Car Cleaning/Polishing/Waxing Chit Chat
Chandler replied to james's topic in Body/Electrics/Interior
all i can say is why?!?!?! your wrecking your paintwork if you use fairy liquid!! you can buy some cheap CAR shampoo from halfords or even most food stores like asda, tesco, sainsburys maybe. can pick up some less than a fiver if you compare using fairy liquid and some shampoo thats actually used for the job, you will see a big difference in how your paintwork comes out. if your low on money a really handy tip is when your other half ent looking, pinch some of their conditioner, does the same job (so im told) and its better than using fairy liquid. rant over james, i dont know if bilberry is acid based but will find out. i dont use any rinsing aids apart from the hose. (might be because i have got that much wax on the car ) yep used autoglym rinse, brilliant stuff, but sometimes on a quick wash i'll use autoglym Aquawax which is really good, quick and gives a great finish will definately have ti get some piccies up of the bits and pieces i use -
ok mate, will do tomorrow when i come see you

Pre wash using a pressure washer all round wheels aswel Then clean 2 wheels at a time using autoglym acid free wheel cleaner Then another rinse over to make sure it's all nice and moist Then I wash using autoglym car shampoo. I then rinse off using pressure washer Then use the sheet method Finally I use a drying towel. While slamming doors and boots -

Car Cleaning/Polishing/Waxing Chit Chat
Chandler replied to james's topic in Body/Electrics/Interior
i only use a MF pad for cutting as i do an all in one and seems to work the best for me, if i have time i'll use a foam finishing pad, if not it'll be by hand. i only use the tape the unwanted areas i dont want to go on, little bits of tape to know where I'm going to plus a brush to freshen the pads up -

people say to learn with rotary, but atleast with a DA you can really go wrong and you can use a 1 or 2 pad system, where as if your doing a full correct you need atleast 3 pads for Rotary. im just starting out properly and haven't really got money for another machine!! will upload pics when i can find them on my computer -
