  1. Did the ZS 180 suspension mod with rear anti-roll bar about 6 months ago and the car feels like its on rails, a vast improvement over standard. Ride height is slightly lower in my case but not huge and as my car is used on all types of road from shopping to transporting my mountain bikes and dog, I'm glad there is plenty of clearance. The ride quality although firmer is not harsh and that includes being on 17" wheels. I thought I'd give you my experience with the mod as it seems some are having issues with the ZS setup, which is a shame, as I found it a fantastic upgrade. I'm wondering if there are other issues with the problem cars, as I feel the std setup is so soft it would mask other problems, e.g, worn bushes , joints etc, where the stiffer ZS stuff would show them up. Also I would always check the geometry after fitting any major suspension change. Just a thought. As far as CW Dismantlers is concerned, I can't fault them.
  2. The Civic has just passed its mot, no issues. My dogs are chuffed.
  3. I changed the LCA's and all the suspension to MGZS all at once so the difference was amazing, totally changed the car. The bushes in my standard LCA's where completely shot so there was going to be improvement. I have to say the Cyberspeed LCA's are well made and look the dogs on the car. I have to agree with you regarding CW Dismantlers, a very professional outfit, highly recommended.
  4. Spent most of today's lovely sunshine, stuck in the garage refitting the Meta CAT 2:1 alarm from my old ESi into the VTi. There was a Toad in the VTi but it ran off the original Honda keyfob, which as you know is infra red, so poor range, and I only have one. The Meta has radio transmitters and I have 2 of them, (always a benefit). Been out of the alarm fitting game a while now, and it took a little longer to fit than I remember, maybe I'm getting old. Also fitted a K&N filter and replaced some corroded fasteners under the bonnet to stainless steel. Sorry no pictures guys, I just couldn't wait to finish today. MOT on Saturday, so hopefully no surprises. Wish me luck.
  5. Thought I'd seen everything. Guy must be one short dude. On a different note, I might fancy a change to the Civic. Of course it will still have to have space for the dogs, http://youtu.be/9Nrgvkx9XPE Not sure on the day to day driveability though.
  6. 20's on the Aerodeck, mmmmmmmmm. It'd look more than wrong! Wouldn't surprise me if some madman had tried it.
  7. yep! cheers! i like my pink lights everybody seems to have ice white or yellow so decided to be different ive got a whole selection of sidelights blue, white, amber, pink and ive had green before. i guess im a light whore Light Whore, I like that. NIce mods, keep up the good work.
  8. Loved all my Nissans but the S13 & S14 were the most fun. May get one again someday, although quite happy with the Civic at the moment.
  9. Quick update on some more bits for the Deck. And managed to get some cheap rims. The wheels are off a Hyundai Coupe and do need a refurb, but my mate paints wheels so they will be different soon. Any suggestions on a colour. Here's a sample of my friends work, these are 20's for his T5 transporter, he just needs to finish the rims of the wheels.
  10. Pembrey Country Park. Very handy for dog walking.
  11. The ESi was a great little runaround. Many a time it was loaded down to the bumpstops. It actually on one occasion towed 3/4's of a ton of aggregate, not recommended. The missus actually used to call it trucky.
  12. Even though the Pulsar was a beast it was the most unreliable and the worst to work on. I had it 18months and half of that time it was off the road.
  13. With the s15 six speed box too MMMMMM, yes. Can I afford another project car, No
  14. Out of all the Nissan's the S13 was my favorite. I'd love to own the japanese 180SX, which is the S13 with the SR20DET motor out of the S14, now that would be perfect. I think there is so many ex 200 owners owning Honda's because once you go Jap you never go back, and there is of course the fact that Honda's are so much more economical than the 200's
  15. I loved my turbo'd Nissan's. Had 4 in all, S12, S13, S14 and the Pulsar. All were modded to various states of tune. The bikes are something else. I only passed my test in 1999 but since then Ive had quite a few. Started with a Yamaha Thundercat just after passing my test but then went on to litre bikes. I've had a Suzuki TL1000R (Big Twin), 2001 Yamaha R1, Aprilia RSV and 2 Suzuki GSXR 1000 K5's. The K5's are beasts, could never get used to the power, absolutely awesome machines. I'm quite lucky as I don't live too far from Pembrey Race Circuit, so I've done quite a few trackdays on the bikes. Wouldn't mind doing a car one in the future. The shocks aren't new, I got them from ebay. The seller was CW Vehicle Dismantlers, but they are in very good condition. Can't fault the seller at all, highly recommended. The LCA's though are from MeisterR, another fantastic seller. I'll put a photo up as soon as I can with the rear anti roll bar fitted.
  16. Hi, Guys and Gals. Though I'd start a project thread, so be gentle, it's my first time and I am a newbie to the forum . Our car is an Aerodeck VTi and was bought 2 years ago as we fancied a change from our 1.6ESi Aerodeck. The ESi was a good car but lacked power and handling and my girlfriend and I have always had performance cars and bikes, so it was a bit boring. My backround has always been all things automotive, but I haven't had a project car now for about 5 years. My last one was a Nissan S14 and was a demo car for my business at that time, which was a small car tuning company down here in West Wales. Now as you can gather from the title of my thread the car is primarily a taxi for my 2 dogs, so don't expect the cleanest of cars, and yes it does have a dog cage(Genuine Honda mind you) and a roof rack for my mountain bike. Here's a few pics, Mods so far include, Cyberspeed rear LCA's, MGZS front and rear shocks and springs and MGZS anti roll bar. Car already had a cobra cat back exhaust on it when we bought it. Next mods I think will be a quick shift and induction kit. Here's a few pics of some my previous toys. So to the VTi. My ultimate goal would be to turbo or super charge it. I don't want silly power, around 230-250bhp would be nice, so we'll see how it pans out. By the way the forum is great, keep it up guys.
  17. I can't really say anything bad about Goodridge. I've used their brake & clutch lines on several cars, sportsbikes and even my mountain bike with no probs whatsover. Can't comment on HEL, but for me I'd always go Goodridge.
  18. I'm changing the rear LCA's on my VTi Aerodeck and fancy some nice aftermarket items. I know from reading the forum that fitting Civic EG items and changing/modding the suspension bush is the way to go to get them to fit the Aero's narrower shock fork. Just wondering if any of you out there have fitted aftermarket ones and what supplier or issues you may have had in fitting. This is my first mod to the Aerodeck but not the last. Many Thanks and a great forum guys, keep up the good work
