I wonder was that done to make it look like a facelifted MG ZS rear? -
If it's a £500 excess and repairs will be less than £500 don't even notify Aviva of it. If they open a claim it can affect any No Claims Discount if renewal is due soon, even if the claim is going to be closed at nil. They can sometimes hold stuff like that against you incase you try and reopen the claim again after renewal date. £220 aint bad. Remember it also covers for third party injury, which is alot more than £220

Good to hear there's a change he's been ID'd Also I don't see how Aviva can get out of it. I've just been through the policy wording on their website and according to it it's covered (at least after whatever excess is on the policy). There's also no exclusion for locked compounds.

What sort of cover is on the Stagea? Third Party Fire and Theft if they won't pay out for the damage? Edit: Even if it was Third Party Fire & Theft cover this is what's on their website in relation to third party fire and theft cover. "Applies only to loss or damage caused directly by fire, theft or attempted theft (subject to limits and excesses)" So they cover damage for attempted theft. I wonder where in the policy it excludes damage whilst in a locked compound? It's def worth going over the policy documents with a fine tooth comb.

I can't believe the initial intentions of this thread but I'll leave it at that You have to be a permanent resident in the UK for at least 185 days before you can exchange an Irish licence for a UK driving licence. Also as already mentioned any motor convictions would need to be declared when obtaining insurance.

Apparently the wheel on that Golf survived ok. Just the wing needs repaired. He put the back wheels on the front and did another run later in the day. A car def has to be mapped to it's mods. I need to get mine remapped again however finding a reliable VAG custom mapper in Northern Ireland is difficult. I'd love to take it to MRC for a good map, however they are in Banbury so I need an excuse to bring it across to England at some point. MRC are probably the best Audi tuners in the UK. I'd own their S4 tomorrow if I could

Sure it's a few lbs lighter now. That's bound to be worth a few tenths at the traffic lights

I've been huffing all weekend after a disappointing day at a local rolling road day. The S3 came off the rollers with a strange looking graph and 1bhp down from last year, even with a new turbo pipe and better downpipe. The rolling road folks said it was the quattro system being confused with the rollers, but at the same time I think there was more to it. You can see it reads like an epileptic tried to draw a straight line and the big dip around 3,000rpm. I think I'm going to garage it for most of the winter and I'll start gathering up a few bits and pieces. I'm going to get larger coil packs off a newer 2.0 TFSI engine and arrange for a new map on the car. I've never been able to find out what map was originally on it and I'm wondering how restrictive it is following the changes I've done to the car. I can't really complain though. One of the organisers put his 540bhp mk3 Golf on the roller and it blew a tyre at a recorded 223mph!

I shouldn't admit this but I'd have reservations buying a car from there too and it put me off buying a nice looking Lupo GTI a few months ago. Keep the chin up. As someone with recent experience, now is the best time to get a good look over the car and spend a few quid on getting it the way you want it, then you'll know you'll have a good one.
