burbleboy
Does it smell burnt at all? I'm sure if it was the chip, then they would maybe sort you out f.o.c or charge you cheapness seeing all the work has been done and all you need is new chip and saved map uploaded onto it. burbleboy
I can't confirm this but that chip looks like the one already fitted when I bought the ecu. I can't search back ebay to get a picture as it's too long ago.I would even question what chips Triple H use and see if they re-used the one that came with it. I can't exactly mind from 2012 but it just looks the same as ebay selling pic.
dogg1210
I noticed a slight burning smell sometimes if driving hard but thot it might just be something on exhaust
burbleboy
That will probably be the exhaust joining doughnut gaskets melting!!!
dr_broon
Think that the sst chips are pretty much the main (if not only?) one that's used. The chips themselves aren't that expensive...about a fiver. Obviously it's the Map that costs. I'd they've still got the Map then they should be able to sort it out. KiNK43
Chips are flashable so any tuner would use the existing chip and overwrite it.Triple h should be able to a new chip from a saved file. You can also revert the p28 back to its original rom see if the car idles then. There's a location on the back of the board called J1 iirc. Two points will be soldered there. If you cut or remove that link. Will revert back to stock p28 rom

For £300 I expect my remap to be kept on file in case I want to swop back.

dogg1210
Phoned and he says my ecu is dead as he's never had a chip fail, said to buy another socketed ecu and put chip in and it should run fine
