  9. I want to take out the lights and without wishing to be un-PC, blacken them, the problem is that every bolt on the car is so b****red I am surprised she's still holding together as she is, so for me its a quick cheap solution to a problem that never existed and I have just got done toothpasting my headlights and they have come up so clean and shiny its a shame to cover them, of course I ordered my crap this morning before I set to work on getting her cleaner than when I got her, normally I spend the whole day and much wax and creamy liquid detailing the living crap out of a car, If you could see my old Mazda you'd know what I am on about, I do love a bit of anal cleaning. Too much chocolate and I have a spot, I have named him Cedric.

  11. Evening......... Day 3 Ordered new dizzy, should be here next week so I will set about ballsing that up for your delectation, today, well today plans changed slightly, with the on off rain and the wind blowing my skirt up I decided to stay warm by washing and cleaning the original matts that came with the car, the drivers one says 'Civic' on it just in case I forget what car I am driving, well chuffed with the way they came up, purchased some fly eye for the front and rear for £20 from a local seller 50cm x 100cm x2 should be enough I reckon, I already bought and fitted smoked side repeaters/indicators and the orange bulbs are on there way, gave her a good hoover too and finally got down the window seals to get at that nasty greenness that I find so annoying. the fly eye I will fit and picture provided the damned weather stays out of my way! little easy jobs for now, due to getting the new dizzy I am going to stick with the current castor wheels I have, need a rub down and spray though. Funny but on the way back from 'Arrads' I had a little buzz with an A3 and an Alfa, lots of fun that at a screaming 40mph, you can really hear the V-Tec eh! so that was nice, probably shouldn't push her to hard due to current disability but she faired very well. still, plenty more to do........ A share bag of peanut M&Ms today.

  23. That's the best thing about civic5 mate. You get so many ideas from others cars. I have picked up ideas from so many cars here so you don't have to be sorry about that . They are easy to do mate. Do the door pillars also they look good like that. Love the plans you have got. I was doing the same when my company wasn't giving me much work so instead of wasting time I would do something every day. That's why mine changed quickly but now due to the crap weather I can't do much.

  24. Yeah I have a lot of them too! Never say no to a redundant tool, never know when it could come in handy!

  25. Fair enough! Most tools I have to hand are over 20 years old, part of the reason I broke so many trying to get the two screws out where the arm rest is

  29. A strobe light is a strobe light imo the factor to consider is the quality of the product eg. how long it lasts for but saying that i bought mine on ebay for 15quid n its still going 3yrs later

  30. They say w4nking makes you go blind Bit of an update: I had a random thought about the wiper stalk and thought the best thing would be to get one from a Civic, so I found an EF being broken on eBay and it arrived yesterday, connection on the back looks identical to mine! Much like the indicator stalk does with the DC2 vs mine so I'm confident that I will be able to get it working without having to butcher the wiring!

  41. Well the idea is that the air/fuel mix is detonated at just the right time to create the most efficient use of compression and the mix. If its way out then some problems can occur. Suppose the biggest being Detonation. As the fuel could be ignited whn the cylinder is becoming smaller the explosion will cause a huge shock to the piston, rod, bearings etc. To check. Bridge the diagnostics connector to stop the ecu tinkering with it. Then use a timing light. There's a 4 marks on crank pulley. Tdc and 14,16,18 degrees before tdc. 16 is optimal. I wouldn't be concern about it even if it is out. ecu can compensate. And it's not like we're boosted up or anything

  42. Pictures of yesterdays jobs! So here's how the M started the day! Smashed fog lense Had to replace with a whole new fog as I wasn't able to open up the lamp to replace the lense! Next the bumper came off to address the headlight washers, one of them was loose so wanted to find out why......no clip holding it in place! On either side.......ugh! So popped the pipes off, jubilee clips on and it'll do the job for now, much better but not perfect, if it becomes a problem I'll just glue them to the bumper! Oh and while the bumper was off I thought I'd fit something I'd picked up a while back..... Much much better! I did take two grills with me to my mates and we talked about them, one being satin black but badly done, paint is chipping off revealing and unprepared chrome garnish underneath, the other a meshed grill, again badly but with the chrome part painted PB, again, badly prepped! So I'm going to buy myself a can or two of Pirates, paint the satin grill after sanding it all back and prepping it properly! Also have a second rear chrome strip which I'll paint too as it doesn't mean having to take anything off the car until they're both ready to be swapped! Lacquer too after recent threads!
