  1. No further updates on this. Will be coming off road in the winter. May go turbo with it. Got an itch for a b series turbo that needs scratching.

Ok haven't updated this in a while. Engine is built and in the car, ECU has been sent to get a base map put on so I can fire it up and run in a few miles then dump the oil n change it. Placed order on 30th march for oils and gearbox oil etc, still no sign. After receiving a message saying its will be with you in 7-10 days I find this totally unreasonable as it has now passed that time frame and I could have bought the product elsewhere if I knew the delay! changed the RBC for one ported to 70mm, just need to port the throttle body adaptor to 70mm now. Also added a clockwise motion drop in sump baffle, BC racing coilovers and a carbon bonnet to the list. Alloys and rocker cover have been done a lovely black sparkle. I was eager to drop in the engine n box and get it running and didn't do much with the engine bay or engine itself. I may remove it again in the winter n clean it up n do the bay with fresh paint etc. tyres I got yoko ad08r as all rounders and won't wear out too quick I hope. went for 215-45-17. Look real chunky on the alloys. ECU is going to be k100 - Gearbox I had redone, now it is K20 gears with Mfactory LSD, Accord Type S 4.3 Final drive.

So the parts arrived but missing the crucial supertech valve seals, dual valve springs, retainers and whatever comes in the kit. Super pee'd off as the engine was dropped off at the builders to begin the build. Had a shocking quote of £500 for a 3" B pipe, still recovering from that. Should be able to get a nice one done for £250 ish as Solid Fabrications only wanted £280.. Great price for the quality of their work, just a bit tricky trying to drive there without an exhaust! Stripped the front end off the EP3, ready to drop out the engine complete with subframe.
  5. That's correct, you need a DC2 one.
  6. Looking mint, stick a private plate on it! looks too fresh for a 03 lol
  7. Your moving very quickly on this! Full leather, alloys, lowering, Vtis kit! and you said you wanted to take it easy on this one!! Some nice touches on it. Would go nice with a turbo fitted to it!

    Cops

I have never been stopped in my mb6's, but used to get pulled a lot in previous civics (ek4 and ep3) both with loud exhausts. Think they understand mb drivers are mature enthusiasts not boy racers! funniest moment when I was younger was when me and two friends went out racing. ep3 - eg k20 - accord type r, we pulled off the petrol station all tyres lit up giving it some, I spotted a police car right away behind us with sirens on so ducked into a side street, they stopped my friend in the eg k20 and gave him a section 59. we continued on through the night and on the way home we had another run on the highway, soon as we pulled off from the roundabout I spotted a police car and pulled onto a side road with the police chasing my friend in the eg k20.. I seen him later and apparently they caught up with him after 2 miles.. he pulled away so quickly he didn't see them for a few minutes as they were left so far behind. it was the same police car as earlier, they apparently reported him but he never heard back since and the eg k20 got sold on soon after that evening.
  9. I think I paid £120 or something fitted for a pair maz to my mb6 for the yokohama s-drives. They have great reviews on the net too. I've never driven my car harsh but I thought I'd see if I could spin up the tyres and they just gripped like heck. Also once had to swerve to avoid a car that randomly braked from 40 mph and the yokos were great, I managed to go around the car and cut back in and avoid the car from the opposite direction and a bollard..
  10. I've got the yokohama s-drives in 195-45-16 and they look sweet. Get decent tyres, they last longer and car drives better.
  11. Lambda/02 sensor is on its way out. For some reason they don't throw a code until they are fully dead.

Just a waiting game for the parts to arrive now, then build will commence. I've only got limited time so can only fiddle with the car on weekends for the next couple of months.

Intake wise, I've gone for the BLOX velocity stack (with additional filter). I'l be using stainless 3.5" pipe and a 3.5" to 3" reducer throttle body side. 3.5" intake and pipe work has been proven to have slightly better performance. Every time I say 'no more spending' something else crops up!!

Stripped the K24 block down ready for the engine builder. Found no signs of a failed block, hope is all well when engine is opened up! Apparently a 38k stocker.

Work begins first week of March. Waiting for the weather to improve a bit as no electricity at my mates unit. All parts have been bought/paid for so only a matter of putting everything together. So far I've managed to tidy up the interior and get the seats cleaned up. Car is filthy inside. once the engine n box are built, it will be quickly fitted and finished within couple of weeks.

  17. Keep pushing for the work to be done under warranty, if you can find a few posts online of others having the same issues and having it fixed under warranty then that would help! Also push the fact that the car has only been touched by Honda and these issues have always been there!

That's incorrect as stated above with a quote from "skunk 2"... They may be pretty similar but not identical. As the photo above shows, differences in suppliers and parts. That's just for the head. I haven't dug deep into anything else but I can imagine there may be other small changes.

Pls see the above photos, if the engines were identicle the same photo would be used. the 2003 has upto 13 items shown in the list where as the 2005 only has upto 11. and some parts have different part numbers. Having seen both heads off in the past, when a pre-facelift valve was put against a facelift one it differed. Wether they updated the part number to reflect the later part now used im not sure. but the engines have differences. I've only come across these bits fully myself since embarking on the K24 build.

I will be splitting it apart towards the start of march, unfortunately both heads I have are pre-facelift ones.

Well. It needs a full clean and wash inside and out. Brake discs are rusted. Currently has a stock back box with stainless b pipe and a spare rusty spoon style back in the boot. Windscreen is cracked. Inside is filthy as is the exterior. Tyres are down to the metal! Rocker has been off the car so cams are rusty. Not any real bother as this will get sorted. I have access to lots of type r civics being broken. Just deciding on color scheme for alloys and rocker/engine bay dress up bits. Once the engines out. Il give it a good de greasing and wash. Then if any needs touching up, il get it done. Considering putting in fog lights and doing the wheels cherry red. Just waiting for the PayPal invoice for the following parts purchased. Drag cartel dc4 cams. Super tech valve seals Super dual valve springs 92 lbs and titanium retainers. Vibrant 3" inlet n outlet stealth street power backbox (flat black colour) Originally I wanted a loud skunk 2 but after speaking with a few lads they all said a 3" system is too loud and with a skunk 2 box with be deafening.
