    Break or sell

If she's a good one, I'd sell her mate. Always someone out there looking for a decent mb. On saying that, you'll get the usual lot of potential buyer who are only buying it to break it. Kinda pee's me that they break so many MBs just for their engines, and what do they put them in? Bloody EJ's, EG's and EK's. Seems there's still the deluded people out their that slate the mbs and see the other civics through rose tinted spookticles! They aint any better than the MB's but still the poor old mbs loose out and end up being broken. Maybe we should start a revolt.................start buying EK4's and EK9's and break them to put their running gear in some minted MBs! lol
  2. Are you going to JAE? If so, then yeah that sounds like a plan. Is there a lot from here going to it?
  3. whens jae2? its quite a big flag mate (4 meters), with a "drive on" base so might be a bit big/heavy for posting?
  4. yes indeed! I feel we need to get the stands looking proper, so been meaning to get this ordered for a while. Hoping they can deliver it in time! Just waiting on them calling me. Wasn't cheap but hey ho, it will get used a lot!
  5. yup! Have gave myself a deadline so working on it now! Oh, and have got the flag banner oredered for the stand, just awaiting conformation that it wil be here in time
  6. Lots of new toys arriving for DD! No photos as it's going to be a surprize! Well, quite a few surprizes!
  7. Adam drop me a pm regarding this with some details bud. Once you're fully set up, we might be able to get you on board as an official civic5 trader mate.
  8. yeah thats the ones. Great tyres, and always been a big fan of goodyears. And agree, totally stupid to put budget tyres on any hot hatch car, guaranteed to end in disaster!
  9. Yeah, the chassis is mega stiff in this. Well, more bad news! She's booked in to the dealership tomorrow morning again! She now has a knocking noise coming from the front over uneven roads, sounds like either the drop links or the wishbones are on the way out. And had a major barney on the phone about the wheels! Part of the deal was they were getting fully refurbed for me. Well, they got a guy in to do them, and instead of redoing them to oem finish (diamond cut/polished spokes and gunmetal grey inserts) he painted the wheels! So effing annoyed! Although they still look kinda smart, they've lost the look they had to begin with. So told dealership I'm not accepting them like that! And just spent £600 on tyres! It came with brand spanking new tyres fitted, but they were some unknown budget brand. Found out in the wet she was totally undriveable, spinning up in third on a straight road with hardly any accelerator at all, and skidding all over the place. So rather than bin the car, I thought I'd rather bin the tyres! Got some new Goodyear eagle F1's on now (I always like my goodyears!) and the difference is amazing! So planted now in the corners, much much better. So just hope she's not in the garage too long this time.
  10. She's a beauty Sue. Nick always pampered her, hopefully she'll go to another owner who will lover her just as much.
  11. Damn you beat me to it! I've bought 2 consoles ready for when I do this to the deck. Looks amazing mate, loving this deck! It's come a hella long way since you bought it eh! Think Mike's inspired a lot of members to try this double din mod, the way he did it was just genius! Keep up the good work bud, and looking forward to seeing even more mods on this!
  12. Bugger, found an ATR one that was cheap! Ah well, back to the drawing board!
  13. Ok, forgot which one fits! Does it need to be the integra dc2 typeR steering wheel or do the accord or ek9 steering wheels fit the MB/MC's
  14. will be shortly. Unfortunately, she has a bad earth somewhere which keeps draining the battery so going to have to sort that out first.
  15. Well, time for Ruby's project thread to come to an end. John and Ali have just left, and it was emotional watching both the mb6's go off into the distance. Did a wee video on my phone as a wee keep sake. Know she's in really good hands though, could see it in Johns face how much he adores her, so I'm glad he bought her. And he's deffo signing up to the forum (once Ali shows him how! lol) and will be keeping you all updated on her new life. She is deffo going to be looked after, which is what i wanted. So, to finish her current thread, the last couple of photos of Ruby. Love ya old girl! x THE END (and new beginning)
  16. Ta mate, yeah, he really does seem totally into her, and shared my thoughts on the honda parts being the best! See you're right about folk that arent into cars/petrol heads not getting the hard to let go thing. To us, cars are way more than metal, or just a means of getting from A to B. Theyre a passion, a part of us. Only true car enthusiasts get it, so thats one more reason I'm happy to see her go to john. Know she's going to someone who appreciates her for what she is. Plus it beats going round in a Getz eh! lol
  17. Clarkson, as much as I like him, is a complete muppet when it comes to reviewing cars we can actually afford! lol He totally slated the FN2, remember seeing it and thinking "what a tool!" We did a 353 mile round trip in Roxy last week. Was absolutely brilliant on a long run, with a mix of motorways, A-roads and B-roads. Although the suspension is stiff, she was still totally comfortable all the way. Handling wise, I've thrown her about quite a bit (all in the quest to get to know the car your honour!) and she's pretty much planted through the twisties. I'm not totally used to her yet, still learning her absolute limits, so not got the confidence I have with Ruby. But then I've been driving M's for over 10 years so know how they handle inside out. I'd love to know what tyres they were both running in clarksons video, as the FN2 comes with bridgestones as standard and i feel they are total crap! Bet that EP3 isnt on crappy bridgestones! lol The EP3 rear set up is obviously better though, Honda shouldnt have changed it. But the FN2's still a planted car on the road, so I'd say not that much in it tbh. Just been out in the garage tending to Ruby. She went for her MOT today....................and passed with flying colours yet again. Not even one advisory! She's always done me proud, and makes me think I must be a numpty letting her go! Got her boot loaded up with her original suspension, airbox and a few other bits n bobs. Noticed the interior light bulb had gone, so replaced that. Felt wierd sitting behind the wheel for probably the very last time Tomorrows gonna be a pretty emotional day I think. She's been such a big part of my life, and still makes me smile every time I drive her. But the times right for me now, and I know that this time around, she is deffo going to the right new owner. John's totally smitten with her, and with his background I know she's going to be pampered and looked after, as well as driven the way she enjoys! So will make it a bit easier to say farewell to her. Conditions of sale are in place though! John has to sign up here so we can follow her in her new life, and I want to see her at as many meets/events as he can manage! One final wee touch..........................found a couple of Civic5 keyrings so have put them on her keys
  18. lol no probs. I see you have a new "Sir Esq" title too, welcome to the sSir madness! Wonder who did that? lmao
  19. Perfect tribute for Nick and his Baby.
  20. lol Ruby's new owner is John, a good friend of Ali's (Burbleboy). Johns been into Hondas for ages (had an accord typeR for 7 years before being forced to sell it) and has been looking to get back into hondas for a while.(Cant blame him, he's stuck in a Hyundai Getz at the moment!!!) He came to see Ruby with Ali on Sunday, had a test drive and could tell by his face he's fallen for her! She's deffo going to the right new owner this time. Johns also a mechanic ( for mercedes) so will be looking forward to geting his hands oily! She's in the garage just now going through her MOT, so picking her up around 10am. Then she's offsky tomorrow morning. Will still be tough seeing her go, but this time it's deffo the right decission. And know she'll be in good hands this time.
