What about this? I found this comprehensive Rover/MG parts site which says the trunk seals for MG ZS/Rover 400 are not available. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID003397 I copied the part code and Googled it and found this for £35.66 http://www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk/mg-rover/mg-rover-cke100940-seal-trunk-lid/ Whatchoothink? And sorry, I don't want to step on the toes of John Banks Honda

Oops. I forgot to copy the pic in to the thread. I don't have one 10000rpm????? lol

Eh? You'd rather pay more for Honda parts if there is a cheaper MG/Rover alternative? That would be pretty stubborn lol

Illuminated electric window buttons
feck_on_a_stick replied to feck_on_a_stick's topic in Electrical
I'm going to have to have a proper look at the switches and have a think about it. I must have lay in bed last night for about an hour trying to think it through and getting annoyed they don't light up already lol -
Possibly potential savings there if they do fit?
-
I wonder how all that work and expense would translate to actual real world gains? I suppose this only really appeals to a limited number of people. Slightly off topic though..... Can that manifold heat shield fit easily enough to our engine?
-
I just fell off my chair Do MG/Rover ones not fit?

Has anyone ever modified their electric windows buttons to illuminate them? The positioning of them is high up no my list of the most annoying features on the MB, particularly in the dark. I'm not thinking of drilling holes in the car if I can help it, but wondering if positioning an orange led somewhere behind each of the buttons would filter through enough light around the buttons to give them a bit of a glow? I know very little about electronics so wondered how easy this would be. Any thoughts?

Just out of interest, what sort of price for everything? PM me if you don't want to publicize it.....or don't if it's none of my business

Sounds like alot of money on rubber Where are you ordering your weather strips from?

I'm contemplating resealing the tail lights when sealing the windscreen, but you are probably right about the boot seal I was a bit miffed about the box. Put me off ordering from ECP again if I can help it.

Frickin leaks! A few weeks ago I washed the car and hoovered my carpets and discovered the hoover was just lifting water from the passenger side. It was soaking. I unscrewed some of the trim and peeled the roof lining just enough to see lots of condensation under the metal roof I've checked the channel from the sunroof and it looks ok. I've always suspected the windscreen had been replaced and so I'm going to try and reseal the top of the windscreen and see if that fixes it. Whilst I was checking for leaks I also found a small puddle in the boot but can't figure out where it's coming from. Can anyone tell me what use this vent is in the left side of the boot and if it could possibly let in water? I'd also ordered a new pollen filter. As it's a bit of a pain to replace I wasn't sure when it was last done so for the sake of a few quid I figured I'd just replace it. The nice delivery man chucked the box over my back fence on a rainy day so I came home to find a nice soaked box and contents The filter itself was dry thankfully and fitted using the dummies guide on here. Easy Finally, and most importantly I got sorted with a DC2 air box thanks to 10000rpm on here, for a far better price than eBay I ordered a replacement OEM filter, washed and cleaned the air box and dressed it with Meguias engine dressing. Can't wait to get it on now. It was too wet and windy last night

Me too, although I think it might be a reflection if you're thinking of the rear arch in particular. Something I don't like about that GTR I'm afraid. Maybe it is just the reflections off the car but it kinda looks like a melted plastic car to me. The shape of the roof looks odd too. Is it a photoshop or maybe just heavily edited?

Pull the trigger .....and then sell me those fogs!

Any idea how many of those cans you'd need to do the whole car? -
The engine bay is looking lovely and clean. I've got repainting by radiator brackets on my to-do list as well.

My Audi wheels sit really far in as well and if I hang on to it I've every intention of getting 16mm spacers for the rears. My own thoughts on why they sit in so far is that any further out and the rear of the car will be more susceptible to stone chips from debris thrown up from the tyres. I could be very wrong though. That plastidip clear looks like a fantastic job for a silver car -
For any of you not on Facebook...unseen Mb pic!

I like that alot, although the only small thing I don't like is that I've never been a fan of window stickers -
The knob looks so much better than either of the stock ones. I'm not a fan of either. What's the new one off? A DC2? Wheel looks well too How does it grip, compared to the stock wheel? I think there is a new member on here looking a standard wheel if you were going to sell your old one.

Thanks Matty I downloaded the service book off the site and found the adjusting screws. They needed 10 full rotations and still not fully at height. I'll keep slowly increasing them over the next few days until someone starts flashing at me lol

We all love small boxes dont we? eh? eh? Am I right? Wink wink nudge nudge. Anyways, I figured it's about time I properly joined up to see what I'm missing in the VIP Section.

I've a damp interior as well so keeping an eye on you folks buying replacement seals. How much though for replacements?!?!? Might as well lube them up and stick them up my @rse as I won't get any other pleasure from paying that sorta money just to stop some water getting into the car ffs!

Sorry to hear about your points dude First time points though? Possibly too fast for speed awareness course though. I think it's under 10mph over the limit to get on the course. On the plus side, the Vito is a lovely looking van. How fast can they go? lol

I use a rubber spatula as a trim removal tool lol
