  3. Felt much better tonight the steering arm bush had quite a bit of movement with all front end work done she drives true and straight now Still going to get four wheel laser tracking done next week just incase. Don't want her to eat my new tyres
  4. MOT Passed dropped her off this morning my mechanic done other two fail repairs for me then took it up to get mot and he only charged me £70.00 to supply and fit parts
  5. Yeah Baby A few notes been spent there mate, When you fitting it (prob silly question civc5 members go out in rain hail and snow to mod their cars)
  6. Thanks mate it will have to go lower a bit because it handles like a drunken camel and mg suspention should handle a lot better but next mission is to get replacement bumper finished and fitted with front lip
  7. Have yourself a merry little Christmas, Let your heart be light From now on, our troubles will be out of sight Have yourself a merry little Christmas, Make the Yule-tide gay, From now on, our troubles will be miles away. Here we are as in olden days, Happy golden days of yore. Faithful friends who are dear to us Gather near to us once more. Through the years We all will be together, If the Fates allow Hang a shining star upon the highest bough. And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

  11. Im affraid i can not excuse the rat look but i am loving the volvo front end swap was a good plan
  12. Its a standard box mate but i will take pics of the hole the mot station punched in the original one it has surface rust but is pretty solid metal and must have taken some force to fold it in like that
  13. Backbox now fitted today started raining half way but hey ho a bit of water was not going to stop me roll on thursday i say
  14. I may well do exactly that next year Indeed not bad at all and who knows when full stainless may arrive Thanks mate glad you like them and yes no major work result seeing as she has done 15,000 hard delivery miles since i bought her in march
  15. M.O.T went quite well she failed but only on three things 1- Nearside steering arm has relative movement at its fixings 2- Nearside track rod end ball joint has excessive play 3- Rear exhaust has major leak of exhaust gases She is going back to my mechanic thursday he is going to do steering arm and track rod and i picked up new backbox today £25.00 inc gasket (so will prob fit tomorrow) after he fixed he going to take it back to mot where it will pass as is a partial re-mot LOL they was going to fail it on drivers door handle said door not opening from outside so my mechanic looked at them confused said yes it does and just opened it And i never knew backbox was leaking it was quiet as a mouse untill they prodded about (not complaining i know thats what they meant to do) now it sounds like a tank Advisory Items 1- Parking brake lever has little reserve travel ( i knew that thought it would fail only reason i not adjusted yet is the screws to remove center console wont budge) 2- Oil leak ( that is wrong though i park in the same spaces at home and at work and have never left a drop of oil i think they mistaken because both cv boots had gone before i got fixed last week and i can imagine loads of mess under there) And thats it so im well chuffed, oh yeah had to pop my foglights out before mot one lense is knackered and could not get replacement at breakers found three m's at one breaker, three m's at another the third had none so i gave up was peeing down and all six i had found never had them just blanks
  16. Felt the dogs dangleys tonight totally different driving experience Thanks mate as i said to my mrs if i had a pocket full of cash and was buying new from a shop i would of choose that exact design Bargain indeed and cracking is not the word for it i was so shocked when my mrs rang me i laughed because when i left for work (i live in a cul-de-sac) a big white van pulled in and blocked me so i flashed him to get out my way which he did, turns out it was the guy delivering my wheels Lowering will happen just not quite yet cheers mate glad you like them got to change wheel nuts as mine are scruffy maybe i might get black ones to go with the theme
  17. Enough with the filth already This is a family friendly thread So i rushed out to breakers could not get replacement fog light (mine has broken cover) just going to whip them off in the morning because i popped in to tell my guy wheels were done and i need to book mot and he replied okay we will do it tomorrow drop it off.. Next port of call was some emergency locking wheel nuts from halfords but going to order special wheel nuts i see on line in january and some more expensive locking nuts as well so you will need two special keys to take each wheel off Back to the handling issue i spoke of previously I can report that getting both the cv's done cured the random severe understeer.. And the change of wheels has stopped it wandering all over the road so all sorted now New rims feel wicked through the wheel more road noise than im used to but i got 6x9's so that cures that problem
