  2. Aye, wish I had put some lacquer on it... Needs quite a bit of polishing to get it back like that... At least I've got a dremmel type tool now instead of just doing it by hand

  6. Brakes are now complete and look something like this The car also failed it mot on emissions which was a bit unexpected. I had refitted the cat and the original ecu but it seems that was not enough so I had my local exhaust specialist fit a new cat and thought I'd try giving it a terraclean. For anyone that doesn't know, a terraclean is like a fuel treatment that is connected directly to your fuel system and pumped in via a machine. I spotted it on wheeler dealers and its benefits are well documented. Plus I found that my local terraclean agent lived in the next street to me so it was quite convenient. After the process was completed it went straight to the test centre and flew threw the emissions test with virtually no co emissions and very little hydrocarbons. The brakes are now fully bedded in and are excellent. Very progressive with a much firmer feel to them. It also seems to run much smoother after the terraclean and I can barely hear it when idling. Would definitely recommend it to anyone having emissions problems or even just to refresh a tired engine. I can also now report that the brakes have now been on the car for more than a fortnight without it being cleaned and there is not a single spec of brake dust to be seen on my white wheels. It would seem that the mtec discs and hawk pads is probably the best all round set up I've ever fitted to a car.

  9. Xmas and a wedding lol Dropped wheels and tyres off with a guy with a body shop beside my work. I asked if he had a tyre machine and it turns out he does along with the balancing machine and a bead blaster which will probably be needed to stretch the tyres on a wee bit. He's not charging me for fitting them and they're pretty busy so he said he'd do them when he gets a chance!

  11. lol I'm with you on that Jay, bat to the head works wonders, because getting the police involved would be pointless. 1, they aint bothered about the police and laugh in the face of our soft as putty laws and punishments, 2 the police wouldnt really be that interested. Only way to deal with this scum is a language they understand, so bat sounds good! On saying that, been lucky enough to get a parking space right outside Gayles house the last few times I've been down, and she's been fine, no idiots attacking her. In fact, when I pulled up at Gayles this evening, two little lads about maybe 10 years old were watching me park, and one said really nice car mister! Doubt it was them as they seemed to be standing there in awe of DD! Mind you kept an eye on them from the window but they were fine. Wish everyone thought that about her.

  13. I'll look into the VTi body kit should be easy for an Ek, I'm going to find an MA in the scrap yard and take the front end and hopefully it should bolt straight on. The car also passed its MOT today after a little welding work so I'm happy it was only that. Will be starting work on this car tomorrow so keep a close eye for up dates.

  15. Well, there is enough space if you move heater panel approx 5-6cm lower than it is in original. First I did was to unscrew the heater panel and srew it to thesame holes but lower. This way ideal 2 DIN hole was created. I purchased a spare console just to cut the down part of the radio frame - so from 2 consoles (2 orginal frames) i created one which looks close to OEM frame.
