Good advice mate..Auto trader has got mostly 1.6 aerodecks..thing is i am not in a hurry to change as I love my MB2 and I have done so much effort on making it look like the way it is..but now I know that insurance won't be much different if I get a VTI so I am more tempted to buy one..but I know it will be an Aerodeck for sure and it will be 1.8 for sure ..I think I will wait and hopefully something will come up that would be in good condition and good price...I don't mind travelling for it as it's the far ones that are cheap and well looked after2 points

Why didn't they correct the engine out the factory instead of selling you a repair kit when they f**k up?? You are a jammy git with all these bargains. Same again local breakers here are sooooo expensive.1 point

Seems the salt on the motorways really battered the MB3 this weekend. Instead of just one blob of bad lacquer on my bonnet, I now have about 4 or 5! Time for carbon wrap?1 point

I actually saw I was at the meet where this picture was taken. Glad the car has found its way onto Civic5.1 point

Worth cleaning out the PCV valve, if its blocked or the flap in it is seized it can cause blue smoke.1 point

Had a look through all the paperwork (Which there is a LOT) and saw some good bits. Many invoices from garages for services Quite a lot of misc service bits, oil, filters etc Several receipts from KwikFit for tyres, balancing etc A SuperSprint exhaust system (Totals about £400) And a Sebring stainless steel backbox. (£190) I'm not sure the SuperSprint is still on the car though.1 point

My d15b is going to garage this weekend coming to get a rebuild. 😊 Cant wait to get it back.. Buy loads of uprated parts for it, paint it all and then drop it in sometime this yr.1 point

If I was mine I'd leave it standard, maybe a nice set of wheels at a push I think it's cool to see an 80's classic how it came from the factory:)1 point

Mine has got 119k on a w reg and I paid 750 for it and part exed my 200 quid scrapper Peugeot estate on it. I got a few other bits in with it. Authentically mines got no rust but it's full of dents and scratches but we'll looked after maintenance wise so it's swings and roundabouts as to weather you get one with good servicing or good body. If you find one that's got both being well looked after then be prepared to pay a bit more than what most people get theirs for. I was looking for a while and all I saw was the d series autos on the trader or ones that were 200 odd miles way. My opinion is go for it but tell him it's gonna cost you to tax it in a week so if he'll take 1050 and half a tank he'd be stupid to say no really The sense of achievement you will get for fixing the wheels (quick lick of paint) and fixing the minor rust (another easy fix looking at how little it is) will instantly make you think it's worth a lot more1 point

Cheers chaps. Bout time put something positive Up. Have got my love back for it now. Ordered thermal intake gasket set and some cam seals. So progress will be made soon. Also got some bargain mishimoto red rad hoses. Just need to order another cam end plug seal thing as adamant still got a leak there.1 point

We don't use words like that anymore chap and you really shouldn't keep them under your bonnet, that's just not nice. Tin of gloss black paint goes a long way, I've done my wiper arms and some under bonnet brackets and there's loads left, I need to find something else to paint.1 point

I want to be sure I don't have to visit it again anytime soon! Plus the cap and rotor should be done every three years according to the Haynes manual! Bet everything there is original!1 point

Had a quick blast. Normal driving I can't tell the difference. Under WOT it sounds great especially when VTEC kicks in. As for worthwhile performance gains it's likely to add nothing. I'm a firm believer in sealed airboxes with appropriate ducting. I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon and the stock airbox will be back on1 point

I found an ice scraper was good to use as mine was quite wide! Not that you get any snow or ice where you are1 point

You can try and find some plain black from a newer car or aluminium like ones from rover 45 I think.1 point

They look very nice chap. That's good and saves me from making my usual predictable comment about height, which means Sir Doc Brown will be happy.1 point
