    Salt spreaders were out in force on the M6 last weekend. Glad I didn't take the MB6 out, last time I had the MB3 out the salt spreaders removed half the lacquer from the bonnet! The E36 just cruises on through with no issues. Oh and the MB3 still starts and drives, just goes to show how tough a D-series is! If only the bodywork had the same durability...

    Thanks Dave! That's funny because I've loved 3 spokes since first seeing them in the mid-90s. They were older 3 spoke Advans on a Primera and when I got Gran Turismo 2 on the PS1, my first car was a replica of it! Just looked Bros up, oh dear. Glad I grew up after they came and went. That's the plan! Going to make her look stunning! I'm keeping the 3 spokes but I'm probably going to get another set of wheels with crap tyres so I can go drifting without worry. They're always going for cheap on the BMW FB pages.

    I have no NCB of my own (joys of being a named driver for 4+ years lol) so I've only got my age and location to depend on to get cheap insurance. Next renewal should be a bit better! And @Shafzzz I can't fit tools in an S2000.

    Funny you should ask that... Because this is replacing the MB3, it inherits the MB3's free insurance policy from work. I got a proper quote just to see how much it'd be and it was £805! To compare, my MB6 cost me £536 to insure this year!

    I drive a BMW. Your road laws to not apply to me! Nah like Shafz said, it was a weekend and the parking wardens weren't too active. "It's a BMW. That's all I'm going to say."

    I was going off that we're supposed to have 45L tanks and when I fill at the light, it's 43L until the tick. 45 - 43 = 2

    The light is probably blown. It's meant to come on 2 litres from empty. My MB3's fuel light never came on and I've actually ran it bone dry before. The one in the MB6 comes on on the last notch before the actual empty mark.

    200,000 is nothing for a D15Z8. Do it. I reckon mine would've got there eventually if my MB3 wasn't rotten!

    Oh yes. The autobox is actually good enough to kickdown when you need it so it's actually really nice. The wheels are what drew me to it in the first place. I love them. I couldn't sell the MB6 for a 328i, as much as I love my BM, I actually still prefer my MB! Good shout on the Lexus though, is he going to run silly power with it?

    Mine shows a lot through. I prefer it like that though. Put the H back on and it'll look sweet. I sprayed that support bar black after realising it was a bit too obvious behind the grill. You don't have that problem.

    That's why I just waited and bought an already painted kit in the end. Worked out much cheaper.

    It already makes somewhere in the region of 190bhp anyway so it's not really in need of more power yet. First things I want to do is get some angel eyes on it and sort some of the bodywork out.

    I think it is possible to hold it in gear for a dyno, probably something I should ask an E36 owners club about. Only reason I got an automatic is because a manual 328i would've cost about 3x as much! Also BMW autoboxes are actually nice.

    I liked the part where my E36 looks tiny compared to the EP3.
