  1. So this morning I had to get my parcel for the local dpd place. As I pull up I see this celica vvti all boyed up wheels lowered angled exhaust etc etc. as I'm waiting for my parcel the guy comes out and starts warming it up, at this point I knew what was about to happen! So as I go to pull off he quickly pulls off in front of me, as we come out of the trading estate what's there oh yes a 2 lane private (off course ) carridge way. Suddenly as I thought he nails it you can here him ragging the s h I t out of it so I did the right thing and chased him. By the time I hit vtec In second gear I was pretty much kissing that vvti badge, if it wasn't for other racers in the in side lane I would of left hime for dust. Bless him his bad boy vvti hair dressers car just got owned by a 5 door family rover look a like

  2. Wow! I want that in my life so bad! Always been a massive fan of these, was in one when it was brand new! Yeah, I'm that old, but hey, I was only a nipper! I'd have it done exactly like that, those arches, those rims, that engine! Its perfection that is!

  6. Quick question really. On my MB the front wing bolts that go in each end of the bumper up into the wing have been replaced with a random nut and bolt. This does the job but it annoys me as it's a fiddly job to remove/replace them when dealing with removing/refitting the bumper! Now I bought some replacement bolts but there's nothing on the wing for the bolts to grip. So my question is, was it just a nut and bolt affair before hand or was there something attached to the inside of the bolt hole on the wing?

  13. After that they were rubbed down again with 1200 wet & dry and sprayed with high build white primer. All white in the sun! Then rubbed down again with 2000 grit and sprayed with 3 coats of silver. And finally 3 coats of lacquer and this is what they look like today. I have to say I'm pretty chuffed with how they've turned out considering this is the first time I've attempted a job as big as this. And it didn't all go to plan, on Thursday when I went to move the first wheel over for the 1st coat of lacquer the wheel next to it fell over face first, once I'd finished swearing it was back out with the wet and dry, filler and silver paint.

  14. So I started by grinding off the worst bits and rubbing back all the rest until I had a good base to work with. Then they were filled and rubbed down again in increasing stages of wet & dry. Hosed down and left to dry out in the garden. After that they were wiped down and sprayed with filler primer. I told my mate when he came round to help with the paint correction the other week that this was the colour I was going with. His face was a picture.

  20. And again, don't go for drilled. And try MTEC's own site, they have some good deals.

  21. Same as above, groved and dimpled, don't need to be drilled really and it does weaken them. Look at all the btcc & f1 car, they never run drilled, for this very reason.

  23. at the bumper corner its a 8mm self tapper, which goes into a plastic clip that opens up when tightened, or you could use a "speed" clip the second nut and bolt you mention shouldn't be there, it should be a rectangular clip, this just supports the bumper doesn't tighten up. these break easily as the plastic goes brittle.

  24. Well been out for a play tonight. Not gonna say it's a very different car cus it's not. But the extra power is obvious and the transition to vtec is much smoother (something I asked for) and it rips through the revs. Found the limiter a good few times tonight simply because I'm used to being in a certain gear for so long. And it was up to the limit a good couple of seconds before I expected in every gear.. overall pretty chuffed. It's a hairy little go kart. Got upto just under 150mph easily too. Used to find a bit of a wall, slow going after 135. Much Much stronger up there now. Please don't think I drive like that all the time just put it through its paces I the depths of night see what she can do.

  31. had that a couple of time's on the mot test, test the horn as i pull on to the ramp, might not work or sound really bad. held it down for 30 odd sec's and it cleared it self out and sounded a lot better. at the end of the day we don't (or shouldn't) use the horn everyday, it's a bit like indcator's in bmw's, they only get used once a year on the mot test, but i alway's find that the hazard switch is worn out......
