  1. Getting ready for some trackdays this summer with a set of Toyo Proxes R888 195/50's. Can't wait to test how well they'll grip .
  2. Nice upgrades. Love the center caps, hope they don't fall off! Thought about de-badging the grill? Might complement the no-nonsense black detailing.
  3. I've got a camber kit in the front and will adjust as needed, but for the rear i think the natural camber from dropping it will be enough.
  4. They probably are ball shaped, because I've already asked Motonet, they couldn't find any that i'm looking for. And about those ebay nuts, i think the 20 and 16 on the title mean the amount of nuts included, not mm. But no worries no more! Yesterday i got a text from a friend of a friend who had found a set of 23mm nuts in his collections, and he didn't even want any money for them.
  5. What kind of wheel/tyre combos you use for trackdays? I've decided to retire my 15" 6.5 wide League 273's from winter use and wrap some semi-slicks on them, just not sure about what size would be best. Maybe 195/50? Or should i go for a different size wheel to start with?
  6. Not much going on over here. Got the tires fitted on the wheels, took over a hour to do. The rears proved especially difficult, they had to be blown into place. Pretty much like this: So this is how they look, i'm pretty satisfied. Was worried they'd be a bit overstrecthed but they turned out just perfect: Front: Rear: Did a testfit, but since the car is sitting pretty high at the moment and the arches are yet to be rolled, i took them off to wait until everything is perfect. One setback i'm trying to deal with is finding the right size wheel nuts. They can't be more than 23mm long because of the centre caps, and i can't find the right ones anywhere! Not even ebay has proven helpful . Grayston http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x16-Open-Wheel-Nuts-60-Taper-Seat-M12x1-5mm-19mm-Head-Ford-Honda-Toyota-/370790417050?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5654d4c29a comes close but they're 25mm. But i guess i could buy them and get the extra 2mm machined off so it's not the end of the world...
  7. That's what i call stanced! Very nice job, man.
  8. The Falkens arrived. Also got my old wheels sold a few days ago for almost the same price that my new rubbers cost. I haven't done any arch rolling yet so that's next on the list... after a test fit with the tires on, ofcourse. Also passed my mot. Apparently he wanted something to complain about so he told me to remove the red h-badge from my steering wheel (as seen on pg1), because "it's a safety hazard if your airbag goes off" . Oh well, it wasn't really a favourite of many to start with and a little change is always refreshing. Now just gotta start saving for one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-INTEGRA-TYPE-R-DC5-CIVIC-EP3-JDM-MOMO-STEERING-WHEEL-FITS-EK9-S2000-ACCORD-/181101298551?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a2a7a8377
  9. Okay, quoting really old (first) post. But one of the old owners of my deck had asked that from Veho, which was the official importer in 98. There is three VTi decks imported to Finland as new by Veho. I have a copy of that letter at home so it's not any memory based information. Just some knowledge which is cool to know I'm also having German immigrant, so it's not equipped with heated seats and mirrors. Mine is Imported 2006. I know your deck, she used to live on my street back in 2008 and was actually the car that made me want to get one. Later when she was put for sale, i remember reading the same 3 car statement on the ad. However a friend of mine who was interested about it, asked one of his Veho friends for confirmation and got info that none were sold by Veho. I regularly just out of curiosity check decks for sale here in Finland, and during the past 5 years so far haven't stumbled upon a VTI deck claimed to be a Finn-car. So how about we go the Mythbusters way and call this "Plausible", until someone sees with his/her own eyes a true Finland-bred MC2 registration?
  10. Well, it depends what stretch means in your book... i'm planning on 195/40 rubbers and the rims are 7.5 front, 8.5. rear
  11. Here's a really helpful page for things like this: http://www.willtheyfit.com
  12. Okay i'll skip the Nankangs and go for the Falkens. 80£ isn't that bad, taken into consideration that my last set lasted for 5 summers. So about 15£ per year for extra grip... i guess that's a pretty good deal! I did some dryfitting last weekend: Front Back I think it's going to turn out just the way i want it. The fitting rings from my old Zero's were a perfect match so that's one more thing crossed off the list. Now just have to get the arches rolled and wheels fitted. And before that the deck's got to pass her MOT test on friday, keeping my fingers crossed.
  13. Thanks for the comments. If i'd go 205/40 there would be so much more to choose from, but because i want to get a good stretch they wouldn't look good on the 7.5 wide fronts. And in 195/40 R17 the options are pretty limited.... At the moment i'm leaning towards Falken ZE912's, same as i have at the moment on my 16's and they have been pretty good in my experience. They're about £320 shipped home, but the Nankangs would hurt me £80 less... hard decision .
  14. At the moment i've got stock exhaust without the mid silencer, and the sounds are quite nice, especially with a intake kit. Quiet when cruising but baaaaaaaa! when vtecin' it. It's a bit loud on the freeway, though. But i'll definately be putting in a proper high flow mid silencer in when installing the new exhaust + magnaflow back box, it'll be murder otherwise! But i guess it all goes down to how race you wanna be Also true that the resale value will go down if you chop the buddy club up. Maybe try it first without the mid silencer? And post a video here
  15. As far as i know that kind of combo will work just fine, if not perfectly. I decided on a diameterwise similar setup after quite a lot of research. Planning to purchase the missing parts and install it this summer, also hoping to hit one day the 200bhp mark.
  16. Where did you get them? I've used Camskill before so ordering abroad is fine for me if the price is right. Toyo T1R's would definately be better than Nankangs. So you actually had some grip with them? My friends are telling me now they'll be useless on my race ricer . And did you have NS-2's or AS-1's? I heard NS-2 is lots better.
  17. I think this M burns rubber a bit faster than the most of us.
  18. Thanks, guys! I just took a look at tires, any suggestions? I'm planning on going for a cheap set of 195/40's, the best deal i could find so far is Nankang AS-1 for 290€ / 245£. What do you think? For grip and thrills i'll invest on some 15" semislicks later, this'll just be a cruising setup.
  19. Volk Rays Evo 3 17 x 7.5 / 17 x 8.5 ET37 3 piece forged wheel They turned out to be in even better condition than i expected. Is wheelgasm a word?
  20. I went to a waterpark on wednesday and was incited to jump into the water from the 5 meter tower. I can't even remember the last time i was so scared. But on the other hand, a delivery guy just rang my doorbell. Can't remember the last time i was so excited! And i haven't even opened them yet.
  21. Damn that's crazy fast! Whooooooa! Hey Kenny, maybe i'll drive to Belgium and you fix up my car a bit?
