Wow the throttle body was properly horrible!
  2. Exhaust sounds mean! I really like it, engine bay looks awesome! Has the new air intake helped the bhp?
  3. Nice, proper cheap! Wish I had money to buy anything with but loving that there are bargins to be had!
  4. Either side of where I live has bumps so could never go mega low but I definately want coilovers for the other add advantages! Where will the MB badge be going?
  5. That looks sweet as mate! Also loving the MB Squad you've made! My centre box has also taken a beating but not because of it being low, because it's far from low! There's a red square speed bump local that's too tall! Even my dads Merc catches on it that's how bad it is! Have you got/are getting front camber adjusters to match the rear?
  6. Could you not disassemble the motor and reverse the mechanism inside, reassemble and hey presto!?
  7. Our cars must only have a 1way LSD then?! This gear box malarky is going to be expensive! But I can't wait to start gathering parts for it!
  8. So it sounds like for our cars we should go no further than 1.5way! fully customisable as per gran turismo I love Gran Turismo! In GT3 I had a Mini Cooper GT, the old school 1300cc one with the stripes! Had the race spec gearbox and managed to set it up in such a way it could you out accelerate the RUF RGT, fully tuned which was a little over 1000bhp or so, this was with the driver aids turned off, my brother was quite frustrated because I had set this Mini up so well! I was proud! Then the house got broken into and the PS2 was stolen along with my save.....damnit!
  9. Checked last on way to work as it got me thinking! You're right enough mate, mine goes between 56mph - 58mph depending on the road. Must have been going downhill when I got the 60mph at 3k! I had begun to wonder if it was just me losing my marbles for a minute there!
  10. Just had a read on Wikipedia about the LSD, namely the differences in 1way, 1.5way and 2way. So it sounds like for our cars we should go no further than 1.5way!
  11. You'll probably change the bite point and be back at square one with the clutch I'll drive my mums Accord and get used to the mega high bite point then jump back in mine and will end up nearly stalling or doing jerky gear changes as I get used to it again
  12. Something like a 1.5way? That's one thing I don't understand about diffs, they have 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 but both 1.5 and 2.0 are labelled as two way! A proper LSD is on my list though which is why I'm looking into it!
  13. Yeah, I remember seeing on the Type R owners forum, someone was selling a DC5 and during the weeks it was on for sale it turned more into a project thread, new wheels, carbon bonnet, rear spoiler etc etc and kept bumping the price up! Don't spend if you don't like/enjoy or plan to sell your car, otherwise the sky is your limit! You'll never make money back from modifying but then that's not why we do it. It's what makes us Exactly! I've only ever done it for my own benefit! I can't help myself, always saying "I'm leaving this one alone", I've not even had my Civic a year yet and she's quite different to when I first test drove her!
  14. Plus they say it's naughty to change gears when cornering for this very reason I can imagine the scenario being that you change gear dumping the clutch more agressively than normal and then when the front slides you lift off? If that's the case it'll just be lift-off oversteer to which the cure is as you say, learning the cars new characteristics
  15. 16. Looks great so far! I'm not a fan of black wheels though as you have to constantly keep fresh tyre shine on otherwise the grey tyre against the black wheel looks tacky in my opinion! What's the "Go" like with the K24?
  17. Congrats Dawn! Really jealous still of those seats! Beware, I'm in Edinburgh 18th - 20th October
  18. ah cool - will keep an eye open for them, cheers Dave Mate, my standard box is 3k rpm at 60mph? Problem is, almost all other cars are 70mph at 3k rpm, so makes the mb6/mc2's a bit high reving for motorways. On saying that, Dawns deck (1.6) is exactly the same......3k at 60mph I used to get 56 at 3k? (never like to go past 3k on a morning until she's warm, and used to get cars sat behind me).. not much difference to standard, but better than the s80 Yeah 56mph at 3k sounds about right for mine too! Would be annoying as hell to run in if you couldn't take the motor over 3k for 1000 miles! Just enjoy the oversteer! I think if you stiffen the rear it helps reduce understeer, I read that on here somewhere on a topic about the MG rear ARB!
  19. As above, a car is only worth what the owner thinks it's worth, in Dawn's case, it's worth putting in the lovely leather! To anyone Tom, Dick or Harry my Civic won't even be worth putting aftermarket wheels on, if you saw the list and potential costs of mods I want to do to mine you'd go mental and probably have me put in a padded cell!
  20. Need to edit this as it's changed loads already! Mongoose Cat-Back exhaust - Now going to be custom 2.5" S/S system with option to replace CAT Induction kit (Thinking Tegiwa at the moment!) - Now fitted Eibach lowering springs - Still on the cards or may go for shocks and springs! Alloys (Still deciding, I love the Rota Spec R and Dare RG2, gotta be gunmetal!) - Decided on Sprint98 in 16" Needs speakers badly! Thinking front components, rear 6x9 to replace originals, run them off a 4 channel amp! - Still want to do this but it's low down on my list of things to do! Got a spare DB Audio T-Rex component set for the fronts, need some 2 way speakers for the rear and an amp! Possibly a sub in the future depending how the new speakers sound once set up! Uprated brakes and paint the calipers! - Might go with Tarox discs and pads in OEM size or bit bigger to fill the 16" wheels, worked perfectly find on my EK4, no fade To add to the list: Added Wind deflectors which are fitted Stickers galore! Mod the headlights - Got myself a second set to fit while I work on the originals! VHT Wrinkle red rocker cover is a must! Get to grips with carbon vynal wrap so I can be like JohnGreen Also looking at changing the gear knob + gaitor! Maybe a short shifter too! Polybush everything! MG ZS180 Rear ARB - if anyone can help source one that would be much appreciated, can't seem to find any! VTEC light but want to be creative with the light itself, not sure what I'll end up doing with that yet though! That's all I can think of for now I'm sure I'll be back in 6 weeks to amend this haha! That's the list and here's where we stand: Custom 2.5" Catback exhaust ITR Airbox (Replaced Tegiwa unit) VTi-S Lips and skirts fitted MGZS180 Rear ARB MGZS180 Suspension + Modified forks curtesy of Noodels Gear stick gaitor removed and an FP Racing gear knob fitted De-chromed front grill De-chromed headlights Smoked side repeaters 16" Rota Spec R Alloys That's pretty much it for now, major mods still to do include: Gearbox - Final drive, clutch, flywheel, 5th gear and LSD Suspension - Coilovers, LCA's, Toe & Camber adjusters, Top mounts, Tie bars, H Brace Exhaust - Manifolds need changing and a decat fitting! Brakes - Need a clean up, will uprate when they need changing, want the calipers painting too! Paint - Malicious damage to be repaired, plus other parts to be painted for a scheme I have in mind! Engine - A surprise! Interior - Dave & Dawn's fault but I want it doing Refurb standard wheels for Winter use. JDM rear lights USDM amber front corners Massive to do list but I love my Civic enough to do it! Euromillions anyone?
