Cheers Mr.B..Carbon H is definitely staying..In the latest theme the next change will be alloys whenever I will find a set in that bargain price I am after ..plus there will be other small updates but the theme will stay like this now2 points
-
Thanks guys for your encouraging comments and thanks to everyone who voted for me..Honestly I didn't enter my car this month myself cause I thought I would hardly get a single vote with DD being entered..I had never imagined this response..So pleased But I am glad that the most deserving car actually won..I have seen her in person and she is absolutely stunning and that interior is just mouth watering..I have got a cheap version of that with my Black and Blue seat covers lol2 points

Yes carbon h for the win.... And the latest theme is by far the best i would leave it as is now, just update that theme as you go. Especially when she wins car with a month2 points

Ive seen worse n fixed worse trust me ive grown up around rusty old english classics. i would cut it back to good metal n then get some bilt-hamber etch-weld rust converting primer in there (which can be welded over) n then make some repair pieces out of 0.8mm sheet steel n weld em in heres the link for the bilt-hamber http://www.bilthamber.com/paints-and-coatings2 points

Scott, I'd certainly query the air turbulence idea for the cause of vibrations at particular frequencies/revs; turbulent flows create broadband noise & would reduce the chance of modal vibration; I'd not expect the air itself to be the driving force of the vibrations, more likely transmitting through the metal itself. Check welds, if they're starting to rot, they can make a hell of a racket; rotten, loose heatshield as above is another possibility, but if you've knocked out the inner cat meshes via the outer pipes then it's unlikely you've got it all out. If you've access to a welder, could you cut a panel out of the top side of the middle section of the cat, clear all the mesh out & then weld it back together? Or if not a welder, use some metal strip (large tin cans), jubilee clips or a riveter & a load of gun gum. It might sound rather 'scrapheap challenge' but I've put cars & bikes through MOTs with exhausts patched with tin cans. Actually, my bike went through its last MOT with a combination of whiskers & john smiths, although I enjoyed emptying the latter more Power steering fluid - stick to genuine honda. It's not that pricey, you don't need loads & while other fluids may be fine, mixing different fluids can cause issues.2 points

You read that right folks, with a shorter amount of time to car hunt today than I wanted which meant not being able to go north of the boarder to see Garry's MC2 as per the for sale thread on here I had four M's not too far away! Those who knew me last year will know I had an MB6 before and that project thread is here: http://civic5.com/forum/index.php?/topic/4451-meet-becca-sold/ Anyway! Today I had three M's all nearby to each other so I ventured up to have a look and long story short I put a deposit on a VTi-S hatch today, '99 T reg with 93k on the clock! To summarise she's a 14 year old car that's in fairly good condition, nothing falling off nor on fire! Pretty honest in the engine bay, all original and could do with a t-cut for the various marks and little scratches on the bodywork but it's all there and I'm happy enough! Already ordered a heater resister pack as the fan only works on 3 or 4 but I know that's only a little job! Other thing to look at is a knocking at the back when you hit a bump, probably a knackered trailing arm bush or the ARB drop link maybe? Either way I wasn't too worried! The interior is okay, door card fabrics loose on at least two of the doors but not hanging off or torn, probably get them trimmed if they bother me in the future! Drivers seat is in really good condition, a bit of wear on the bolster but again, she's 14 years old and been well used! Comes with MOT till July '14, has had a recent service and 10 stamps in the book, mostly Honda so sounds like she's been looked after! A few pictures pinched from the sale advert! Future plans, tidy her up a bit, I'll be picking up an MGZS 180 ARB tomorrow (Yes before I've even picked the car up ). Fetch the car next Saturday and I can't wait!!1 point

Cheers mate thanks for that will have a look. It is fair to say it has a "unique" look, plus that v tec engine in an estate1 point

bit late but does the D series Aerodeck have the 1" master cylinder like an mb6? personally i would have kept the rear trailing arms, bottom arms, and top arms purely to refurb the bushes for when they need replacing1 point
-
Yeah just fancy the exhaust a wee bit louder. Il refit the decat and remove centre silencer as I has some 2.5" stainless pipe looked aside at work1 point
-
Iv heat wrapped my exhaust and it's fine now no Rattle noises so thanks for the help1 point
-

thanks for the advice. problem is I am not a welder nor do I know anyone who is. I got a shop to look at it today and they want almost 300 Euro to fix it. basically they would cut out all the cancer, sand down what can be saved, weld and primer it. the welder at the shop said cause the rust is already through the inner body its going to be tough to get a perfect weld on the area. so I don't really want to pay that much for a car that I am getting rid of next year when I go back to America. so its primer and paste, and drive till it falls apart. I also still have the wet fire wall issue as well. since this is my only car I don't have time to pull it all apart to hunt down that leak as well. its a pain I tell you.1 point

Nice i might get one it depends on how my side exit idea goes as im having issues with wrong parts turning up at the mo lol1 point

been researching more about this h2b conversion and i really want to run recliners and harness's but looks like i'm going to lose rear seats =/ grr! also a h2b header (manifold) is not essential as you can heat up the stock h22 manifold and bend it down at the bend (works as few people do this) as it sits too high on the flange end. (eg/ek/dc2 reference) although it would be nice to get one but depends on what route i want to take when i get there. also the QSD oil pan looks sexy! but i will decide on that when i see clearance issues when its in as it costs $499 = £308 Toyo sports exhaust sounds lovely (also running a 4-2-1 stainless manifold with a resonated stainless decat) no rasp with a nice deep tone, but yeah it knocks like hell when its cold till i can add this 2" section in. i would recommend it for the tone but the clamp i got with mine was s**te and i bought a D clamp, its not long enough so needs extending and i did find out a lad i know had his centre section welded a few times due to it not being very thick and scraping on bumps (depends on how low your car is) i dont have access to a welder either *Update for VTI-S parts" Wing Mirrors Quickshift *Update for Deck Parts* Fanblade wheels with T1Rs Rocker Cover Rear Trailing arms with new bushes JDM rear LCA's *Update for H2B Parts list (picking up next week)* S9B DriveShafts (i know i have these already on mine but will be better to have these so i can sell my engine as a full conversion )1 point

Handbrake feels like it now has very little tension, don't know what's actually happened as I haven't looked, fed up of constantly removing the wheels and fetching all the tools out etc! The first week of it being back on the road I left the tools in the boot, shouldn't have taken them out!1 point
-
Well my brother came over but he was in a rush, so we bled them and fired up the car, still felt a bit soft so went round them all again but on the final wheel the pipe slipped off, carried on bleeding that wheel until no more bubbles came out but the pedal is still quite soft, brakes do seem to work though! Handbrake though is about as useful as a dose of the clap, need to look at adjusting it. Did take it for a couple of miles to check if it was working. Like I said, soft pedal but it does stop!1 point
