Thanks again for the positive comments I want to do a couple of more little bits and that will be it with the wrapping:) Exhaust is next on my hitlist, can't afford a catback with Christmas looming and 4 kids with expensive tastes so looking at a 2nd hand backbox and roping my mate into making it fit Got to convince the missus on this one though as she hates loud exhausts, I've explained I don't want loud, just a nice burble and tone

Did the door sashes the other day, I like the way they turned out, by far the easiest things ive wrapped so far:) And a quick random of her on the drive Keep meaning to sort out that side repeater as it keeps filling with water and clean those wheels properly

When my 1.4 did that it was the track rod ends, or tie rod ends whatever you want to call them Jack it up and see if they're is any movement in them:) Hope this helps Failing that it would be the upper balljoint possibly as mine has a slight knock on one

Yep looking good, the H done in red would finish off the front end nicely Nobody gave my car a 2nd glance until I flyeyed the headlights, dechromed and wrapped the H red, it gets loads of admiring glances and double takes now I even got pulled as the police thought it was tint film lol

I'd try and have a look under the housing under the matrix at the back to make sure it's connected and moves etc first If you move the carpet and iirc a small panel you can see better Hope this helps:)

I've been thinking about trying to carbon wrap the black dash binnacle face Has anyone done this, just wanting to see what it looks like, I vaguely remember seeing it on a build thread I think but can't remember who's car it was:/

Little update I've spoken to 2 mechanics, 1 a Honda tech who both say without any doubt it's the water pump I've checked the matrix and from what I can see they're are no visible leaks Seen as the cambelt or water pump have been on for 116k miles I will get them done, guy over the road says he can do it for me I'm still not convinced though :/

I've had eBay specials on for about 3 months and so far so good, for the sake of a fiver for 2 if they last even 6 months of be happy. Although ive had one that snapped on the very first swipe of the screen, top quality they were lol

I changed the matrix on a escort cabby a few years ago so I know it's a nightmare, it took me all day:( Theyres no wet carpets though, just a strong stink when the interior heating is on, it's that hot celery smell that I complained about a while back. As when I asked a mechanic what the smell was he said straight away it was hot coolant, on a plus though he highly doubted it was the head gasket Typical, I was just starting to trust it again

Since I had it running with the front up in the air it seems to have calmed down touch wood, still up to the neck in the rad and no more gauge creeping up so far Sitting in mcdonalds drive through I was concentrating on the gauge so much I messed up my order:)

Well the saga continues:( In traffic yesterday and I glance at the temp gauge and it just past half, pulled over and checked expansion bottle which is about a centimetre over max, rad fan is running Sat with it idling for a few minutes and the temp gauge kept on climbing and when it went above 3/4 I heard the rad fan go into overdrive but still the gauge doesn't come down, only when I put the interior heaters on full did it start to come down This morning I checked the rad amd I couldn't see any coolant, so I popped of the expansion tank and it took everything in there to fill the rad back up I'm clearly loosing it from somewhere and for some reason it's filling the expansion tank and not taking it back into the rad when it's needed I can smell coolant in the car and when at idle with no blowers on I can hear the heater matrix gurgling with a rushing water sound I'm starting to think classic honda hg faliure symptoms although this morning I had it running for neirly an hour with the rad cap off and front jacked up and the coolant stayed in the neck of the rad with no bubbles or drama

How much did the level of coolant drop? Could have possibly been an airlock which has bled itself of, hence the level dropping?

Gave the old girl a mini service today, new oil and filters ready for winter, I've already changed the coolant when I did the stat Got Mobil super 10w 40 semi synthetic 5 litres for £22.39 which wasint to bad Only thing I wasint 100% on was using a unipart oil filter, which was huge, because I already had it and couldn't wait for a gen one:) I did ponder on magnatec but had loads of bother with top end tappage on previous cars
