Ok, another wee update. As you all know, the MB6 rear ended by a hit and run driver, so been a shaky time wondering what the outcome would be with insurers etc. I decided, no matter what the insurers say, she aint getting written off! I've even had the parts that might be needed for repair priced up at Honda, so if all else fails, I just wont go through with the claim, and get her repaired myself.

So with this in mind, I decided to bash on and get her some new bits! With the mot looming next month, I thought I'd renew all the drop links fron and back, and also replace all the Brake pads too. All parts from Honda of course!

New Rear pads in place

Tada! finished!

Just got to do the drop links now! Had a quick go at freeing the old ones off, but the nuts are just turning with the bolt :( Gonna be a mare!

I've done a "how to change rear brake pads" from the above ;)

Should have given the calipers a lick of paint..

nothing more satisfying then genuine oem honda bits.. i know people say they are expensive or over priced but oem parts are always top quality compared to pattern parts.

Deff better with oem Jake! The drop links for front and rear are........and you might want to sit down!......£213! My parts guy at the local Honda deaqlership is top banana though, as he gave me a good discount on them so they cost £190. That was for the two front and the two back, plus new nuts aswell. I know it sounds expensive, but i had the same prob when relpacing them on my old mk6 escort........was buying pattern parts and changing them every 6 to 8 months!! Bought genuine ford, and never changed them again! Plus I like having all the genuine honda parts on her too. 8-)

@Yasar : yep, deff agree mate, more expensive but far better quality, especially more so with Honda. I'm gonna give them a paint before coming down to Donnington hopefully, the fronts are still pretty silver, not bad for the originals eh! The rears have lost the colour, but are still smooth and corrosion free so should paint up really nicely 8-)

That makes sense, as it will take the load off it 8-) any tip for ripping it though, as the bolt is turning along with the nut, so it aint coming off!

hhmmm try an allen kyt and spanner

look at the end of the bolt (face in you) coming off the link it maight a allen key head on it

or a small vices grips on behind the bar attached to the link and use a ratchet

or use a bar to wedge the bar at the back to stop it spining and a ratchet on the front to loosen two people is better with this one

if not new hax saw blades or a electric cutter of some sort
