  1. No worries. Generally speaking if something comes direct from China and is a lot cheaper than usual UK rep I would be suspicious. When larger sellers make a big deal about something being made in Japan they should be legit (fake sellers generally don't want to increase their risk in this way). It is important to remember that not everything made in China is bad and not all Japanese tuning parts are up to Spoon Sports levels of quality control, to put it mildly. Funky power also do them if you prefer not to ebay. http://www.funkypower.co.uk/catalogue.php?make=HONDA&model=JAZZ&year=GD1+JAZZ+1.4&level1=WHEELS+%26+TYRES&level2=WHEEL+ACCESSORIES&level3=LUG+NUTS&id_product=7798 H-tune are a good shop, but even the best hardened alloy nuts really work best with extended wheel lugs as far as I know- and people will try to nick em!
  2. These ones are ok- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Muteki-MU-41885L-MUTEKI-20-M12x1-50-CLOSED-PURPLE-NUTS-/261117927273?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item3ccbd75f69 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MUTEKI-M12-x-1-5-OPEN-SPLINED-PURPLE-TUNER-WHEEL-LUG-NUTS-PACK-OF-20-KEY-Z1545-/230791140808?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item35bc3955c8 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MUTEKI-M12-x-1-5-CLOSED-SPLINED-PURPLE-TUNER-WHEEL-LUG-NUTS-PACK-OF-20-Z1544-/330843592503?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item4d07d09737
  3. Awesome!- I really, reallly hope you mean that literally- http://80shero.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/aero-era.html
  4. No, unless you only do shows, don't do track days, have a non marring socket and dont like taking your wheels off much. Those ones are almost certainly fakes also (not that it really matters much). Muteki on the other hand are great!
  5. Try it- it's your lip and your car. If you spend time getting it to fit nicely it's not wasted. The car is looking great at the moment- I really like the Rotas, the lip kit in black, the fly eyes and the flat paint. I think you should possibly put some black paint on the rear drums; they detract from the overall stealthy look of the car.
  6. Possibly just no longer available, my problem may of course have been Brighton Honda being rubbish- it might be worth having a phone around or asking John Banks. I was surprised that it couldn't be replaced because it looks like it just pulls off. Quite likely- all the other windows are the same pattern. Not actually tried it myself though.
  7. You may want to sit down for this one- They cant be separated from or supplied without the glass. £375 + vat iirc when I enquired at my local Honda. You may want to find one from a breaker thats in a slightly better condition. Don't hold you breath though all the original seals on breaking cars will all be on their way out by now. I gave up looking and siliconed mine shut.
  8. Audi block with a Porsche head . I had been avoiding them obviously and vaguely looking for an 944/924S but it seems the VAG one is the one to have oddly. Don't worry I'll be back on to Alfa's next week or something even more random!
  9. No- this is fun; guess what autos**te I'm looking at! I can't afford to run an RX7 FC but I like the look, so in a move that is pure 80's derived irony I am considering the car it blatantly ripped off
  10. Why? Is it French! Not that bad, it may umm.....involve a van engine
  11. Why have you managed to get you're MA9 on one? Hell no, for some of the reasons detailed above the Prelude plan is looking less likely and I have been considering a different GT car altogether. You wouldn't like it...
  12. I was in Brighton Honda the other week (waiting for them to find a bolt that is only used on about every Honda ever; that they then had to order ). I was looking at the Jazz thinking wtf is wrong with that car- then I realised I am only 5'8" (and a bit ) and I couldn't see over the top of it; its the size of a freaking minibus. Also whoever came up with classic car insurance is a flippin genius!
  13. But you're not driving James, just moving yourself from one place to another. Modern cars are useful if there is no bus and you need to get somewhere in comfort with the security of airbags and listening to the radio. They are not going to enhance your life in most cases unless you are spending large amounts of cash (or are a scene junkie e.g. new mini/fiat500 drivers) on performance figures. I would possibly exclude Alfa and Ginetta/Caterham/kit cars from this, though they are just as likely to ruin your life as enhance it. Yes most of us would but the reason would be because we wouldn't have to spend time thinking/ worrying about the car so much. A TDI estate is just a thing that does a job, it either works well or doesn't work (I am generally including my aerodeck in this modern category btw) it is not something by which you would define yourself or your lifestyle. I would say that although I'm not a huge fan of the GT86/BRZ maybe new general market cars are beginning to head in the right direction again. This direction does seem distinctly retro.
  14. Ahh No, just saw this after ordering 4 toyo T1R's (fell for the hype im afraid) oh well as long as they were good while they lasted its ok, cheap enough aswell. just have to see how they go, gota be an improvement on the budgets i used to have. thanks all. don't get me wrong, there are better tyre's out there, but at the same time there are a hell of a lot worse, and also thinking about it, i'm comparing knackered toyo's @1.7 mm with brand new uniroyal's with 8mm of tread on them, and they were what came with the car, the car before that had michelin's energy's on it (185/60/14) over what's on it now (195/50/15) so it's a lot different... people do rate them, and they are keanly priced.. I like the T1-R's they are cheap, soft, grippy, reasonably quiet, reasonably comfy and predictable. They don't last that long but at about £35 a corner who cares?
  15. Superflex part no SPF0306K is a confirmed fit for the drop links, but any for the MG ZS/Rover 400/ EG civic should fit. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300730503225? ... 1438.l2649 For the ARB bushes I think the size of mine (MB9) is 25mm, maybe the MB3 has a smaller bar- probably 21mm if it is.
  16. How? They were in so much debt and they now want to change it?!?!? Hopefully there will be an update on GT5 http://www.bridgetogantry.com/2/index.p ... t-the-ring 'Tis only resurfacing apparently- the German words with metre figures next to them are existing sections of the track and a indication of the length of the new surface. I am suprised they can afford it though- perhaps it's in secret preparation for turning it into a car park/retail units/ business park a la Brooklands . Good idea to use the fuel tank to drop the COG, I think the level of detail on this build will pay big dividends in the end result.
  17. Check its not being caused by loose items in the boot or spare wheel well. Could also be rear doors or tailgate loose on the locks/ loose brake shield/ loose shock top mounts. Most likely candidate is the trailing arm bush- usually more of a dull thud than a metallic sound, easy to check visually. Otherwise knackered bush on the lower control arm (probably shock mount).
  18. Nice job! The oem flaps are rubbish looking, too chunky and my old ones held muddy water against the bottom of the wing. Yours look spot on It's a shame Carbon mods seem to have stopped making these mini flaps- http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/Products/ca ... -of-2.aspx

Why? How much slimmer are you than 7"? In may case it's 'not at all' unfortunately.
  20. Centre punch on the exposed part of the bolt (a hard nail will probably do it) then use a HSS drill bit (smaller than the threads a 3 or 4mm is probably what you want in this case). Go fairly slowly with a fair amount of pressure (be careful HSS drills tend to snap easily) use WD40 to stop it getting too hot. The heat from drilling though sometimes helps loosen the bolt. You can replace them with the Rover item which is better and has a proper bolt head believe it or not .
  21. pozidrive no2 socket attachment (though I think they may be Phillips no2 from memory). They do go right through which is the problem, I had to drill them out on the old MA8 as the heads came straight off. If the heads do come off remove the plastics and you may be able to shift them with WD40, heat and mole grips.
  22. To get near that money it would have to be an absolutely mint low miles vti-s MC2. If the seller realises you know these cars and what you're looking for (and therefore are likely to give a quick clean sale) they'll be keen to do a deal; he's probably had a few tyre kickers round already messing him about.
