  4. cheers guys, have to say the drive home I was quite nervous driving it again but didn't take long to break the nerves, just glad its all fixed now.
  5. getting there, will be sick once painted!
  6. picked it up at 4:30pm today with a correctly coloured bonnet that was already silver as they got one that was the right colour, nice new windscreen, the dent in the roof popped out with no cracks to the paint but it has left 2 little dents either side of the aerial and he said he's organising a panel beater with smaller specialist tools to get those out for me in the next few weeks and its all cleaned out on the inside, they have done a fairly good job. and our silver aerodeck is booked in for a MOT next week and he said he will do it free of charge as well. He definitely feels bad about the whole thing and confused how it happened as he said he did the MOT on it and shut the bonnet fully like dropped it down and no other mechanic is owning up to touching it after so its really weird. But I happy with their repairs and it will be as good as new after those small ones are knocked back out, and the new bonnet doesn't have hardy any stone chips but my old one had heaps and some rust coming through. Will get some photos up soon as its pouring of rain right now and I want to give it a good clean!
  7. nah I wouldn't let something as silly as this end my mb2! hopefully she will be ready tomorrow!

  11. 4 cars! flippin heck, our neighbours hated us last week when we sold our aerodeck with no exhaust system after the mani and the guy picking it to put it on a trailer gave it a fair bit of revs lol that's us down to 4 cars now.
  12. im not sure they would have anything to give me, but since I only work part time and go to work with my dad and its school holidays so I have a break from training im fine without a car for a while.
  13. thank you! yeah ive put a lot of work and money in to it, I was just shocked when it happened didn't know what to think then after I was really annoyed. I hope they fix it right too and from now on i'll be checking my bonnet every time it goes to a garage, once I get the car back I think for a bit I will still be scared that it might flick open again.
  14. flippin heck! it was scary enough at 50 with no cars around me, cant imagine what it would of been like on a dual carriage way!
  15. yeah i know if it had happened any later i would of been on that corner and it could of been a whole different story!
  16. Well where do I start, this is what happened. Went to pick up my car from the garage just as normal paid and took it away everything felt fine and as soon as I got out of the village I was stuck behind a slow moving Volvo at about 40mph (which Im glad I was now) and just as that Volvo turned off I started speeding up got to about 50mph and then BANG! bonnet flew up and battered the windscreen so hard I nearly jumped out of my skin, had to absolutely slam the brakes on as I couldn't see s**t! and there was glass everywhere it was brutal! managed to stop just before a corner I was coming to. So windscreen smashed, bonnet crumpled, bent roof also dented and my wipers got crushed. luckily a police car was passing and stopped traffic so I could drive to a layby. Turns out the bonnet wasn't shut correctly by a silly mechanic, don't even think it was on the safety catch! and it had just finished a mot! I was pretty shook up and phoned the garage and told them what happened, they came and picked the car up straight away and took it back to the garage. They phoned in the morning saying if they put it through their insurance it would be written off so they are taking full responsibility and fixing everything for me for free and the owner of the garage was very apologetic and was glad no one was hurt. So yeah such bad luck on top of my oil leak and failing mot but they said it will be fixed by Monday or Tuesday. she looks in such a sorry state
