  2. Cheers Kryzs !! That's really nice of you mate, it would be appreciated Will have a check on eBay now for an ARB I think. There are a few being broken so will drop them a msg. Do the mg drop links got without modification?? Will drop him a PM mate thanks for that. It seems it mate. That was certainly my conclusion. Will give it a quick clean and going over tomorrow then add some better photos Will have a scroll through mate thanks
  3. Looks like a nice one Simpo!! Oh and I owe you a big thanks for finding the MC2
  4. It has arrived!! managed to my loose the wife. Just about haha. Was stuck getting out of Wimbledon for a while. And then had to come back and cook something to eat! Was a fair old drive though. Am really happy with it!!
  5. And the eagle has landed!!! Really really impressed with it. If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting it to be quite so good. We'll start with the most important things. It drives fantastic. Really does. I'd go as far to say it drives better than my lancer, and that has 25k less!! Pulls like a train, drives perfectly. Brakes are lovely and precise, although look a little worn. Folder full of receipts, history and MOTs .. Original hand book and owners pack. Cosmetically, yeah it's good. Difficult to tell when it was semi dark. But stopped on a petrol forecourt and had a better look. Certainly nothing that's surprising for the age. Couple of odd dings and scratches. But overall, good condition but in need of a damn good polish. Interior seems to be almost mint... Almost Everything works, the bulb has gone in the clock, the fans oy work on settings 4 & 5 .. Besides that it's lovely. Oh and the original red key will be in the post tomorrow Only niggles are ..... Interior, ash tray n cigarette lighter are missing. Heater & clock bulb as above. Exterior, couple of dings that I'll have a song master work their manic on. Engine/drivetrain, all perfect ATM. Remote central locking is intermittent. Could be batteries though. Handling, kinda does represent a boat or maybe not a boat, but some form of barge. Definitely need lowering and stiffening. Which will be done in due course. And that's it !!! So overall I am REALLY impressed and very very happy Very quick pic in the dark with her sat on the drive, not sure if it'll work.
  6. That would probably explain it my running!! No damage done ?? Looks like luck is in with most people today Well done mate.
  7. Woohoo!!!! What was the issue!? Ah you don't need a radio!!
  8. Always forget just how nice a grand sits in your pocket
  9. So just going to the bank to draw out the wonga
  10. Haha couple of hours rest bite. Sounds like a plan. Maybe I'll bolt myself in the garage when I here the lancer coming back ...
  11. Yeah hate to say it but I think I might need to pop into halfrauds on the way there or back. Ha cleaning the car on Xmas day, that would've gone down like a sack of sh*t my side too lol.
  12. Not sure how many kudos I'll have left for that dragging her London and back!! Ha no it won't. She wouldn't have a clue how to get back off.
  13. Cheers Nick, will have a browse back through. I do have half a bar of dodo clay left which, weather permitting, I will get on with this week. Although the way the weather is today I might be waiting a while as the last time I washed, clayed, polished and waxed I think novels out there for 6 hours!! May have a look at the Meg stuff, I have heard good things about them in the past. Thing is right now, I need to pick up a bottle today/tomorrow and I don't think there is anywhere near me that sells dodo products over the counter, so may well try that next time. Opie oils sell their products so when I order oil n filter, I'll get some of their shampoo too.
  14. Esp when I'll be driving the faster car home so she can't catch up and beat me haha
  15. Ha yeah I've been checking the route. Will be a pain. But shouldn't be too bad. Time will tell. Will be leaving at 3 ish. Although the wife isn't too keen on London driving. Haven't quite told her how far into London it is
  16. I've found a lot of 'renewals' are actually an increase or such a slight decrease it's not worth it! Shopping around is definitely the best port of call. I've changed every year for the last 3 years now.
  17. Ok all. So with the expected arrival of the MC2 tomorrow night and the fact I had to clean up the lancer to photo and list on fleebay for selling, I have ran out of shampoo. I have always used autoglym shampoo, but have just used the last of it on the lancer. And this being my first black car, I wanted to get peoples opinion on what shampoo to use next. The same again? I'm not in the market for ridiculously priced stuff, unless it really is a cut above the rest. Also, I'm currently using a micro fibre MIT and the two bucket method to clean, which seems to be pretty good and then stages of different micro fibre cloths to dry down. Anything else anyone uses?? Similarly I use autoglym high resin polish too and currently have a pot of dodo juice wax.
  18. Bloody hell that's a lot. Think my old man, 51 (complete different genre of car) has a new A3 tdi and pays something silly like £190!!!
  19. Yeah I can imagine it being a real shitter doing that. Touch wood (and a massive touch wood) I haven't had that yet. Suppose that's a nice position to be in mate. And I guess your not reliant on getting one so you can hold out. But if there is ever one near me, let me know and if be happy for a road trip
  20. Turning up and them being dogs?? Definitely an Achilles heel when they're rarer and rarer cars to find.
  21. I will thanks Carl. We are currently half way through our existing policy so would rather finish this one off first, get up to 9 NCD and then look to change next year to a specialist.
