  1. Cheers, man. There's a community center with a wood shop near my work so i think i'll ask them to make some mdf spacers for me. Got the measurements done so all i need to do is ask how much they want for the job. Might take a while though, first i gotta paint the walls of my new apartment so i can start moving.
  2. Allright so i was planning on getting an new exhaust, but plans changed... my old cd player resigned so first things first, gotta get the punk rocking. So with a 200€ budget i went to the car audio store, and ended up spending 390€... that guy sure could sell! But i'm pretty confident i got a nice setup. So this is what's coming in: Pioneer DEH-3200UB head unit JBL680C speakers, tweeters and crossovers for the front Pioneer TS-G1312i speakers for the back 15kg's of Silent Coat (definately won't use all! ) I've removed the old system and started fitting the new speakers into the old housings... a little bit of filing, drilling and sawing and i've managed to get the front speakers and tweeters in place, but the rear housings need some more modification since the the new speakers are way more deeper. At the moment progress has stalled since i'm in the middle of changing apartments... gotta put things into priority, but i just hate to drive without music. Not that i wouldn't enjoy the sound of v-tec!

  4. Very nice ride. Great to see someone having guts to fit 17's under a deck. Awesome stance too, man, and the Dare's are spot on. Good photos. What profile tires do you have? The mani's starting to look quite allright, but i think it's still going to be a while before you can see the reflection of your sore fingers off the DC . I'd really like a 4-2-1 myself too, but haven't found my perfect match yet . But anyway, you've got a very smooth looking project here, good luck!

  6. Top Gear is awesome, man. I just love the humour. You must be talking about the Finland episode with Mika Häkkinen... it's quite amusing . Most of it is true, but no, it doesn't take 4 or even 3 years to get a license... and we don't drink hot reindeer blood .

  8. Getting a driver license takes about 4 months, but the thing is, Finland is a big country but with only 5 million people. Basically it's one huge forest with small cities every here and there connected by a couple of highways, and tons on smaller, curvier roads. And they're kept in really good condition. That translates to not a lot of traffic, or cops, getting in the way of your "driver training" . And once you really get in to the countryside, it's just dirt roads... like the ones you see in WRC rally. When i got my licence at 18 i did my share of going sideways in my mom's Corolla wagon near my grandparents place in the country... and didn't even wreck it! Although i had a couple of close calls...

  10. Here's a view of the interior as it currently is: Mods include handmade floormats, Tenzo-R shift knob, Mugen lookalike pedals, H-badge on steering wheel and Moman indglo dials. If you plan of installing these dials, a word of advice: e-mail the company and ask for the latest installation guide. I ordered these bad boys from AKR-performance and the instructions i got with them were in bad english, and incomplete. Once i got the new guide, it was a piece of cake. The dials are not for a 1.8 civic, but close enough... because they look really cool in the dark, and we've got a long dark winter here. Sorry but i couldn't get a proper picture. I especially like the speedometer, as it shows the realistic possible top speed ! And shows the speed even closer to the truth than the original dial, this summer checked a couple of times with a GPS and results were dial 120km/h, GPS showing 119km/h. No more than 1km/h off at any speed. The tachometer is a different story, it shows about 8% too little rpm, and as you can see the redline starts 7000 instead of 8000. But it doesn't matter to me since all i really need to is when the limiter kicks in , which is at 7700rpm on this dial. Next coming up is a new sound system. New seats are also on the list, but they're not in a hurry.

  12. Thanks for the comments, guys. Almost as soon as i got the new windshield, i received some free saturdaynight tuning from a random mr. nice guy in the form of a broken sunroof and a ripped off rear wiper. Needless to say, i was a bit upset . But luckily my insurance covered it, and got it fixed last thursday, just in time for a big tuner meet over here in the capital area last friday. Not that many hondas there, but a couple of ok civics, a nice crx and an awesome integra type-r next to a mint del sol. Mine was the only M there, but what can i do, gotta represent! 1"£££$££"!! If you're interested in the Finnish modding scene, here's a link to some pics: http://jkphoto.kuvat.fi/kuvat/events/Eurocruising%2027.8.2010/ Later we took some snaps at a burger place parking lot. Silver looks so much better in the dark IMO...

  14. Hi. I finally got some decent pictures taken so i think it's time for an update. I've done some mods and minor repairs since my last post in october, so here we go. First of all i got my underside rustproofed. Now i should be all set against the salt for a couple of years. As the snows melted away, i installed a set of H&R coils and dropped the car as low as it would go without the tires rubbing against the fenders... and in my case i didn't really get it any lower than it already was, maybe 5mm at the most! But anyway, now i have the adjustment option if i want it, and i think the ride is better than with the Koni's i had before. Next i tried to remove the rear tow hook, which proved impossible, so i took it to the shop. Much better looks and 30lbs lighter! Osram nightbreaker bulbs, new wiper blades, clear repeaters and a new windshield to replace the old cracked one did lots to make the overall look much smoother. (new blades, old windshield) I swapped my old exhaust tip for a chromed one, only until i'm getting my Magnaflow back box, which is probably this autumn. Also did my first mod under the hood, which was a high flow intake by TSS Tuning. I don't know about any horsepower gain, but i just love the sound... mild purr at first, and a roar once it hits Vtec! The best 100 euros i've ever spent! Last weekend i painted the rear calipers red to match the front ones i did a year ago. Also swapped the driver door's window sill to a new one. Was quite expensive (80 euros) but the old one was hella ugly and driving me mad so well worth the effort. That's about it for the moment, hope you enjoy the pics. I'm pretty satisfied with the progress i've made since i got it a good year ago. Interior pics coming and also complete new exhaust, from the manifold to the backbox. It needs a wash, i know!
  15. Brand new rims for the winter, 15" League 273's (pic's clipped a bit): Feel free to disagree, but i'm super satisfied with these shiny little bad boys! I've never been a fan of OEM Honda rims and my deck didn't even have them, it came with lots-of-spokes 17" Mille Milglias which i ditched immedeatly as too big and the winter tires didn't even have alloys. But modifying will have to stop now for a bit, i'm going to get the underside thoroughly checked for rust (was almost spotless when i bought it last march) and get the necessary spots welded, and then rustproof the whole underside to give me a couple of years of carefree winters. They put a lot of salt on the roads here in the winter and you can imagine what it does for cars... luckily my MC2 has only seen 6 winters here, she's (he?) a german immigrant like all the other 1.8 Deck's in Finland. Also fuel filter and coolant fluid renewal are next on the to-do list. I've also got a AKR short shifter waiting for installation... . I'll post some pics of the interior next.
  16. The Koni sport kit lowers the car 35mm. Comes also with adjustable shock absorbers, pretty handy except for when adjusting the rear, you have to dismantle the interior a bit. My car came with this kit when i bought it, it's seen action for 6 years now and i'll probably get a new kit with adjustable ride height this winter. I want to get that nose to hug the tarmac!
  17. 1998 Honda Civic Aerodeck B18C4 - Koni Sportkit -35mm and adjustable stiffness - Sportline lipkit - 16†Zero ZE04-rims with 205/45 Falken-tyres - for the winter 15†League 273’s with 195/55 Continentals - Tinted windows - Custom headlights - Custom grille - Red brake calipers up front - De-badged - Removed the headlight washers - Indiglo dials from Moman - Mugen pedals - Tenzo-R shift knob - Simoni Racing floor mats Greetings from the north, this is my second aerodeck. My first car was a MB8 that i bought in July 2008 but in march 2009 i couldn't resist anymore, took a loan and got myself the car that i had wanted in the first place, the MC2. It wasn't in the best possible condition when i got it and still needs lots of work, but slowly and surely it's starting to turn into what i hope one day will be the lowest, fastest and baddest Aerodeck in Finland. I just got my winter rims from Alloywheels.com and got them installed, i'll post pictures of the new look soon. I have lots planned for my deck... i'll keep you updated on the progress.
