  1. That looks sweet mate! Love the metalflake on rear trim! Whats the adhesion like on the actual parts done? Will it stand up to the test of time you think? Could have a million and one uses for this stuff if it sticks to parts good! And glad to see this wee M staying with you, she's a wee cracker. Funny it always reminds me of DAVEMB2's one, even though both are styled differently. Your original reg is close to daves too!!! lol
  2. I'll get the new photo added to the forum main page once this updates been done. Don't have access to the admin panel at the moment until it's been done
  3. Yaaaaas! Result! She looks a beaut mate! You lucky boy!!!! now don't go selling this one!!!!! lol
  4. Yeah have to agree mate, go for it. I wanted an ep2 ages ago, and came close to buying one. But I found the 3 door was just not practicle, and it seemed to lack power for the size of the car. I also noticed they seem to suffer rust quite badly on the front chassis legs, almost every one I looked at had bad corrosion on the n/s chassis rail, even on a 55 plate. Not sure if it's common problem, or just the ones I looked at. The MA/MB/MC Civics, although older, seem to be less rust prone, apart from the rear arches. If it's space you need, you'll love the deck! Plenty room in them, and depending on model, decent spec list too. Plus they can be modded to look amazing, as you've seen on here. Dawns deck is only a D16 non-vtec, and it still has enough power to make you smile. It won't set the tarmac alight, but it's no slouch either! Another bonus is, the Aerodecks are actually slightly better built than the Hatchbacks, as Honda were aiming at the BMW tourer market when they brought out the decks. Get one, you won't be disappointed!
  5. Unfortunately the civic M's are pretty poor on snow, although the D series engine models do perform better in the snow that the B series engine models. I found that out a couple of years ago when we got really bad winter in Scotland, Works car park, my transit connect van.........fine...........works corsa...........fine...........Ruby........got bloody stuck! No matter what, on normal tyres, it was undriveable. The problem with the Civic M's is that they suffer from really bad understeer in standard form in the wet, so show them snow and it's a no go! But, there is light at the end of the tunnel! I changed rubys tyres to proper winter tyres, and the difference was huge. I can't remember the name of the tyres but will have a look in the garage for you. I think I also changed the profile for a higher one, but will check to make sure. Your deck should be fine on winter tyres, so it may be a problem with the manufacturer of the tyre. Another thing, get your front wheel alignement checked. This makes a huge difference, and if it is out, then no matter what tyre you get on it, it wont steer/move properly at all. So get her booked in to get the tracking done asap. I'll get back to you on the size/make I got for Ruby, see if that helps.
  6. I'd go for the Jazz mate, excellent wee cars! Dawn was actually thinking of buying one last year to use as a daily, and keep the miles off her deck. Even had a test drive booked but sadly she never got to do it due to passing away. I've seen a few modded Jazz's in the metal, and believe me they look the nuts. There's a jordan yellow one going around here..........full mugen kit, Tinted windows, slammed, and think it was racing hearts on it or something similar. It looks immense! If you don't mind an import, they did a Fit Sport in Japan that was 1.5 supercharged! Also seen the K20's Jazz, which also ran a supercharger iirc. Built by Gerry at Performance tec, same guy that built Daves K'd MB2. It was featured in Total Honda mag, and was stunning too! But engine conversions aside, if you're looking for the economy and practicality, you won't go far wrong with a Jazz........and they deffo can look hard as nails modded! Do it!!
  7. Came in @ £500 for the two delivered mate
  8. lol Was exactly what I was wanting mate! so big thanks for that! Deffo recommend them!
  9. lol cheers Nick! You'd be better waiting till the heating is installed before bringing your sleeping bag mate! lol. Yeah, had to get them colour coded, be rude not to. Should see what they can do with the covers though! Can actually have your car printed onto them, so it's like there isnt a cover on it, just your car. Cost nega bucks for that though!
  10. Really tidy S3 mate, like that a lot. Always fancied an RS4, something about them I really like. Love the colour yours is in, very mint looking Audi mate!
  11. A wee update! Got the floor all painted, and everything car related moved from the shed to the garage! Also took some pictures of how Ruby and Dawns deck are now all tucked up in their new beds! The car covers are awsome! Totally tailor made for both cars! They even come with their own little bags to store them in when not being used... And decided to get some sounds for the garage too, nice DAB radio with ipod dock and remote control! Got to give a plug to Specialized car covers.............amazing quality (double lined) and fit both cars perfectly. They even asked if Dawns deck had the mid spoiler fitted and if Ruby had the boot spoiler so that they could actually have panels sewn it to fit round them. Total amazing!! Check them out at :http://www.specialisedcovers.com/
  12. Woo-hoo! This is sounding good! Keep us updated mate!!
  13. As much as I love M's, Have to agree the seller is dreaming trying to sell it at that price. Even if it has been done to a very big spec, there's only so much these cars are worth. I'd say on a good day he might get 2 grand - 2 and a half grand tops.
  14. Only just spotted this project! That's a stunning mb6 mate, really clean! Like where you're going with it too, good resto and some choice mods. Shadz mb6 was a total stunner mate, iirc he had to use adjustable camber arms and rolled arches to get them wheels on. I totally love that wheel, would get them for mine but not really into camber or rolling the arches........although might happen one day! Keep up ghe good work mate, loving this project thread!
  15. Really hope you get this mate, as said above, that seriously needs to be in the club! Fingers crossed for ya mate!
  16. Bloody hell! Genuine vtis deck with low miles!!!! I'm tempted as hell to buy that! Unfortunately, a 3 car family is bad enough to run! lol Why did that not come up when i was looking for a deck before I got Lexy You need to find a way to buy that mate, thats mint!!!
  17. Yeah, sounding more and more like the motor mate. Are all the connections on the motor good? Also, thinking about it, if you have any members near you, might be worth asking them nicely if you could borrow their window switch to see if it makes any difference. Or try swapping for one of your other window switches, just to check its not the switch itself.
  18. Strange that it's slow going down the way, but ok when closing. Usually the other way round. Best bet is to take off the door card mate and then work the window, see if there's anything obstructing the window channel etc. Might just be needing the channels adjusted slightly, but more than likely the motor on it's way out.
  19. Yeah mate, the room behind the head unit is really tight. If there's extra cables for amps and stuff, then the best thing to do is try and remove as much of the plastic panel right where the rear of the head unit sits, and then feed the cables down the left hand side (there's a small gap there) and into the area at the side of the glovebox. I'm sure there's a how to somewhere in the electrical bit for it if you get stuck
  20. yeah, got to agree Rob is a top bloke! Anything he sells is always at a great price, and as above, in great condition! drove his deck when he had that set up on it mate, was a really great set up. Comfy, low and handled perfectly. Looking forward to seeing this on yours!
  21. Is the St not a 2 litre? Thought it was only the RS that got the 5 cylinder?
  22. I know it's not in the same league, but Dawn had a 51 plate focus Zetec estate when it was brand new. Handling wise, the focus is and always has been a fantastic car. Even though it was an estate (it had the roof rails so had the beefed up suspension, Zetec ones without the rails had bogo suspension) I couldn't get it to loose the rear even on wet roads, they just seem to grip and grip! Very point and go steering too. Not been in an ST yet, but must say I do like the look of them mate. I'd recommend a focus all day long, just good all round cars. Saying that...................feck that, get a bloody mb6!
  23. If the bottom hose isnt warm mate, then the system still has air in it. I found the MB6 is a pig to bleed. I think I posted up a how to on it, or posted instructions somewhere recently. Took me ages to get the air out of mine. Spudley, deffo change the thermostat first mate, and as above, make sure you really get all the air out the system or the problem will persist. If you get all the air definitely out of it and it still persists, then your mechanic is right, could be the water pump is one the way out. Check your hoses every so often to see if they do the same as vtismill. PS: fill your profiles in guys so we can use names instead of usernames! lol Ta!
  24. Hi mate. It's one we've not heard of before (apart from Mark above!) but would suggest checking the door switches one by one. Give them all a spray with switch cleaner, then push them in and out for about 3 mins on each one. If it's dirty contacts, that should clear it. If not, check the terminals on the actual light itself, see if theres any sign of corrosion on them. As Mark said, if it's water getting to them, then you should see some signs around the terminals. If that checks out ok, then it has to be the actual light around the ignition barrel itself. It's weird that the light is dimming first, then not going fully out, as we dont have the dimming interior light system on our M's. That works from a capacitor (transitor looking thing) which stores power when the light is on, then slowly discharges when the power is cut from the light. Could be a bad earth somewhere between the interior light and the ign barrel light.
  25. Hi Rassiel, There shouldn't be any issues mate as the immobilizer is worked from the ignition key, it has a transponder in it. I got an aftermarket alarm system fitted to both my MB6 and Dawns MC1 Deck. As long as it's a proper fitter that's doing it, all should be straight forward mate
