EF looked sweet mate, MG looks really clean. Love the wheels on it, look so much like the BBS rims so nice choice. Looks a lot better on the coilovers too, nice drop in height. Whats the future plans for it?
-
I'll get right onto this today at some point mate!

Have to agree on the grids mate. I was looking at the slips for mine, but went off them. I'm now looking at GT3's for mine. Grids would go well with the overall theme of yours though.....hard as nails! Could go for a nice dark bronze, black or gunmetal. Or white, if you don't mind cleaning them a lot....................A VERY LOT! lol

That Mk1 is amazing!!!!! K20, full wire tuck, sweet rims and dropped just nicely! -
Hehehe! pmsl @ the amount of folk who thought I was being serious about the RWD!! lol .............................................................then again, hmmm, that would be sweeeeeeeet! Might look into this lol Sooo, went to get a new battery for Pauls fireblade, then went to get the new rear calipers for Ruby! Got a pair of fully reconditioned calipers from Pentland Parts in Edinburgh, so this will cure all the brake issues permenantly! Won't have them on in time for the meet, so will do these next week. Good thing is I get £72 back when I take my old knackered calipers back to Pentland! Result! Think that will be everything done mechanically on her, just needing general valeting/detailing now. Not sure if I'm gonna have time though to get the buffer onto her, so much to do! Oh, anyone got any VTIS chrono centre caps going for sale??

Tidy deck mate, and liking the mods you've done so far. Regarding the number plate recess, the one from MB's DOESN'T fit. The MC one is slightly larger, and also has the button/handle in it for opening the tailgate. The MB's dont have that feature. Really sweet deck for the price you paid!

Wholly crap! That sound is amazing! Deffo what F1 needs to sound like! Sign me up, where do I buy one of those!!!

lol ty for the replies! Yup, was one mega session on Ruby, but Pauls labour rates are cheap! lol Plenty tea and biccies and all is sweet! We gotta go get a new battery for Pauls fireblade now as it's boogered! Job for today! Had Ruby ou today to get some miles on her and bed the brakes in. Brakes are bedded in nicely now, but o/s/r is still a bit iffy. Going to order up brand new rear calipers to end all the sticky rear brakes issues. Further plans for Ruby this year are going to include some body work. Whilst doing the rear brakes, noticed a tiny bubble has appeared on the rear arch First bit of rust ever on her. Can't complain I guess as she's not exactly a spring chicken any more. So plan is she will be going into a bodyshop to get both (might aswell do both sides) rear arches completely cut off, and replaced with brand new ones, then obviously painted. Bonnet needs sprayed (stone chips) so might even go for a full respray, even though the rest of the paintwork is near perfect (but I prefer perfection!). Then the big plan takes action......................................S2K running gear and rwd conversion! Aye right! pmsl!

Well, been busy getting Ruby ready for our meet this Sunday. As mentioned earlier, I'd had her out for a blast one day and got serious probs with the front brakes. Basically they got almost jammed on! Found out the caliper had siezed on both sides, more so on the passenger side though. Plus the front discs, which had already been machined, warped due to the heat. Soooo, Bought brand new front discs and pads from Western Honda and had got a second hand pair of calipers from a member on here. Plane was to completely strip the newly bought calipers down and fit new seals, pistons, sliders etc and prep and paint them so they'd be as new. Time wasnt on my side! So, Paul came down at 3pm on Monday and we got busy!. We hit a few probs along the way, and had to head out to buy some tools (blow torch and an impact driver set as one of the screws on the discs was solid!). Once we got the calipers off, I refurbed them as they were actually in pretty good shape, so wire brush on the drill and they came up like new. We cleaned up the slide pins, as they were in a state, but were good as new when we put it all back together. Obviously being the genuine Honda pads, they came with new retaining clips and caliper bolts etc, so got them plus the new discs all fitted up! Then we drained the old fluid, which was black! The age of it, and the fact the brakes overheated when they were stuck on had boiled the fluid. So drained/flushed it all out and went for some nice new DOT 5.1 racing fluid. Job almost done, the handbrake stopped working for some reason! So car back up on the stands, we had to strip the rear caliper down on the drivers side, as it had siezed! spent bloody ages on it, trying to get everything working, and also had to work on the pass side one with the blow torch too! We finally finished at.........................................bloody 5am Tuesday morning! But was well worth it, the brakes are back to how they should be on the MB6, and are pulling her up nicely with hardly any pedal effort at all. I'm going to do a complete refurb on those other front calipers I got though, and make them like brand new then fit them. Also going to buy brand new rear calipers, as the ones on her arent in the best of condition, but will be able to refurb them at some point and keep em as spares. I'll try and get some pics of the new brakes up when I get a chance. Least shes ready for Sunday................just a wash and machine polish for both her and the deck and they'll both be match fit!

Yeah, side view, especially the rear, looks almost identical to the Jazz. Quite tidy that! -

Wow! I want that in my life so bad! Always been a massive fan of these, was in one when it was brand new! Yeah, I'm that old, but hey, I was only a nipper! I'd have it done exactly like that, those arches, those rims, that engine! Its perfection that is! -
Looking good mate! Nice bit of detailing in the engine bay!

Damn cant decide! Deffo want a polished lip on them, the more I look at the slips, im not convinced they are what Im looking for. What about GT3's? Blames had them on his mb6 I think, so they should fit? Think them with either gold or colour coded spokes would look good?
-
Had a quote from Skidz in Falkirk, Rota Slips in 16' with yokohama S drives for £790 all in. Only thing is I'm not sure if I still like the slips, did years ago but are they too dated now?
-
Just watched the Mk1 xr2 episode............................such good memories! And went looking for one straight after it finished! Luckily didnt find one, as I already have enough cars!!!
-
Just noticed they do them in gold with the polished lip too! Bonus!!!! What a great site, easy to find what you want!
-
Thanks for that Nick! Think I like the Japan racing ones the best, although both are very similar. But the JR's have the polished lip so they're winning for me! I'd probs get the centres sprayed either white, gun metal, gold or colour coded to the car. I'd imagine that the supplier will have the spigots in stock if needed. Getting all excited now!
-
Likey both of those!! mmmmmmmmmm.....................which to go for?????? Or any others that would fit. I take it both those rims would go straight onto ruby. She is slightly lowered on MiesterR's though, but not by a lot.

Anyone know what the absolute minimum ET I can run without any arch/camber mods? Found some wheels in 15', 16' and 17' that have the following sizes.... 16 x 7 4 x 114.3 e+40 to +42 15 x 7 4 x 114.3 e+35 to +38 16 x 7 4 x 114.3 e40 Any of the above sizes any good?? All from Rota

Yeah, its a hard style to find. Problem with the xxr's is you have to run serious camber to get them on there. The perfect wheel otherwise. Love the look of them, just don't like tyre stretching/mega camber. Must be something out there for the mb6!

Had that game too, was amazing! I think the car you started outr on was a proton gti or something? Really detailed game at the time, loved it! The new engines in F1 are a huge disappointment for me. Watched the race and did actually fall asleep before the end! Seriously, I did! Eve when the incar cameras are on, there isnt the same sensation as you got with the old engines high pitched screaming. That actually gave you a real feel for how fast they were going. These now ones are so quiet, don't rev worth a fook, and sound so low toned that it reminds me of when they were following the saftey car with the old engines just cruising! TBH, the new ones sound like a bloody diesel compared to the old ones. And when the track cameras are following a car round, even when the car directly passes the camera, you can hardly hear it! Like watching F1 with the mute button on! Deffo has taken away from the excitement, and as good as it was to see the smaller teams up there battling with the big guns, it was very, very boring to watch! Got a feeling this could be the death nail for F1. i was looking forward to it so much to, but just a huge disappointment
