  6. wow thats an epic post! sounds like quite a lot of effort and since i use my car daily i would more than likely round/snap a bolt or get half way and find i dont have the tools or break something i think i might just buy the gaiter and give it to my mechanic as he is usually pretty cheap if i had another car i could use i would probably give it a go.
  7. ah is that how they rust! learn something new everyday, i'll have a look and see what its like! cheers i was going to do that, but im not sure it will work or not!
  8. while i was under my car today i noticed that the outer cv boot gaiter was torn and some grease had escaped, is this all i need? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CIVIC-O ... 1e6ad8a228 im guessing its quite a big job to take the shaft off and fit a new gaiter? just wondering if its advisable to give it a go myself and how much a garage would charge to do it? thanks
  9. grease and lots of effort and sore hands from pushing down on the screwdriver did the trick now i got another conundrum see my project thread

  12. today i also gave the civic a proper good clean, fitted my rial alloys for summer since the snow is gone now and fitted a new lambda sesnor but the EML is still on so lots done today but still lots to do before japfest!
  13. if anyone saw in the technical area of the forum i was having a struggle with the 2 screw under the handbrake to get the arm rest area out and today i went under and greased up the threads and lots of WD40 and using a ratchet screwdriver i finally got them out!! :D but now i have a different problem any one who has put a vti arm rest in to a lower could you please help me, obviously the vti arm rest has the electric switches for all windows but i only have the loom for electric front windows and pins in the switch wont fit so what can i do? just change the switch in to the vti arm rest and mod it to fit? any help would be appreciated! thanks

  18. x2, clay bar will not remove scuffs or scratches, it picks up ingrained dirt like tree sap. If when you've cleaned your car you run your fingers over it and the paint still feels gritty it needs claying. Top job nick, car is looking Ah right.. My mate told me it removes surface scuffs like paint from walls/cars. Mmm.. I am still considering it as I touch my car alot when my dad cought the side of our fence with the rear arch and got green paint on the arch, claying it did get pretty much all of it off.
