  1. Nothing showing on the oil cap but apparently it was smoking a little at Crail but I haven't seen the video yet (not sure it will help it's apparently a bit shaky as it was taken from the car chasing me) I'm gonna do a full gasket change when I've got the cash anyway seeing as it's probably never been done
  2. Small update on this, looks like simp was right about the oil filter filling up, it is however still using oil but very slowly now
  3. I'm using oem leads at the moment but magnicores are on my list, ive got standard copper ngk ' s I have heard really bad things about iridium plugs apparently if they f**k up they can do serious damage to the engine
  4. This, im really not a fan of fords but that version is a cracking wee car

Yeh I'm sure, he bought the shell and had the engine already. It came out of an EG that another one of our mates crashed (wasn't the original engine in that either as far as I know) He's planning dc2 cams etc but hasn't done it yet
  6. Haha let me know how the projectors get on in the mot, im sure I'm not the only one who's curious

No idea but I can tell you that a mate of mine who was running a DC2 with a B18c4 in it (so the main differences between him and me was his skunk2 inlet manifold, exhaust manifold and the fact that he's about 200 kilos lighter) got 14.47 @98.5mph so there's a lot of potential in that engine Edit: his tyres were pretty good too
  8. Aye 'tis, got the wheel bearing done on Saturday to, just in time for Banzai yesterday
  9. Jayhoath83 sorry for the slow reply, yeh the strutbrace is a direct fit, i got mine from Unit6 spares in perth, he nearly always has some lying around and only wanted £15 for it, and im sure he would post it if you needed. The flywheel was ok in the end, as it happend the clutch its self wasnt all that bad if a little thin it was just the bearing that was shot to b****ry.

Thought this was relevant in this thread Banzai Crail Thrash & Dash yesterday, don't think the wee civic did to badly to be honest (for anyone who doesn't know, induction kit exhaust and coilovers but otherwise stock, and sitting on seriously cheap w****r tires)
  11. can i have your old lights? joking aside, this job is fairly high on my to do list now, pretty sure the rear passenger isnt working at all now :S where are you getting your calipers refurbed?
  12. Haha, had to leave some air space as a few of the boxes had living things in them.

Got my mb6 up to 135 once and ran out of road so had to back off, but it was still pulling at that point. My last car was a saab 900S which I had at 130 at one point but none of those come close to being as terrifying as just managing to touch 100 in a smart 4/2 down hill with a wind behind it ^^ that was bloody scary
  14. Are lowly hatch owners allowed to stuff Edit:can someone fix that pic, on my phone and can't remember how to do it manualy
  15. to be fair, just about every plasti dip supplier or advocate does say that you need at least 5 coats, so the fact that it didn't work properly with only a couple isn't all that surprising

    VW Caddy

looking good, have to a admit i was a little disappointed after reading the topic title that it wasn't a mk1 caddy however for a practical purpose they are very good little vans
  17. well yes but unfortunately at the time i was stuck away from the car and the boys that did the majority of the engine swap were doing it for as cheap as possible, ideally i would have loved to strip the engine completely while it was out of the car but just didn't have the time or the money
  18. yeh i know lol, i ment to do it much sooner but lack of cash and stupid bints running into the back of me always got in the way
  19. you mean the lights or the clutch? I got the lights from a mate who had bought them for his DC2 and discovered they didn't fit, not sure where they came from originally but they were a direct fit to the Honda bulb holders and the hole in the wing, as far as the clutch is concerned i have no idea but i would guess its the original one so its done about 130k if it is
  20. Small update, getting a new clutch put in tomorrow as the release bearing finally went after whining at me for over a year and judging by the amount of smoke that was pouring out of it after i limped it to a safe spot its taken the clutch with it. in the mean time..... Clear side repeaters!
  21. yeh agree'd, mine is the same acctually, when i start mine i have to turn the key back really slowly, if i just let go it stops. i see it as an extra anti theft feature and its hilarious when someone asks for a shot of the car and i say if you can start it you can drive it and then watch as they get more and more confused before i lean in and start it first time

    steering

They are a bit heavier than newer cars. It's probably you just arn't used to it, if it wasn't working believe me you would know lol you need to be built like a tank to park the b****rs without it, I drove mine for 6 months without power steering and I probably lost about a stone ^^
  23. I'd be tempted to buy an M and turn it into a monster lol, think what you could do with that budget
  24. awesome dude, ill be having a set in the future but not for a while as im flat broke at the moment, ill let you know when the time comes
  25. hmm ok ill monitor the situation for a few days and see if its still loosing as much and report back ^^
