  6. well service done. So took the old snail for a blast. can't get over how big slow and boaty it is. Haha. Loving it though! Gearbox is better than any one of the 72 gearboxes I had before. Which is nice vtec Works as should and no smoke which is also nice. and I can fit a bookcase in the back. Sweèet! @simpo cleaned the k n cone I had on the mb6 years ago and slapped that on. Sounds lovely

  10. Im sure it aint slower than a hatch.. same engine in the eg.. albeit modified. Was soooo much more responsive.. had soooo much more mid range and top end grunt. And obviously the car was half ton lighter and had the whole scalectrix thing going on. loving the deck just wish was in a better position to mod it. Gonna have to wait with this one.

  19. Quite like that, not gone all out on the VTi-S kit but it goes well with the VTi front lip nicely.

  23. Good choice, man! I think this is what'll eventually happen to most mb6 drivers... sooner or later they realise decks superiority in all aspects . Glad to see you back in the m game .

  24. Yeah it was on eBay a few weeks ago which is where I saw it. The exhaust was the most embarrassing thing I'd ever seen, managed to knock off a decent amount from the price because of it . The ToyoSports one is much more subtle but it's not nearly as loud in Vtec. No rattles though

  25. I've driven both, if you go Sweden you get nice and easy (but a bit boring!) highways all the way to Stockholm... but the overnight ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki is pretty good party! On the other hand the roads in Poland and the Baltics are pretty good these days, we did Tallinn-Warsaw last may in a minibus and i don't see a problem why a convoy of low civics wouldn't make it... plus it's definitely more interesting in the things to see along the way department! So my advice would be to get the best of both worlds: one route in, the other one out. That would be a nice 11 countries on one go!

  26. So steadily chewing through the list. Today had a good mate deal with the following: CambeltWater pumpCoolant changeCenter console installed (I couldn't get those rusty bolts out!) Yum! New parts! Old one didn't look too bad! Well that looks like crap! Glad it's changed now. I should be getting it back tomorrow as he's going to take a look underneath and hopefully get it tracked. He commented that he the found drive a little skittish! Dom (Torque1320) advised to get a some extra bits: Water hoses - The ones in the car were not as firm as the original ones so were replaced at some point.Fuel filter changeSpark plug change - Have new plugs, need to changeGearbox oil change - Have oil need to change Here's a more stripped down priority list and progress report: ABS - Picking up a second hand ABS pump and ABS ECU this weekendDrivers side mirror - Fitting when weather is goodPassenger wing mirror glassAirCon - Pump, bracket, tensioner and torque mount purchased but need bolts and fittingNew tyres x 4 - See how tracking goesNew spare wheel tyreNew car key - Might be getting 3 keys and whole lock set including all barrels, transponder thingy and ECU for the price of one new key! We'll see how this pans out this weekend.Sun-roof rubber seal - Should be picking up this weekend = £10 for the seal... and sunroof!Front passenger lower fog light - awaiting stock from breakersExhaust - It was blowing but I hate the boy racer tip at the end - so found a decent second hand one.Good thing is that the engine seems to be in good condition and has seen regular oil changes. I'm getting happier as things are starting to get fixed and can't wait until its more about the drive and going fast safely... but fast again.

  30. It will allow me to use DC2 ARB's and a lot more adjustment as the ARB itself can be lowered and raised to match the ride height of the chassis to keep the arms straight. With the LCA's on the car already I have multiple pickup points to allow a subtle stiffening/softening of the ARB and I will get some adjustable drop links. Finally, linking the ARB to the rear suspension instead of the Rover L brackets ties everything in properly so for what I am doing I think it will be worth it, but for normal road use I think this is way too much effort. I am also a little bit crazy to do all this in the first place but life would be boring otherwise!!!

  31. Some Finished off the plugs and counterbored the new holes approx 5mm in per side to match the measurements on the chassis So the brace goes on the chassis (just) but hits the rear ABS sensor bolt holes so didn't sit flush with the subframe So angle grinder to the rescue (I hate cutting the chassis!) Brace now sits flush and I could drill the ARB holes in the subframe. AS you can see the upper hole in the frame still sits off the subframe so I'll machine a small spacer to make up the difference. Next job is to make up some infill pieces for the sub frame, weld them in and paint over. The kit came with a piece to mount inside the subframe to give threaded inserts to bolt the ARB to, these too have to modified slightly but that's 5 minutes with a saw and a file. Too much work, wouldn't recommend this to anyone!
