Filler primer done! One more rub down and hopefully ready for colour!!2 points

@ammarbm - cheers, really that's what I always wanted to do from the start, then I saw your MB2 progressing and I thought DAMN! I'm deffo going with this theme!! Lol... A layer of filler primer today then hopefully first colour on tomorrow! @Krzys - thanks, that's a hole for a lip lug, there's one each side and a securing clip goes on the reverse when the lip is on @KiNK43 - the bare plastic bits are hard to deal with as they have no stick to them... After cleaning off the first rubbed down coat, some primer pulled off from the black bits! But I just need to be more careful! ... I've got 2000 grit now anyway and a selection grit pack too for between layers so hopefully comes up ok!2 points

Well left work the night and was getting a bit heavy footed on the motorway! Didn't notice the police behind me and they where there for about 2 miles! Any ways they pulled me ask why I was driving so fast and I just said I was being a d**k and know I shouldn't have been driving as quick. He done the usual checks told me to drive slower then let me go no points, fine, f all. They could've been right d**ks but didn't . Thankfully1 point

thought this might help people when choosing wheels and tyre size options!! the first link is very helpful for the dimensions and shows quite clearly about the clearance offset etc and has helped me calculate the offset and dish of my new wheels http://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=195-40-16X9ET20&wheel2=215-40-16X9ET15&fcl=50mm&wcl=30mm&scl=50mm this one has helped me gauge a understanding about the stretched tyres and offset etc, slightly more simple than the first link, but still nice and helpful!! http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=215&aspect=40&diameter=16&wheelwidth=9&offset=20&width2=215&aspect2=40&diameter2=16&wheelwidth2=9&offset2=15#content1 point

I'm led to believe that filler primer has a bit more substance to it, so it fills tiny pin hole imperfections better than a normal primer so I usually use a mixture of primers! More progress!1 point

Broke it and used a lot of parts Inc engine in the eg. Went on to bigger and better things and was pretty sweet to be fair. Then sold that. Please don't remind me. Oh well starting again.1 point

I have no idea mate, I would have thought they'd either have thread or maybe fit over the originals?1 point

I had tein super street coilovers on it. Which then went on my eg. Erm was quite low to be fair 60-70mm at a guess but nothing rubbed just exhaust and tow hooks used to catch occasionally. Miss that car a lot. Loved it1 point

@snakey135 dunno whats best man. Persoral preference I suppose. I wouldn't have dreamed of trying to paint stuff a year ago.. you lot here inspired me to have a go. I use 2000 grit myself. And an old piece at that If I can that worn. Really lightly wipe over the primer and paint between coats. Wipe down with brake cleaner. Even the lacquer give a light sand then polish it up after. Be smooth as a baby's Bum bum1 point

Looking good mate, I put a wide punch sideways on my shock and hammered it a couple times, that seemed to work well!1 point

Yeah well the bumpers always needed doing and would have been too fiddly I think having to mask off the black strips so just went for coding... Hoping to wrap the bonnet in black carbon at some point to so that should break up the silver a bit!1 point

I got 205/45 on my 16" inovit's ... Toyo t1r's which were around £100 for two... I put the new tyres on the rear though so when I come to put new titis on the front it be like I've got a full new set!1 point

i think £50 a corner is a pretty damn good price considering the last lot of tyres i bought cost me £4001 point

Good result dave. Crazy these faults occur. Those top mount bearings are awful though. Cheap plastic tat And make a horrific sound if left. They don't make them like they used to!1 point

I think I paid £120 or something fitted for a pair maz to my mb6 for the yokohama s-drives. They have great reviews on the net too. I've never driven my car harsh but I thought I'd see if I could spin up the tyres and they just gripped like heck. Also once had to swerve to avoid a car that randomly braked from 40 mph and the yokos were great, I managed to go around the car and cut back in and avoid the car from the opposite direction and a bollard..1 point

Thank god for payday! Everything bought. Getting it done a week on Saturday Is there a 'how to' on clutch replacement on here?1 point

Just had new synchros fitted to the typeR's gearbox mate and the difference is massive! That lot your buying will make her bullet proof, well worth the outlay/work1 point

And yeah get them fookin coilies on mate!!! I know what your saying mate. Bout cash flow. I'm having to chill my beans with my car can't throw money at it like my last one. Doing sensible stuff. Looks like your making some good purchases. I can't see the budget coilovers being worse than mg shocks that have seen 70k miles.. but no one whinges about sticking them on a civic. cars coming on well.1 point

Mate get on ebay. I've got toyo proxes t1r tyres coming out my ears... last month I picked up 5 that had seen one track day for 80 quid. Great tyres. my wheels were black with chrome lip. 195 45 16s. Just tucked in nice In the rear arch. Bigger tyre may scrub if your dropping1 point

They are stronger made and meant to increase shift speedsl. Well that's what I read anyway! Honda are about £500 for parts as the synchros don't come separate. So I had only this choice really. Wasn't wanting an untested 2nd hand box. This way I know it's done and will last.1 point

@snakey135 Thanks, yeah I have raised it up a little but not yet got my ideal set up. I did all 4 sides the same height and front is more lower. I guess it's due to engine weight and my boot being empty, no spare wheel or sub there. I was thinking of raising the front but I actually like how it is, no tyre scrub and barely scraping so might instead lower the rear a little bit if putting back spare wheel and sub doesn't help.1 point

Picking the MB6 up on wednesday and throwing her right in at the deep end, got a course for work in Bristol on Thursday Looking forward to having a bit of power to play with Matt1 point
