I don't mind spending money on old cars tbh when it's general wear and tear items. I'm usually contented telling myself that I'm spending less on it per month than if I had a new car with higher tax and also to pay finance on (although some months I'm spending pretty close to my old monthly finance figures lol). It's discovering previous cheap/nasty/bodge fixes that do my nut in and this car had those in spades. No more buying cars from spotty yoofs. Saying that, I did proper laugh at a bodge on my old mk3 Golf. One of the rear passenger windows didn't go down and when I took the trim off to see if the regulator was broken, I discovered there was no regulator at all and the window was wedged up by some skirting board and some trim off a kitchen unit.2 points

I haven't really been on here much over the past month or two and really shocked to sign in and read the news about Nick. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family. I always found him to be a real gentleman on here and enjoyed reading his posts. I also loved seeing the work he was doing to his car. He'll be missed I hope all the guys here give him an amazing send-off this Thursday2 points

A Co-founder of civic5, my wife and civic5 moderator crazzzydawn sadly passed away 21/1/2013. Dawn was my life, and loved getting involved with civic5. She made so many friends on here, who shared her love of the Civic M's. Sadly, she lost her brave fight with cancer, but her memory lives on in all our hearts. Dawn in her favourite place...... a Civic M! It was Dawn who got me into Hondas with the first one she had, a wee MB2 in white (S322 DKS) wonder where it is now? Dawns big love was her Civic Aerodeck 1.6ES, and she spent a lot of time making it unique. It was the car she'd always wanted, and was so happy when she got it! It's now kept in my garage, and only ventures out on sunny days, down to see Dawn, the odd camping trip and to civic5 meets and car shows. Her baby is now my baby, and will be turned into a show car, with everything looking as new on her. Know it's what she would have wanted and it's such a lovely car to drive. Dawn was always into cars, and loved all the motor sports too. A right wee petrol head. Her sense of humor was amazing too, as all those who met her will testify! A genuine, loving, caring and honest hard working soul, she will always be missed. R.I.P. Dawn x x x x1 point

Sadly Nick passed away from unforseen health issues. Nick was a popular member of civic5 from the very day he joined back in 2010, always helpful to everyone, and always up for a laugh. He was also a valued member of the Civic5 Team, and helped run our Facebook group. A true Civic M enthusiast, Nicks own Civic was a stunning MB6 VTiS, which he loved. He spent time and money making the car mint, and had it to a few meets too. He was a regular in the forum, even logging on when he was in hospital while waiting to go into surgery for a kidney transplant! A true gent, he will be massively missed in our club. Nick leaves a wife and 2 daughters. Both Nick and his civic will be forever remembered everyone here at civic5.com R.I.P. mate1 point

According to Cyberspeeds, the front of ours is the same as EG and DC2 and the rears are the same as the EF, EG, EK and DC2. I hear good things about D2 apart from the price. Was hoping I could spend a little less on a lesser known brand but with the same quality. After I get it the suspension and camber arms I'm going to go get a fast road setup with maybe 1 or 1.5 degrees of camber.1 point

Part of the draw back of us running such old cars .. You have to stay positive though and remember that once its sorted, it'll run forever!!1 point

Yeah of course! Just hope it lasts long enough not to need to dip into the holiday spending money! I don't mind taking the hit on the credit card as I've been building that up for a rainy day anyway! Was hoping to replace the drive shafts at the same time too while it's all off.1 point

Well that could be an incentive for me to get it off for JF2 ..1 point

I was thinking the same! Idea for the bung, spray the bit you'd see matte black maybe? This thread had me looking at EP3's on Autotrader last night! They're coming down in price!1 point

Intermittent how? General driving? Under braking? Cornering? (Left? Right) Few things I would check, jack the car up and see how much play is in the offending wheel when you wobble it holding at 12 and 6/9 and 3 o'clock positions with your hands. Might be worth taking the wheel off and seeing what state the pads are in.1 point

I did see what happened mate, was gutted for you but your new M is a stunner mate.. My MB3 is a showing her age now engine wise but she is still soldiering on and starting every day. But she will be staying with me when her heart finally gives up the ghost i shall be going ahead with my original transplant idea..1 point

Walked home in a record time of 90mins covering 5.5 miles up some big hills too! Then had my dinner and straight out on the car! Sadly I've only gotten one corner done but that was changing the brake line as well! Looks 4ucking fantastic though!1 point

Projector headlights and USDM mods fitted today! Massive thanks to @Chandler for the USDM kit, @dinochips for the projectors and @philgor for the advice on the HID kit! First off a quick action shot! Now for the photos of the job! Don't worry, the bumper is sat on a bit of carpet! Sidelight. Dipped headlight. All fitted, battery went flat though whilst testing, gave me a bloody heart attack when I saw the lights flicker and go out though! All reassembled! Some whoring shots! Look what else has come today!! Right lengths too by the looks of it!1 point
