Kenny_tmt's Silver MC2/ Little update pg4!
philgor replied to kenny_tmt's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
this forum soooo need's a like button (like facebook lol), i love my deck to have extra 40 odd bhp. i would love to of seen the face of the integra driver as you nailed passed it... -
lol A REAL CIVIC whats a bunch of n00bs.....some ppl just cant be different they all need there type r's that ever boyracer has and have no imagination....they will know the difference from a rover to a honda when the vtec kicks in lol mine a non vtec. but my misses mum has a 1.6 rover 200 and mine pulls away alot faster and mine a 1.4. she shud of had the honda engined one. i had a rover 620si with a 2litre honda engine in and went like f**k and so did the fuel lol i'm on civiclife aswell, and i can only echo what people have said on here, did an introduction post for the mb1 and got one reply, and whe i put an update when i got the deck, and it came alive, all saying that the deck is much better than the mb1. and as for rover vs honda, i had a 1997 1.6 mb1 ls auto and my mum had a 1997 1.6 rover 416 sli manual. the were similer spec, no a/c, electric window's/mirror's and sunroof both similer bhp of around 110. mine had 113k on the clock the rover barely had 90k on the clock. and mine would piss all over it even though it was an automatic, the only thing i couldn't touch it on was the mpg, i was doing short journey's she was doing distance stuff, but when we were both doing the same journey's there was only 2/3mpg in it. but as for the rover engine, i drove it to work one day and christ it would shift, and you would get a surge of power at 3k and would pull all the way to red line...

Sorry all im leaving to the darkside (BMW M Power)

if i ever had to get rid of the deck, to replace with something newer, i dunno what i'd get, i think i'd end up in an accord estate, or if it was around, the new civic tourer when it come's out in 2015... -
the garage i worked at had these people come round, and gave us a demo on a mk4 1.6 8v astra with 130k on the clock, did an emmison's test on it came back with about 30ppm of hc in the exhaust, put the car on the machine, and it drove like it had 30k on the clock, no sluggishness, and a couple of week's later he said that his fuel bill had gone down aswell. on a high mileage motor, get it done and an engine service aswell. and the c's dropped to about 4ppm which is bloody good... we also had a demo on the diesel version aswell, not good, it reduced the smoke emmision's but that's about it, mpg down, it felt sharper but it was also a lot noiser, so we declined the derv version. it seem's to be a hit, and i want to get mine done, but time and money, a treatment is about 80-100 but if your saving a £10 a week in fuel it'll soon pay for it's self. but it's still no excuse for poor maintainice. what i want to do is take it for a terraclean and then drop the oil take it for a run and then drop the oil again and put the good stuff in, swap all the filter's..

after all this talk about it, what an epic little car, so retro and cool, hopefully it'll serve you better than the saab...

Mr Brown's Project MB3- Front End Repair Underway
philgor replied to Mr Brown's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
wow, that's really good, it really does finish off the front end of the car it's been a long time comming but it's done now, as what's already been said, it just need a small drop on the suspension and it'll be pucker. -
oh yes a boosted deck for the win, want to boost mine eventually..
-
bloody hell mate, that's not good, is that all the damage it did or have they not lifed the bonnet yet on it?
-

i think it's gonna need more than a zebra crossing, (watch the video in the first post) it's gonna want toucan crossing with high level light's mounted for truck, and what the betting where the dividing area between the road and path is gonna be filled with plant's and shrubbery so you can't see them ...
-
very true, they need to be zebra crossing, for a motorist to stop when needed, still the thought of a hgv using them, it's all gonna end in tear's, when anything with a large blind spot (like in the video above) kill's some one...
-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-22350776 i had this bought to my attention on a trucking forum, and thought i bring it on here as we have a few member's on here who do cycle including my self, and first impression's from the video, are, look's alright, does need more uk style marking's such as zebra crossing zig zag's and light's but i'm sure they'll be sorted... then this poped in to my head, wzL0Kyk4m-8 ere no i will not be using them if a truck uses them, the truck will not see a cyclest untill they have hit them....

i do know that if the model code came with a + after it on the mg's it came with electric extra's such as window's etc.
-
3pin, not sure what they are for but the fog lamp's are connected with 2 pin connector's, i think you have to retro fit the complete loom...
-
limiter tap as well.....
-
i can't remember which way it is, but either the front seats or the rear seat's arn't a straight swap, but, with your's being a MA i don't know...
-
vtis front lip would require a load of cutting to get it to fit as it fit's the contours' of the mb bumper, and the bumper are vastly different, if you can get one cheap, have a bash, make it differnent to the norm. as for fog's, i know dave (the boss) he retro fitted fog's from salvage yard, and used his other half's mc1 as a guide to fit them to his ma8, i think most of the wiring is the same, bar a couple of bit's, as for mounting the fog's as they are mounted on the bumper on mb/mc nit sure about the ma's
-
the lip kit, you would be lucky to find a set, as for getting it from honda, one of our german member's managed to get a kit from honda's but it was one of the last avaible. a member on here http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=11216 has managed to pursuade a vti lip to fit his ma, and look ok, as for a rear lip, the best way to get a rear lip fitted would be to get any mb rear bumper and a rear vtis lip.
