Best way to de-chrome grill surround?
feck_on_a_stick replied to vtec2011's topic in Body/Electrics/Interior
What about giving the chrome trim a rub with wet and dry or something to give the paint something better to stick to? -
Great idea. Smooth lines FTW! Might get an extra 1mph on top speed too

I like this mod. It's been a long time since I've driven a car with the indicators on the right, but as said it's the right side for them
-
I'm usually alone with my steamy passenger windows. Nobody wants to get in the Chavic with me for some reason
-
lolol you could be right I agree that it looks like alot of work for little gain. To be honest, I've never had a problem with just reaching over to the radio anyway. The layout of the window controls bugs me alot more; in fact that is one of my biggest annoyances with the MB6 lol It'd purely have been more for looks than function.

hmmmm......I wonder can the buttons just be removed from an Accord wheel and fitted to a Civic wheel or if the contours of the buttons would look sheeeeite on a smaller wheel. I think it would look the bees knees if I went for an OEM+ look. I might have to keep my eyes out for a cheap wheel to work on just to see. Here is is without the airbag
-
Were these ever an option? I see Accords from back in the day had pretty limited radio controls but assume these wheels are too big and don't fit Civics?

Car looks well dude. Nice to see another local VTI-S on here Looks more like an ATR spoiler to me.

Me too

I must just be really tight

To be honest I'd rather something with a smaller tailpipe. I just think it's a tad too big.

It always was kinda too loud for me to be honest for general pottering about. High up the revs it does make me smile though. I've noticed with this car though more than any other that I've owned that people will have a go at me when I pass them in VTEC. I'm talking about just regular driving too, not hooning. Which reminds me; I didn't realise how much the FN2 Type-Rs weight hurts it until I had a go against one recently whose owner didn't take too kindly that I was passing him on a dual carriageway. I've been watching them on eBay and would be a real possibility if I could find one that's been modified properly as I think the loop needs trimmed to fit and hangers moved. Alot of money to chop one up. I'm not so fussed on the copies My S2000 had a twin loop system as standard and was exactly what I wanted; subtle to look at, quiet round the town and noisy enough in VTEC.

For those that bought a DC2 airbox, what sort of money did you pay for them? I've seen a few on eBay over the last couple of months from between £80-£100. I don't think I'm really ready to pay that kind of money.

Anyone any thoughts on what realistic difference in power I might expect just putting a standard backbox on the car? I'm guessing any loss in power would be negligible? At the moment I've a full 2.5" system and no cat. I'm guessing I'd need to modify the backbox to fit on the 2.5" piping, so assume there will be some restriction in flow there, but other than that? Hopefully over the next 12 months I'll be adding more things to improve flow up front. Ultimately I want something subtle looking and quiet under 4.5k rpm. In VTEC I'm happy for something that still screams away like a mofo though.

Yep that guy from here also sold them on eBay as that's where I got mine. His eBay name was wernert1086

I love these too. Very nice I used to always drool over a red one near me.

Extreme? I hope that car was just done as a joke because it's just ridiculous Each to their own and all that but when you want to do something so extreme like that to a car's look, why stop at the wheels? Why not put some of those massive wings on it like those crazy Japanese buses? The owner should really spend some time and money sorting out that wonky exhaust instead ffs I just can't look at that photo anymore. It just makes me want to smash up my screen and set fire to it. .............................and relax

Jeez. Glad you're getting somewhere with it. For £150 you'd hope that will do the trick. I can't believe it's even that much!

Project TDi Bora... Plastidip...eh yeah .... Dont do it

Highline Boras are lovely. I'd looked at a 1.8T version last summer as a runaround in Raven Blue with leather Recaros. I know this sounds sad, but the closing heater vents are just sexual -
That's what I was thinking too. I don't know why they'd be set so low unless someone had the lights off before for some reason and just fired them back on.
