some work on the Deck. While I was gone my upper control arms came in and so did my B&M short shifter. I already changed out the upper control arms, but I didn't snap any pics. If time permits I wanna put in the short shifter tomorrow. I am still waiting on the other goodies from 1000rpm to arrive. Hopefully soon.
  2. Thanks fellas. It should be blast cause I will be by the North Sea. Lots of good seafood up there.
  3. well I will be going off to vacation for a few days gents. wont be doing any car stuff for about a good week. but I ordered up some stuff from 10000rpm on here so hopefully its here when I get back. will be adding power windows, painted silver door handles, and a VTi armrest.
  4. lots of hard work that you got knocked out. compared to my old EG6 I bet this non-ps is a beast to maneuver, lol.
  5. I wouldn't qualify that junk as safe. But it sells on tv. I guess some people like it like that. It is a problem. When we modify cars we do it for track or street use. That show does it to have some kid running to mommy and daddy asking to destroy their car. My own opinion.
  6. Duhhhh!!! I had one of those moments. I was able to get it off and put on a weighted shift knob today.
  7. Unrelated: How the hell do you remove the shift knob???
  8. Thanks!! @ Tom I do believe you are right. Once I get on level ground and lowered a bit more it might be alright
  9. In Germany yes, In America as long as the car is safe to drive you can do what you want.
  10. Yeah I think because its more of a deep dish look its a little off. But its just a temp look right now. I would like to lower it some more, but I cant lower it too much or I wont pass inspection. For some crazy reason its a big no-no to slam a car.
  11. I was thinking the same thing. That's why I am considering 16's. The good thing about these rims is that a lot of the old school VW guys in America will pay big money for these rims. So if I end up selling them I can get some cash for other rims.
  12. Well I put on the rims but I had to use 8mm spacers in the rear and 5mm in the front. Sorry for the evening shot. Got side tracked with cleaning up the house and yard. I am not 100% sure if I really like the rims on there or not. I guess I am just so used to my other rims on my EK4. I am going to think about these for a few days. I am gonna sit on this idea and maybe step up to 16in rims.
  13. I have several sets of Recaros that I have in my garage that I can use. I don't have my DC2's here, they are in my storage in Arizona. I might just go for my Designers.
  14. lots of hard work is going into this. hope to see some real bad a$$Ery from this one.
  15. Did a lil research in my garage today. I pretty much modified my stock rails to fit some Designer Sport seats (made by Recaro). I used the same how to thread in the interior section but I didn't use a bucket seat. As I was looking over the stock rails and sliders I couldn't help but notice the similarities in my Recaro rails and sliders. Except for about 1inch, they are basically the same. The only problem that occurs is a slight offset of one of the holes on the inner rail, and the slider handle hits. Not to worry though, as my Recaro rails and sliders have adapters for height. So I am hoping to have some different seats in my car soon.
  16. Yeah I am kind of an old school rim guy as well., They just don't make em' like they used too.
  17. Well I cant leave them on cause the tires are worn. but I will make sure to get some pics of the set-up when its on.
  18. I am sure they will. Gonna have to do a test fit and see.
  19. I have some zender rims that have a nice lip on them. Its an older style rim that they stopped making. It almost like a 5 star design. They are the same wheels as these:
  20. Here is a side shot of the car fully lowered. I plan on going just a tad bit lower on some 15in rims. Thinking about running 205/50/15's for a little more patch contact.
  21. Nice. Might be worth checking out.
  22. Thanks. I did manage to put the rears on today, just didn't take any pics of the full stance. will do tomorrow for sure
  23. Was out and about most of the day. Once I was done doing family stuff the Wife let me go to the junk yard and work on the car. Went to the local yard and picked up these goodies. A set of seat rails that I plan on modifying and a cream/tan colored arm rest. All of this was out of a Rover 416. Different color? No problem sir. I plan on using some Dupli-color for plastic flat black paint on it. Had just enough time left to put on the rear suspension and adjust it. No pics of the lows, sorry. I ran out of day light. This was actually a pain in the a*s with all the removal of the rear panels and the old suspension. I really need to look into another set of trailing arms!!!! 1. 2. Done
  24. I just had time to throw on the fronts today. Will do up the rears tomorrow. Here is just a recap. Feel free to check the build thread. These are no where near slammed or as low as I want to go. Will update that once I make adjustments.
