  3. I did try the alloys on today..love how they look but there was a problem. The rear alloys are not setting in properly. I tried to tight the bolts as much as I could but every time I would drive the rear ones are making a loud noise line they are not on properly. I have taken them off for now might take them to the tyre shop tomorrow.don't know what's wrong with them :-$ Sits nicely on them as well

  6. ^^ Still blue. Yes that's pretty much it. Sorry, got a bit carried away last night, hopefully this will simplify it. Overall wheel diameter as it is now: 19.6 inches With new 15's and the tyres they came with: 19 inches (so should be just over half an inch lower) With 195/50/15's: 18.8 inches (so should be almost an inch lower) It won't feel much lower but it may handle a bit better, less tramlining.

  7. When you do the thermostat, probably worth while changing the coolant too then bleed it (Just leave it running with the rad cap off to let the air bubbles escape and top up!). Lines are cheap enough to replace, you've got a bit of time to source the bits before the MOT anyway!

  8. Ha it's not mine its my mates dads but it is a sl55 amg supercharged V8 that has been remapped and is pushing over 550 bhp I think, and it sounds the nuts and goes like the clappers,

  9. What oil do you have in it chap? As some of us have found Castrol makes the top end ticky. Possibly your valve clearances need doing, a video would help.

  10. And those tyres will be fine mate. Nothing wrong with having different sizes front to rear. Bargain too ..white wheels on silver car...sick

  11. I had 17's with 205x40x17s then put 15's with 175x50x15's dropped it a good inch

  12. This is a tricky area, ideally you need to keep the same rolling radius as original, the original tyre size is 195/55/15 which gives you a sidewall of approx. 4.2inches + 15 inches for tyre, total diameter 19.2in. With the 16s you have the sidewall is approx 3.6in + wheel at 16in total = 19.6in. So with the tyres on the new wheels the sidewall is a fraction over 4 inches for both + 15in for the wheels giving a total of 19 inches which is closer to the original rolling radius and should also have the added effect of bringing the car closer to the black stuff, happy days. With 195/50/15s the sidewall will be approx. 3.8in so a total of 18.8 so should be lower still but the rolling radius will be further from original, I run 195/50's on my fanblade 15's though. Hope that helps and I hope I've got my maths right.

  13. I would think the wider tyre wall would compensate for the smaller rim diameter?? Someone else may confirm this or not...

  14. As said above, the C4 was designed to be a compromise between pottering around and giving it the beans all the time so it's a very smooth, linear delivery of power, you'd hear it better with the exhaust you've mentioned I'd have thought, though an air filter/induction kit will definately let you know it's working! The Tegiwa carbon intake has to be my favourite for noise! But an Integra Type R (ITR) airbox is a forum favourite for subtle and making decent power! Hope you manage to sort the oil leak! Just keep on top of the levels if you can't look at it just yet!
