Thats what it looks like mate. If your standard immobiliser was working as it should before (i.e blinking then staying off) now nothing, The blink is the check code saying all present and correct no blink, no start...As mentioned above to bypass the oem immobiliser involves tampering with the brain so they must have added a second system themselfes prob to add the blue light.. Note check the service manual (available in downloads section) I just been looking at it it tells you where all the components are and the fuses are the ones located under the bonnet, not in the fuse box under steering column.. Starts at Section 23-G-3 Section 23-G-7 has full wiring diagram2 points

Yeah, if any of these extra wires were attached to the old switch you might need to attach them to the new switch so it looks like it did before.2 points

Last night on my way home from work I went and forked out for a set of Bosch plugs and the appropriate tool to remove/fit the plugs! I dragged my dad outside at 19:30 last night to do it, the NGK's that came out were worn and old but not terrible, they also smelt of fuel, so at that point we were thinking that fuel was getting in, but not being sparked! Popped the new plugs in and a couple of goes on the key, coughing and spluttering she fired! Left her running for a while to get some temperature, she hasn't ran since Saturday! Got brave and took for her a short gentle drive, well as gentle as you get when the area has so many hills! To start with she felt better for the plugs, but as she got properly warmed up she was missing more and more under less and less strain, had to leave her in 4th to do 30mph on the flat it was that bad! But got her back home and left her running while I told my dad about the drive and you could hear her popping, a bit like you'd hear on a carb'd car! So after listening for a few minutes we believe we're barking up the right tree and plan to replace the HT leads, rotor arm, dizzy cap and ignition control module! Apparently the Bosch plugs use less power, so if the ICM is failing and not making the right power and changing the plugs helps then we think this is what has been plauging her! Managed to get the fuel pipe off the rail thanks to Jake's advice, took an age to undo though because of the limited space with the strut bar in place! Was a bit red from the injector cleaner still in the tank but otherwise okay from what I could tell! Hopefully once the bits arrive we will have her sorted! Feel a lot better for having managed to do something towards it!2 points

Yeah I think what the previous owner has done it to by-pass the immobiliser and may be there is an after market one installed somewhere. We tried this yesterday to take the battery terminal off and leave it for a while and then turn ignition on and plug battery back in to see if it restarts the immobiliser and then tried same thing again this morning but still nothing..so around lunch time I left the car at mechanic and came back. 4 o'clock got his phone call to come and collect the car. When I went there he said he tried the battery method again and it WORKED third time Yay back to normal for now. The new switch is working fine. Starts first time and the Green light comes on like normal. So pleased its back to normal.1 point

Temporary, is how it looks. Good news on the exhaust, any clues on what's planned for the bumper or are you keeping it a secret?1 point

Theres always some on ebay, i won a full vti-S kit for £67 just the other week, good condition too1 point

Still less than half what Honda would want! Plus a three year warranty too!1 point

I've found a place that will do a full dizzy replacement with all the relevant parts included and ready to go for £150. http://www.ignitioncarparts.co.uk/ My brother wants to unbolt the exhaust at the front of the CAT just to be sure it's not a blockage from the CAT or centre pipe, I'll entertain it but I reckon I'm probably right anyway but it can't hurt, provided I can get the car to him on Saturday morning anyway1 point

Is it not anything to do with ignition switch needs to be paired with the key. Standard immobiliser is in ecu so cannot bypass without modding ecu. So must be a secondary aftermarket immobiliser on top of that. But you should have your green light on then off if standard immobiliser is working properly1 point

Hmm. Probably a sensor crapped up. I doubt ring on hub is bad. You'd have to take a look tho see if any damage or missing teeth. If you got a light on your dash then I think you can read the fault code yourself which will direct you to which part is showing a fault. Maybe one corner or another or some part of the system. There may be a how to on this forum. Or Google how to read civic abs codes.1 point
