In fact. I've always been paranoid ever since owning this engine. It's really noisy. Ticky. But it always looks after me. Reliable. And responding well. I watched it bounce off the limiter 10 times today and not a hint of smoke at all. Not bad really it's covered over 120k miles. And I've punished it! Goes to show what good servicing does. New oil and filter every 3k max. And anything needed done straight away3 points

I remember someone boasting about their 2.0l car having a "mighty" 150bhp and I turned around and said "That's 10bhp down on my 1600 Honda!" (Had the EK then!)3 points

Think of it this way, you can spend the money on suspension, then at least when it doesn't run you can stare lovingly at it knowing your hard earned went into making it lower. Or you can put up with it being boat like a little longer but know you have peace and mind that she'll start first time, every time!3 points

Do it a bit at a time as you can afford to then! Start with the oil and filter, fuel and air filters, then plugs and leads, then cap and rotor if you need to etc etc!2 points

I was thinking more along the lines of a fight to the death. But an auction works.2 points

HI guys, nice to read about others experiences I thoroughly enjoyed mine! from being purposefully pushed faster and flung into slides, to the awesome noise from the gearbox and constant popping from the exhaust! here are some pictures that were taking on the day!2 points

It'll all be good man. Start spraying the bolts with wd now and get the wire brush on em. Then just give them a little tweak first and make sure when turning the head the bolts is turning in the captive nut, before it snaps.1 point

Ah magnecor leads look great mate. .I want ht leads and iridium spark plugs for mine but the combination at least is worth £76 and with magnecor it will be £106..so I keep delaying it for now lol .. looking forward to the USDM mod. . Should look proper nice with your car1 point
-
Shouldn't top up really mate and do the filters. Change the oil completely. Look around, Opie oils are pretty good for oil and filters. Cheap and quick delivery.1 point

It's like when I first got the VTi-S, needed a lot of maintenance work, still needs some but things that aren't vital to the cars running so I can afford to splash out on mods which I've done in spades recently!1 point

I'd expect it give you a reach around as well for that price!!!!What's that all about??1 point

If you don't know the history of the car mate, a full service should be top of your priority list.1 point

A well serviced Honda will last for a lot longer than 150k, well worth doing even if you use non oem parts, never under estimate the value of a service.1 point

I have just had a look on wiki and the 1.6 is a 1.9, so worse again... And they're only 112bhp. Our MB3's are 114bhp from a 1.5! Crazy Haha, least you have luxury whilst working on the rims. I might do the same actually Someone else on Facebook said "A 316 couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding" I thought you got it from there but I realized you don't do FB. I guess it's a common saying for the Beemer1 point

The drive shaft seals are likely causing your leak if it's oil. Can only order from Honda but not expensive. Definitely worth doing at same time. Save doing the whole job over again1 point
