It's probably a little bit of both mate, as said Honda recommends 10w40 but they will run 5w40 it will tend to use more of that if you have higher miles also. Might be worth trying some higher quality 5w40 and see how that goes.

That sounds similar to what was happening to Krzys' a couple of weeks ago (correct me if I'm wrong dude) which would point to the dizzy. Plug gaps, leads and air filter are all easy to check and eliminate so it's worth doing that first.

Yeah, the pictures aren't brilliant (taken in the garage with the door shut and me squashed up against the bikes) so I couldn't be bothered to PB them. I'll take some better ones in a couple of weeks when I've finished the bay.
