There's better videos, I just picked that one because dude does the mod on camera too. It makes more of a difference at low to mid RPM. Up top it sounds the same because the butterfly valves would be open anyway.
-
I assume you mean the "golf tee" mod? It's basically bypassing the butterfly valves in the exhaust (which are meant to keep it quieter) by blocking the tube with a golf tee or anything similar. Video shows the difference.

Pulls really well for a Honda, yeah. Doesn't have that low end flatspot that most open cone kits give you.

So with the MB3 off the road for good I needed a new workhorse to keep the miles off the MB6. I needed something that was as spacious inside, as comfortable to sit in and most of all, as economical. Did I mention I needed something that was 10x as fast? And look, it does do economy too! Granted that's motorway but I never saw more than 37MPG out of the MB3 anyway. Plus I wasn't even trying to drive efficiently in the 328i. Having way too much fun overtaking everything with an Audi badge. I went down to London to pick it up last weekend. Big up @Shafzzz for picking me up from the train station and giving me somewhere to sleep. Body is far from perfect but it was already lowered on sick 3 spoke wheels and was mechanically spot on. All I've done to it is fix some small problems, take the restrictor out of the airbox and done the "golf tee" mod (with a screw instead). Picture spam time! First fill up. The range showed ---.-- for the first 10 minutes of driving which basically means "put fuel in me NOW". Night shots whilst waiting for a mate. Asking for a HID kit and halos. It's not a real BMW if it doesn't have 6 cylinders. Posing with Shafz. Oh and the best part is: It's the same colour as my MB6! Going to have fun with this I think. Current mod list: - Audio -- Panasonic CQ-C1113NW headunit - Exterior -- Smoked side repeaters -- Smoked rear lights -- CCFL angel eyes -- DJAuto smooth headlight glass -- 99p eBay "super white" headlight and foglight bulbs -- Depo smoked front indicator lenses -- Dechromed grills -- M stripes front, back and side to side -- 12x6 US size number plates -- Genuine BMW front number plate delete trim - Engine -- "Golf tee" exhaust mod -- SSQV air filter - Chassis -- BMW Style 38 wheels 17x7.5J Future plans: - Better headunit - Tints - Roof spoiler - Front lip or M-Tech front bumper - M50 manifold - Induction kit - Remap - HID kit

Roj's Mean Green No Fire Trucks Given Machineâ„¢ (Rust In Pieces)
Roj replied to Roj's topic in Honda Civic MA/MB/MC
The time has come to say goodbye to the MB3. She's battered and bruised but the only thing she'd fail the MOT on is the sills, which sadly no longer exist. Current MOT expires tomorrow which gives me enough time to send her down to her final resting place on my parents' driveway, where she'll be broken for parts to keep my MB6 and many other Hondas alive for a bit longer. I will have her replacement tomorrow. Rust In Pieces, R619 MNN. -
When I changed cabin filter in my MB6 I noticed the heaters blew stronger and quieter. Also the quality of air coming out of the vents was much better too.

I don't think decals can be peeled off and reapplied after they've been stuck down for a while. Could be wrong though.- 1,321 replies

Both my MB6 and MB3 sit at about 1/3 of the way up and do so no matter if I'm moving or stood at a traffic light. I'd try a new thermostat first.
-
The only off the shelf one that you can still get new is the Toyosports one for £189 on eBay.
-
It goes from -7 to +30. I don't think my exhaust fits in those ranges. I've just got some Betalink K1 after suggestions from friends. Very strong stuff for car applications so that's great.

Heater sorted! Nice and warm air coming from my vents again. I have a new problem though, the 3M tape holding my rear lip to my bumper isn't holding too well anymore. Would No More Nails work? I need something waterproof and heatproof because my exhaust likes melting things.

I'd rather hub swap than get adaptors. More expensive but less paranoia.- 1,321 replies

My PB MB9 Aerodeck! Engine rebuild in progress

I actually prefer the wheels on the green one. Hope you fix it! If it needs a new engine, you can always just have the one out of my MB3. -
