The ol' switcher-oooo,,,,,,A Brake caliper question
Jayhoath83 replied to Smitty_Works's topic in Brakes and alloys
Im not sure i think it depends on wat pcd ur wheels are as the vti's are 4x114 if the mc3 is the same then the brake discs n calipers should fit -

Its amazing how many prob a good oll ecu reset can cure lol its looking promising it would be interesting to c u n someone with a itg box on a dyno to c if theres a difference in power n throttle response -
Already have m8 n ur sort of right but no one is talking about engine knock as none of us are running that high of octane level to cause such an issue n as said these engines were originally designed to work with japanese 100 so using 98 in the uk or even 100 is not going to hurt the engine

Ideed the teggy box is the way to go n i defo see wat u mean about intake lengths affecting it so will be interesting if u plan works i picked up some flexi tube for mine so i can get the cold air to it as tom pointed out before heat exchange can cause power loss -
I just keep going till the fuel light comes on n then panic n vtec my way to the nearest shell pump lol

As said before on b18s the teggy box is best for them so i doubt it would add much power as filters rarely do as for the h22 mabe it dose as ive not seen it done before on them -

why buy more than one how many type r's could a man have
-
Nice 2tone mr2 matty they are gr8 handling car ive had many fun times as a passenger and as the driver in my m8s turbo one defo a real drivers car. As for the understeer they were set that way from factory according to my m8 it was to help prevent to much tailout action so its a good thing sort of lol

I think, so dont quote me they are +15deg but cant remember of the top of my head n ur forgetting that the b series was designed to run on higher octane fuel as thats the norm in japan n thats why they do respond better to it n im not saying it will give u more power but the higher the octane the cleaner the burn which inturn helps the engine stay cleaner in the head n bores which is never a bad thing
-
All b series have self learning ecu's so they do benefit from higher octane fuels

I try to never buy second hand sensors as there a bit hit n miss wen its somthing important like engine or braking systems allways try n buy new but thats just imo
-
What about the door locks do u have to change the barrel over as well or is it a rear door
-
Wen i did mine yes it deffo f**ked the lacquer and the paint but only in the area that was getting bad so if ur paint n lacquer are in gr8 condition then it should be fine but as said it could go either way

I think it is specifically the 180 as thats the only one i find any reference to it being a quick rack. And i totally agree about polly bushes ive used them before n find they dont last long either so i always use hardend rubber ones n stiffen with some resin where i can. And as to camber arms they can damage ur car if its too low but wen lowering any car camber should be checked n reset to factory settings otherwise this could cause very bad handleing or tyre ware or both and i want to be able to fine tune the settings of the car so i can get her perfect. Im currently bugging people on my mg owners club to find out if its only the 180 n if someone has one for me to buy

A 3 point brace might help a bit more tiz true n i no my chassis has flex to within reason n yes some coilies will defo help the handling but what im after is all of that and a steering response that is urgent as at the moment it feels wooly even though its in good shape. so if i put all the advice together it comes down to mgzs steering rack 17" alloys low profile tyres A comprehensive set of strut braces decent coilovers and a camber kit front n rear then the car should corner with the best of them i guess i no what im spending money on this year if nothing else breaks lol
-
I just checked the ratios of the 2 n the honda rack is 18.2:1 n the mg is 16.4:1 which might make a difference now its just a question of if it can fit lol
