  4. No it's all helping I'm def still thinking R32 GTR but now also contemplating a few others like an Evo 6, S15 and a minty AE86. I do have another couple of cars on my potentials list, but non-Jap and I've finally learnt now to keep chat Jap in this place

  9. Yeah I'm having a hoke online for something now. The ones on eBay look quite short. I'd need to re-measure the one that I took off the car, but from what I can gather, the longer the better. I found a poll on civiclife just there though where the majority of owners actually prefer a raspy exhaust.

(the small one) pull up beside me at the lights, he went so naturally i needed to oblige, first second and third did nothing but spin on those crappy tyres in the wet, the sound of boucing off the limiter is insane !!

  19. A Hakosuka would be a dream car, but I'd imagine a decent one would be waaaay over budget, but feel to find me one. I'd never heard of a Bluebird SSS Coupe but having just Googled it, wow! Yeah something retro would be nice!

  21. Turbo'd s2k .... Could look at a 300BHP + build with that budget ...

  22. Supras do seem a bit on the lardy side. What about an s2k, way under budget so you'd have money left to whack on a turbo/supercharger.

  24. They seem to be floating around the £14k level now, although one has just appeared on Pistonheads last night for £10,850. I think they're lovely cars.

  28. Was that 132mph on a GPS or the speedo? Also Jake mentioned the tacho might be off too, I think part of an emissions test involves something that can measure your RPM, could be worth having one on to see what it says vs the dial?

  29. Don't think so D2's look like this.

  38. So turns out my local garage has a new head mechanic who's got a built b16 eg! Asked him about this topic and he got back to me with a list of non-OEM parts (Nipparts, Gates, Airtex) that he guarantees are OEM quality. 250€ (205£) for cambelt + tensioner, water pump and 2 aux belts (don't need a aircon belt). I think i'm going with this one.

  41. Someone recently asked how easy it was to split the clear plastic off the clocks... Not very, you can't pry it off/ warm it up, I suggest using a blade.

  42. Been over to Fast Road Conversions in Ashford today and had a nice new shiny exhaust fitted . It's a 2.25" cat back pipe with 3" rolled in tail for that oem look, nice burble on idle and not intrusively loud at speed
