  1. Well, Had Roxy back into Western as a couple of faults appeared. First one was I noticed that sometimes when turning right, the right hand indicator would flash fast has hell, so thought either bad connection or the bulbs on the way out. Didnt have any chrome bulbs in my garage so though I'd leave it to them to sort out. The the heat shield over the rear silencer dropped down and rattled it's nuts off on the exhaust! Thought the exhaust was hitting the ground when i heard it,was like WTF!!! And one of the wiper blades buggered up, so called them and took her in today. The heat shield is kapoot, so theyve removed it for now and new one is ordered, and new pair of wipers fitted and new bulbs for the front indicator (bulb was blown) and also replaced one of the number plate bulbs as one was out. Came back to pick her up and shes been all washed, tyres dressed and hoovered! So looking top banana again! Great service as always! Also saw Lexy for sale in the same spot on the forecourt that Roxy had been in (top spot, pride of place right at the front!) which felt strange, and Lexy is also looking good! Someones gonna get a great car there! Soooo, came back from garage and some new toys had arrived for her (yeah I know, I wasnt gonna mod her!) New set of wind deflectors Also got some custom fog light protectors through a mate on Civicinfo.com that he designed for sale in the forum. Good quality they are too, being 3mm thick. They come in all colours, but thought I'd go for light smoke for a kinda moody look. They also have a rising sun decal in the corner, which looks well smart!

    NIKH25

"Really going to miss you mate, know you'll be vtec-ing up there in heaven. Love Dave & Gayle
  3. Thanks for posting this mate. I was trying to find out his year of birth but couldnt find it. Again, another member who is sadly missed.
  4. Sadly Nick passed away from unforseen health issues. Nick was a popular member of civic5 from the very day he joined back in 2010, always helpful to everyone, and always up for a laugh. He was also a valued member of the Civic5 Team, and helped run our Facebook group. A true Civic M enthusiast, Nicks own Civic was a stunning MB6 VTiS, which he loved. He spent time and money making the car mint, and had it to a few meets too. He was a regular in the forum, even logging on when he was in hospital while waiting to go into surgery for a kidney transplant! A true gent, he will be massively missed in our club. Nick leaves a wife and 2 daughters. Both Nick and his civic will be forever remembered everyone here at civic5.com R.I.P. mate
  5. A Co-founder of civic5, my wife and civic5 moderator crazzzydawn sadly passed away 21/1/2013. Dawn was my life, and loved getting involved with civic5. She made so many friends on here, who shared her love of the Civic M's. Sadly, she lost her brave fight with cancer, but her memory lives on in all our hearts. Dawn in her favourite place...... a Civic M! It was Dawn who got me into Hondas with the first one she had, a wee MB2 in white (S322 DKS) wonder where it is now? Dawns big love was her Civic Aerodeck 1.6ES, and she spent a lot of time making it unique. It was the car she'd always wanted, and was so happy when she got it! It's now kept in my garage, and only ventures out on sunny days, down to see Dawn, the odd camping trip and to civic5 meets and car shows. Her baby is now my baby, and will be turned into a show car, with everything looking as new on her. Know it's what she would have wanted and it's such a lovely car to drive. Dawn was always into cars, and loved all the motor sports too. A right wee petrol head. Her sense of humor was amazing too, as all those who met her will testify! A genuine, loving, caring and honest hard working soul, she will always be missed. R.I.P. Dawn x x x x
  6. lol way more than just! And it's all thanks to you I can now sleep at night babe! lol Yeah, the side decals and grill badge are not standard on them, which is nuts! But this came with both so must have had the options/accessory box ticked for the decal pack.
  7. Hmmm, It deffo feels a lot lot quicker than Ruby, and after the ton it just pulls like a train, which is fun! lol Plus Ruby has approx 169bhp (standard, but not had her on a dyno for a true figure) and the FN2 has 201bhp so deffo more powerful car.Got the red paint for it mate. The interior is black and red so thought the red would go with that. Going to prep them for paint and mirror polish the "TypeR" logo thats embossed into the calippers so should look sweet. I'm getting into this metal polishing lark!!! It is mate, and feels so solid too. The torque is a massive bonus! On the go, can be pooteling along in 6th and just put the foot down and she pulls away nicely. Even around town can just cruise around in 6th, sometimes not even having to downchange for roundabouts! Tis nice indeed

    Centre caps

Mate it's hard finding the right size of centre cap, as was said above some companies measure them differently to others which mucks things up. Best thing to do is do what i did and contact OZ wheels direct, letting them know which design of wheel you have. I think all the centre caps for one design of wheel will be the same regardless of the centre bore, so hopefully they should be able to help you out. Try here >>>> http://www.ozracing.co.uk/contact/request_form.aspx bud and see if they can help. Dave
  9. lol @Gayle knows shes the number 1 babe! Already got the paint ready and waiting mate! lol Now just need to find the time @KiNK43 In a word..........amazing! The power delivery is quite like the MB6 in that its quite linear and progressive compared to say the B16, wjere all hell breaks loose when VTEC comes in. But it's just how quick it gets the speed up compared to the MB6, it's just so quick! I'm still getting used to the clutch, which bites basically as soon as your foot leaves the floor, whereas theres a bit more play in the mb6 so gearchanges are smoother. But I'll get the hang of it! 0-60 I think is 6.6 secs, and it hits the ton way quicker than ruby, so a lot of fun to be had. It also seems a lot more refined, the engine being really smooth. Suspension wise, a lot of folk have critisized the FN2 for being far to stiff, and I know of one or two that feel like back breakers when in them. But I'm guessing they may have had mods/stiffer suspension fitted, because although she's stiffer than the TypeS, she's still comfortable enough for day to day life. Gayle and I have put a fair few miles on her already, and it's been a really nice car to go a long journey in. Only really rough (and i mean mega bad) roads are when you feel it could have been made slightly softer, but other than that, a great all round drive. the one thing I love is no squeaks, rattles or other annoying noises, feels well put together. Fuel consumption wise, it's hard to tell yet, but it's looking like I'm gonna get 320 miles out of a tank. Not bad as thats a complete mixture of driving (motorways, A-roads, B-roads, city centre etc and also quite a few miles in Vtec). Could probs get more if I just did a bit more sedate driving, but gotta try her out eh! Oh, and insurance wise........only £77 more than the TypeS! Was well surprized! Which means she's still way cheaper to insure than Ruby. So should deffo save money long term by selling Ruby and Lexy and going for one all round car. @powerofdreams haha! Love it! yeah mate, really nice place to be sitting behind the wheel. All mod cons like dual digital climate control, auto lights/wipers, cruise control, mega nice bucket seats and lots of cubby holes/storage (which the MB is deffo lacking in).
  10. Will start making a new sig soon! lol Oh, and forgot to mention, her reg plate matches her perfect too........................Her Royal Roxiness! lmao She's a bit of a princess!
  11. Yeah, might look into it! LMAO I actually said that to Steve at Western about the club discount, think he almost fell off his chair! lmao
  12. And Lexy has now left the building (well, my garage anyways!) Traded in for a Civic TypeR FN2!
  13. Ok, as most of you know, I've been debating which Honda to sell as I can't keep ip with trying to work on all 3 of them. The deck was always going to stay, so she's safe. So I had to decide between Ruby (Civic VTi MB6) and Lexy (Civic TypeS FN1), which one do I sell. The one which stayed was going to have to become my daily driver. But I couldn't decide, because I loved the thrill of driving Ruby (the fun and the power) but couldnt go back to driving her every day. And I loved the creature comforts, the safety, and the solidness of Lexy............But she just didn't have the fun factor having no power! What to do!!!? After a month of sleepless nights (seriously!), Gayle came up with the perfect solution! Sell em both and buy a TypeR! It made perfect sense, because with that I can have the best of both the MB6 and the TypeS all rolled into one! So, with Lexy traded in, it's time to introduce the new TypeR in my life, Roxy! one thing i was stuck on was what do we call her?? Then again, Gayle came up trumps! She's replacing Ruby and Lexy, so a combination of those two names would be perfect! Ruxy sounded a bit daft, so after more thought.....................Roxy was born! Ok, now the car. Shes a 2008 Honda Civic TypeR GT in Alabaster silver, bought from our Civic5 Official Traders Western Honda @ the Fort, Edinburgh. She's already got the optional 19" polished alloys, which really make her stand out. And although I wouldn't normally go out and buy a silver car (had a few before though), she looked stunning and a bit different to the usual red or black TypeR's. Ideally I wanted white, but silvers as close as I could get so yeah, well, chuffed. She also has the TypeR decal pack from Honda, so has the TypeR grill badge and quarter panel decals. Then the modding started!!! Oooops! Um, think I've broke her! First thing I had to do was install my double din touch screen Pioneer head unit I had in the TypeS. To fir this into these civics is a major task, as you need to dismantle pretty much everything, including the full centre console from front to back, and a lot of the dashboard too. And for some reason, i couldnt get the gear lever gator to let go of the gearstick, so had to cut it But this was always going to be changed for the nice new red Suede one I have coming for it. So, after much caffufle, the head unit along with the Sat Nav unit all fitted and looking pukka! Much nicer! So whats next? Well, first of all I need to get Ruby sold! I'm buys prepping her and detailing her ready for sale. Got a new front bumper sitting waiting to go on as her original one has scuffs on it from before I bought her, and thinking about just taking her MeisterR suspension off (the Deck has been eyeing these up!) and selling her for £1300 with standard suspension back on. Oh and meant to add, Roxy is going back into Western Honda for brand new rear brakes as they were an advisory on the MOT, and also to have her alloys fully refurbished. Steve at western agreed to have all this done as part of the deal, so alls good! Should be going in soon Future plans for Roxy are: Wind deflectors Red Suede gear gator Some wee minor imperfections on the bodywork fixed (stone chips etc) Tinted windows Possible induction kit for a bit more noise! Stainless steel Powerflow exhaust when the time comes to replace the standard one. Mudflaps (possibly)
  14. She'll only be getting a few mods, as she's the daily driver. Induction kit is one (let me know price etc Krzys), wind deflectors, tinted windows and fitting my pioneer double din sat nav head unit. Oh, and spraying my wee red typeR dash model silver! lol Other than that, I think thats about it chaps. No big mods happening, as she handles great and is plenty fast enough as standard.
  15. Now included in the plans will be a full respray to make her paintwork flawless! And a few other trick bits done on the interior too, with some possible window tinting at some point.
  16. Not got any pics of the TypeR yet mate, might go down to Western Honda tomorrow and take a few But we do haver her new name picked, and a perfect name it is too! Gayle and I were trying to think what she should be called, and Gayle hit the jackpot again! Clever girl is my Gayle! All will be revealed when we pick her up Wednesday. Be sad to see Lexy go too, but she's been a brilliant car to own, so will miss her too. But then again, being in the FN2 will be like being in Lexy so alls good! Got the free insurance sorted out today and the head unit is out with the standard one back in again. Mammoth job again, but turned out good and was a lot quicker than it took me last time! Also got her all hoovered out, and replaced a few other standard parts back onto her. Was going to remove the TypeR rear lights to sell on but couldn't be bothered, so she's keeping them. Will deffo get some good photos and a proper video of Ruby done soon, one for keeps as said above
  17. Cheers chaps, yes deffo the right choice and one I need to stick to. The deck will always be here, she'll never ever get sold, thats a promise I made to myself, and to Dawn, so I'll always be in a civic m. Cant own a site like this and not be in the appropriate car! lol Just going out to the garage now to take the typeS appart to get the double din head unit out and refit the standard one. Massssssssive job, as most of the dashboard and complete centre console has to be removed! Also got to remove the TypeR rear lights I fitted (they'll go on flebay) and think thats about it. Busy day today!
  18. Exactly mate, I'll be letting them know if they dont know already about civic5, and that its in their best interests to join, even just for parts and info/advice. Hard to believe that I've actually made the decision, and started the ball rolling by getting the TypeR. No going back now! lol
  19. lol not the new typeR, not made of money lmao! The suspension though is already spoken for if she sells without it......................DD has put first dibs on it!
  20. Better let you all in in whats happened! Basically, I've been getting fed up having all these cars!!! My prime objective was to spend all my time (and money) on DD making her into a show car. But after buying Ruby back, it meant I didnt have the time to do it with running 3 cars, and spending time on all three. So I had to get rid of either Ruby or Lexy. This is where my rpoblem began, because I love them both, but for different reasons. Ruby for the speed, the handling, and the memories tied up in her. Lexy for the creature comforts, all the toys, and the safety. With meeting Gayle, my priorities in life have changed, as its not just me to think of anymore, I've got Gayle and my new familt to think of. So Lexy was winning the battle on the safety side. But she didnt have the fun factor that Ruby has! So it was back to even scores again. But the thought of ruby being a daily driver, even during the winter, wasnt going to work. Shes crap in the snow, and would be even worse with the lowered suspension. So again, lexy was staying and ruby was going. So had a look at a lot of other options, like selling lexy and buying something different, like an S2000 or and MX5. But again, both would be hopeless in the winter, and with only 2 seats, would only be any good if it was just me and Gayle going out. Soooo, as of today, that idea was canned! Then Gayle gave me the solution! Have the best of both worlds, the best of ruby and the best of lexy! So today we went into Honda and traded Lexy in for a stunning Civic TypeR in alabaster silver with the optional Rage alloys! Was a huge step to take, but the right one. This way, I still have the fun to drive car that ruby is, and with everything that I love about the TypeS, all the toys etc. And most importantly, one hell of a safe car to be in should the worst happen. So Lexy waves bye bye on Wednesday, and the TypeR takes her place. Ruby will be going hopefully soon after. It will save me money on insurance, road tax and mean I have all the time in the world to concentrate on the deck. She is going to be turned into the most perfect M that I can achieve, and even though shes mint just now, she is going to be a show stopper. Wont have 3 cars to tax, insure, mot and service, just 2. And those two will fit all my needs. So there ya have it guys, the reasons behind the madness! To be honest, I'm actually relieved that Gayle came to the rescue with that idea, as I have genuinely been having trouble sleeping trying to figure out what to do. Knew whatever one I sold Id regret it, for the reasons i loved that paricular one. This way, I can have the best of all worlds. Safe, fast, fun and all mod cons! So as Im at a different place in my life now, I can lock all the happy memories with Ruby and Dawn, and with Ruby and Gayle, in a wee box and keep them there forewver. My lifes on a new chapter now, and time for new memories to be made. So Gayle and me will be having lots of fun with the TypeR, and making new memories to look back on.
  21. lol, sory mate, no can do. Theres no money troubles or anything like that bud, just cant/dont need 3 cars anymore
  22. Possible mate, but can't keep her too long. How soon could you be in a position to buy? All will be revealed guys. This has been a huge decission to make, and I've been in turmoil the past few weeks about it, but the answer for me (to solve my too many car problems) came today.
