Ok, I'm looking to change Rubys alloys for 16' rims with a polished lip. Only problem is finding a set that will fit! I don't want the hassle of rolling arches/running camber etc, just want a set that will go straight on her. They style I wanted was the same as the wheels on Dawns deck, the 16' Cades eros. But they don't do them in 4x114 fitment Struggling to find anywhere that does a similar rim that will fit. Any ideas chaps?

lmao!!!!

Has indeed! Still need to do the brakes on Ruby though, as I unfortunately remembered at the first corner!
-
Thanks Ray! Long time no see mate, nice to see you back in the forum bud. Had both ruby and dawns deck out for their first spin this year (well, rubys second spin, dawns decks been in the garage since the memorial meet back in august last year!) both felt amazing to drive again. Deffo a couple of show queens now lol

LOL that would be a nice wee run down to yours in Lexy mate! She does love a long run, so might actually just do that!

lol Ranerio (tolasodolsa) is my good friend from Italy guys, met him through Forza4. Top guy, and one hell of a good racer! I've not had much chance to use the "nice to beat you, sir" greeting for a long time though as Paul and I just cant keep up with him now! lol Need to get more practice in! I've had a look at the Rage alloys mate, but as they're 19" the ride is hard as hell, way too stiff for day to day duties. Nice wheels though, and the FN looks amazing on them. Got another wee mod fitted today, the TypeR rear lights (centre section on tailgate). Looks much nicer with the black section instead of the blinged up red reflective bit, plus the red "H" badge came with it too, so all looking good. Will get a pic up soon
-
lmao they saw me coming bud! Still, kept its original wee plastic case and mounting stand that it came with so can probs sell it in future for more (to some other mug I see coming!! lmao)

And clutch may also be on way out if its been towing heavy loads a lot. Have a look at our buyers guide mate, that gives you everything you need to know. If you hover over the "Home" button, a drop down menu will appear. Just click on our buyers guide there

Next on cards is new wheels.........got a full set of FN2 TypeR alloys (18") which have been refurbished and never fitted waiting in the wings, or possibly an after market option! Watch this space! Oh, and got the TypeR rear light unit getting delivered on Friday. this is black, as opposed to the current red one thats fitted

It's a genuine Honda one mate, had to get it sent from Japan! £75 for that silly wee car lol, must need my head looking at! Can't get the genuine Honda ones now though.
-
And another wee addition to her...... TypeS quarter panel decals. Again, got these from Gerry on civicinfo. Mega bargain and top quality!

Know what you mean mate! I came close around 2 weeks ago to trading her in for a typeR in white. Just love the look of them! But it was going to cost me at least 3 grand to trade her in for a car that had more miles than her, was older, cost more to insure/tax/run and wasnt as well equipped! So decided against it, and glad i did tbh. Been in a few FN2's and the ride quality is bollocks, couldnt live with it on a daily basis. Far too stiff and uncomfortable for our roads! Lexy has all the TypeR looks, same body kit etc, without the running costs. Still got enough oomph to annoy a lot of other cars too

Been a long time since I updated this, but have done a few wee tasteful mods since her last update! Gone are the red mudflaps, just really went off them. Soooooo, what's she been getting done? 1st up is Nice set of wind deflectors. Not the usual "in window channel" type, but outside the channel fitment. Really impressed with these, no naff clips to bugger about with, and the fit is really spot on! Next up, I wanted to sort a small detail that Honda really should have done when these were new. The rear "TypeS" badge is the same as the typeR one, only the whole "Type" bit is chrome, instead of black with chrome edging. This pee'd me off, as it looks like the badge was never properly finished. Know it's a pretty minor thing, but thought nope, I'm sorting that! So, could have painted it, but decided on a factory finish, so ordered up a New "TypeR" badge from Honda. Got this delivered then carefully cut the "R" off the badge, and replaced it with my "S" . Fitted to the tailgate, I think it looks much better! All in the small details! I also replaced the standard front grill badge with the red TypeR "H". Not trying to pretend it's a TypeR, just like the fact it colour codes the badge to my car! lol Next up was a fairly big mod. Decided too upgrade the OEM head unit to a double din head unit with touch screen display. I went for the Pioneer AVH-3500DAB, a feature packed unit. Always loved Pioneer stuff, and as it was originally a make Honda used for their standard stereos, kinda felt like staying true to the brand. I thought the Head unit came with built in sat nav, but found out to my cost that it doesnt. It has the facility to control the satnav, but the actual sat nav is a separate unit, and another £375! But seeing as i wanted a built in sat nav, i went and bought that too! Converting the dash to double din was done with a kit from Honda bits (bought with a discount through civicinfo.com, a site I've been a member of for a few years) and this kit included special leads to enable the top display where the radio info is usually displayed, along with the climate control, to be still used. It also includes another adapter and harness which means I can still use all the controls on the steering wheel. Great bit of kit! Fitting the head unit is a major task, which meant most of the dash and all the centre console had to be removed from the car. I'll post pics of her in bits during fitment later! Once all fitted though, she now looks like this! Can't fault this head unit! The sound, even through oem speakers, is amazing! It also has DAB radio, parrot blue tooth built in, which sounds crystal clear, Mixtrax feature, which is really cool, and obviously the sat nav. Neat wee touch on the sat nav is I can change the usual wee arrow to a 3D car on the map. And well, with the wee car being bright red, it looks like lexy on the map!!! lol Well chuffed with this head unit set up, recommend it to anyone! Another wee small detail I got from Gerry on civicinfo was the "TypeS" logo made for the centre console. This looks really sweet, and just makes the dash that lil bit more special.

Stunning EU mate, looks mint! Thats the exact same head unit ive just fitted to Lexy (FN1) and its an amazing bit of kit! The blue tooth is actually parrot blue tooth, so really good quality. I initially thought the sat nave side of things was built into it, but its an add on (£379) so I got that too. You'll love the sound from it mate, sounds amazing! Thats gonna look sweet on rotas!

I got done 2 years ago, 88mph in a 70mph limit. And yes, they were hiding up a slip road, but luckily they didnt have the camera! Just went by their onboard video and the speed when they tailed me. I got £60 and 3 points, but like you say, no point in arguing because I knew I was in the wrong by speeding. Sill feel it's unfair the way they go about catching speeders though, hiding up slip roads etc is a bit of entrapment in my book. Regarding the safety awareness course, was watching traffic cops on tv the other night, and they caught a bunch of bikers speeding at over 140mph! I thought they would be banned instantly, but they all got off with it if they agreed to go on the course! I thought anything over a ton was instant ban??? And wonder why they were allowed the course when they were so far over the limit? They were also driving dangerously, as they were in a 60mph limit, and overtaking on double solid lines etc. I think its because there was so many of them (6 I think) that it would have been hard to prove who was doing what so would have meant too much paperwork with a chance of them getting away with it. Sucks how the police up here just instantly do you though, they seem to be more inclined to use their powers of discretion down south. Or maybe thats just for the benefit of the tv cameras eh! They may have done you because you were in the van mate, I think the speed limit for vans is different to cars, so in a 70 limit the van is 60mph max?

Sorry In missed this one! Looking tops mate, engine bay is immense! Needing to get some blue stuff for Dawns decks engine bay too. Good job on the tints, can come and do mine! lol And the stickers, what can I say? ECU reset needed as they deffo give you around 50bhp more! lol Looks sweet mate! -
That is going to look mental!!! Looking forward to seeing the finished result! The video of your club meet was awesome mate, top marks!

Hi Mate. Yes there's been a double din conversion, and it looked amazing! I can't remember exactly the member who did it though, so will maybe have to be a search through the projects to find it. Complete dash conversion I havent seen though. Would imagine the accord would be a bit bigger than the mb, so might be tricky. The ITR dc2 might be an alternative, although it's not really any more modern looking to what we have. Would love to see this being done though, hard work but an amazing idea!

Dave replied to knight's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
damn this is sad, and didn't see this coming! I know you said a long time ago you really wanted a typeR, but thought the plan had been binned. Really hope someone (especially from here!) buys her mate, be so sad to see such a beautiful VTiS broken. But know the situation you're in dictates it's fate, so fully understand. Good news your staying with Honda though mate! Oh snd as for not leaving civic5? Breaking your baby means one thing! In true Alan Sugar style (with wee crookd finger pointing at you) YOU'RE FIRED! LMAO only joking, you staying here is non negotiable! You're team contract states you're part of this crazy family for life!- 3,767 replies

Yeah, but looks like it's saveable. Tried some G3 on it today, and although it's taking a fair bit of effort, it's getting rid of the brake dust. I'll try and find the link to the wind deflectors, a pic of a lexy look-a-like with them on there! Really nice bit of kit I have to say! Edit: heres the link to deflectors, scroll down the page for images. CLICKITY-CLICK

lol @ the above! So, would deffo need wheel upgrade then for bigger brakes. Hmmmm, will see what the options are later! 16 chronos would be lush, but getting hard to find a set nowadays. Well, get her back out the garage today and got all the dirt and crap washed off her, looking minty again! Dried her off the back in the garage. Will keep the cover off till tomorrow though, just to let the air get in about her and dry her totally. Unfortunately, I noticed during washing her that the pass side front wheel was really thick with brake dust, another tell tale that its binding. The bad news is, because the wheel was so hot the other night (couldnt even touch it!) it's baked the brake dust into the paint on the wheel! Will try a bit of T-cutting to see if that will lift it, but if not, gonna have to refurb it again. So plan is to possibly get her up on axle stands tomorrow at some point, and start stripping the brakes down. Depends how cold it is though! lol My new toy for Lexy arrived today too, which I'd forgot about! Got some really smart wind deflectors for her. These ones are different to the usual ones that fit into the window channel though. These go on the outside, so dont have to force something into the channel that isnt supposed to be there. They just stick on with really strong M3 tape. Was a bit wary at first, thinking they wouldnt hold, but by feck, they're solid!!! Looks the nuts! Will need to take a pic soon. Got Lexy all cleaned today too, so she's looking good. And Dawns deck was snoring away under her cosy cover so thought best not to disturb her!
