yes.... when mine was assessed at the begining of the year when someone ran into the back of me (yes i know it hasn't been a good year) they phoned me with the results and said by the way theres "different suspension" on the car. I just claimed ignorance and said i bought the car like that and had no idea it had been changed, i got away with it because it was a non-fault claim and they were writing off the car anyway. i will however be making sure EVERYTHING is declared when i take out a policy with Sky, i hadn't actually intended to pull the wool over their eyes i just forgot about it as i had taken the policy out online

Not a bad idea that!

well i did try arguing with my insurance but they are refusing to fight it, basically saying "You ran into her, Your fault" guess im just going to have to suck it up. I was planning on changing insurance companies anyway but i defiantly will be now
-
a couple of times ive uploaded videos with soundtracks that youtube deemed unsuitable for copyright reasons and all they do is mute it
-
well thats the bad news, the other car is going to need a new rear bumper so nothing serious but the woman has claimed on the insurance and lied through her teeth about what happened and she had 3 other people in the car who are backing her up, I was on my own.... so yeh my insurance is gonna be interesting come renewal time
-
Thanks guys she looks a bit scruffy but it came out much better than I expected

Update time! right so here's the damage after the accident first step was to dismantle the front of the car to see how bad it was underneath luckily it wasn't nearly as bad as it looked to begin with and i managed to bend a lot of the sheet metal back to more or less the right shape by hand i decided that i was going to need: Slam Panel Crash Bar Headlights Bonnet the bumper although scuffed and tatty looking was still servicable for the moment and I will replace it at some point but right now I am focusing on Function over form so it doesnt need to look pretty so the first bit to arrive was the crash bar (thanks very much to James Hall for that one!) shortly followed by the slam panel (thanks very much to @10000rpm ) and a bonnet and headlights from Unit6 Spares in perth (freshly jetwashed) the headlighys while in good nick were very cloudy so i decided to split them and use the lenses from the old headlights which were still in one piece (the back of the headlights were all smashed) and while i was in there i got out some sandpaper and black spray paint (finished ) so now that i had all the bits it was time to put it all together, first step was getting the old slam panel off, which was harder than i thought it would be as there were a few more spotwelds than i realised. but eventually it came off the offending article on goes the new one! Then the new bonnet Then the headlights, crashbar and the old scruffy bumper I need to take the bumper off and adjust the crashbar at some point as it isn't sitting quite right but for the moment its working I did take the grill off the old bonnet but its a bit smashed around the mountings, i might be able to fix it at some point but ill probably just get a new one but for the moment I'm just leaving it off Thanks again to the folk who sent me parts stay tuned for next months Big Brake Overhaul! (and a little upgrade that will be a surprise )

ive got a pair of pattern lenses out of RHD lights, a couple of the screw points are broken but it should be possible to make them work, you can have them if you cover the postage i was about to put a post up about some headlight spares ive got lying around

As far as I know the vti's made after 2000 had the carbon effect trim, and if memory serves my 98 vti-s had the smoked version of the wood effect, as far as seats go all I know of is the 3 different levels of leather, no idea about fabric pattern

thanks @Grant she's in a bit of a sorry state at the moment but just waiting on one more bit arriving and i can start putting her back together lol -
I sense an experament comming.... I Don't know about our cars but generally estate versions of cars are faster in a strait line than the saloon or hatch versions as the shape is better aerodynamically (assuming both cars are stock or identical mods of course) So who's going to have a race? FOR SCIENCE!
