Errordeck
Hi there, greetings from Holland!I bought my Aerodeck in 2007, and have been adjusting, upgrading and improving my car since then. All work is done by myself, only the chipping/mapping of ecu the tuner did, and welding a friend of mine did.Hold on, it’s gonna be a long story haha..This is a picture of how it was at first:First things I adjusted was the open air filter and the exhaust manifold:(smoothed the header, elongated the lambda)Then swapped the d15z8 IM with the EGR for a d16z6 IM, portmatched it to 60mm and put a B16a2 60mm throttle body on it:Later on I turned the injectors around for a cleaner look, from:To:The OBD1 injectors were switched with a guy who had obd2’s and needed obd1’s..Next step was a mid-pipe from a coupe, which had to be modified to fit:I know, not the most pretty welds..This in combination with a home made steel decat:Then added vti-strutbarAnd made runninglights:Bought a P28 ecuWhich could click right on the wiring loom:Also bought a d16z6 esi head, for swapping the camshaft. Adjustable camgear I found at a salvage yard on a d15. Cost me €15…;Gathered al the requirements to do a mini-e (ie d16 sohc vtec camshaft in a d15 vtec-eThen went looking for the d15camshaft lol:And swapped it for a d16 sohc vtecThen bought T23 282mm brakes from a Prelude vtec and dismantled them:Took it apart:And painted the calipers and carriers;Calipers had to be grinded down a little to make them fit; Also added a brake stopper which got painted in color; Then found a ITR DC2 muffler in good shape, which had been modified to fit a coupe:We adjusted it to fit under the deck:Somewhere in between I also added a MB6 rear swaybar to improve the handlingI came across a Koni set, I cleaned en refurbished it:And put it under. From:To:Picked up this nice BSA wheels:Redid my grill:Replaced the noisy WAI with oem airbox with K&N filterAdded a rear tiebar;Found the VTI-S lipkit, that is, vti frontlip and vti-s skirts and rear lip which I had to make fit:Someone cut a hole in it for fitting aftermarket towbar (NOOB!!)So I had to get creative LOL. This is how it came out; Also added Climair wind deflectors:Replaced the vti strutbar with an ITR DC2 one:Bought a Tunerview, so I can monitor all the ecu’s doing; And fitted it in midsectionAnd then the fun really started, a work in progress:I bought a Eaton M62 charger, off a Mercedes Benz SLK, and took it apart;Bought K20 injectors, along with Xenocron adapters:Picked up a HKS BOVAnd a brand new IntercoolerCame across a nice ACT clutchsetSomewhere along the line I bought a spare d15 vtec-e engine to mock up the charger. It will be fitted at the aircopump spot.Bought a turbo header, which will be modified to clear the chargerTherefore also bought a turbo downpipe from UK lolAnd a 200cell racekat which will be soldLittle progress;Owh, ITR strutbar is replace with Ultra Racing 3point strutAnd front swaybar is swapped for a MB6 vti 26mm one.Bushings are all replaced by Energy Suspension ones. And recently found the VTI-s frontlip, which I will have to get painted. This week I bought Energy suspension torque mounts which I installed yesterday eveningSo…..Within a few weeks we will weld the exhaust side. Things to do:- exhaust- chargepiping- replace clutch (€€€)- tune it (€€€€€)So it will take a while. I also have 3 kids, so my family is my number 1 occupying. All of the above took place in a year or 3,5…Hope to have some fun at the forums. I changed a lot to the car and had to find out a lot by myself. For example, the suspension is equal to an EG civic, but for the rear LCA’s. EG’s fit, but they use a 5cm bushing for shock mount, whilst EK civic uses 4cm. MB’s do also, that’s one of those little annoying thing you come across whilst tuning.. Ppft.. long story…
